Blueth Mendoza's POV
"You really don't want to have feelings for Rachelle?"
I didn't reply to what Ms. Val asked me and I just pressed my face on my thighs. Ms. Val let out a sigh as she looked up towards the night sky.
"Love is a dangerous and confusing thing to have. You don't know if you love someone as a friend or there's something else forming inside of you for that person. But when we start feeling something where we know that we love them not just as friends but something else, the best thing to do is to just accept it, you just have to accept the fact that you are now in love with someone. Fighting the feeling will only make it worst, it'll only hurt you because you are constantly fighting with yourself. You don't want to fight yourself because, at the end of the day, yourself is the only one who understands what you feel."
I keep my face pressed against my thighs as I listen to Ms. Val. She smiles at me and she continues talking.
"Blueth, don't deny the fact that you are having feelings for Rachelle. Don't fight it, learn to accept what you truly feel towards her. Stop fighting yourself, stop making yourself get torn apart because of this feeling. Blueth, honey? Look at me."
Ms. Val placed her hand on my cheeks and she lifted my face. I looked at her and she smiled at me.
"You can learn to accept it and end this confusion, or you continue fighting it and let the confusion get to you even more. Stop fighting with yourself, okay?" Ms. Val said as she kissed my forehead. I smiled as I look at Ms. Val. "There's the smile of my Blueth. Now, what do you say we get back into looking for that Mistake?"
I gave Ms. Val a hug and started thanking her for the things she has said to me, for comforting me. Ms. Val smiled and ruffled my hair.
"Hey Blueth, you seeing what I'm seeing?" Ms. Val said as she pointed the direction towards the place where book Rachelle was. I started wondering what Ms. Val meant and why she was pointing towards book Rachelle. I then started squinting my eyes and I saw a shadow on book Rachelle's shoulder, it was the Mistake, sitting on her shoulder.
"I'm seeing what you're seeing Ms. Val, what do we do?"
"I approach book Rachelle and I'll flick the Mistake off of her shoulder, aiming at the ground. And when it hit the ground, you touch it with that vial, got it?"
I smiled and gave Ms. Val a nod. Ms. Val then started walking towards the Mistake which was sitting on book Rachelle's shoulder. Ms. Val gave it a flick and aimed at the ground, and it was a success, it hit the ground. I came in and touched the little Mistake with the vial and it magically got sucked into the vial.
"Ah-hah! We did it Blueth! We can now end this little hide and seek game we played!" Ms. Val said as she patted me on the head.
The magical door then appeared in front of us, shining brightly. "Ah, our ride's on time." Ms. Val said as she started walking towards it.
I was about to follow Ms. Val through the door, but I was looking at book Rachelle who was on her knees, crying.
"Hey, kid? Are you coming? You better get here or else I'll close the door and you'll be trapped here."
"I'm coming." I said as I started walking towards the door. And with that, the light of the door started surrounding me and the little vial started turning into a small piece of paper.
"Ahh, home sweet home! Boy, I thought our proofreading on that book won't end. We searched everywhere for that Mistake only to see that it was sitting on the shoulder of book Rachelle." Ms. Val said as she got down from the table. Ms. Val looked at me as she brushed a few hairs from her forehead. "Hey, kid? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
I got down from the table as I stared at the story I wrote.
"Hey kid, if you're wondering about paying for that proofreading we did, don't worry about it, it's on the house." Ms. Val said as she took my book and gave it to me.
"Hm? Oh yeah, thanks." I replied as I started walking out the back.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm just... Going to burn this book."
"Burn it? Why would you burn it?"
I was looking down as I stopped walking. "I don't know... I don't know what to do with it."
I heard Ms. Val let out a sigh and she started walking towards me. "Kid, we talked about this remember? You don't need to fight yourself, you need to accept things."
I hugged the book as I started leaning against the door frame. "I don't know anymore. I don't know what to do..."
Ms. Val looked at me and she took the piece of paper which was filled with the mistakes of my book. "Well, if you don't know what to do with your book, this piece of paper will tell you what to do with your book. See?" Ms. Val opened the piece of paper, revealing that there was only one thing written on it. "It says here that you only have a few mistakes. It's a great book, it'll be a waste if you will just burn it."
"That's not the reason why I want to burn it."
"I know why you want to burn it Blueth, you want to burn it because you want to run away from the feeling you are feeling, you want to stop being confused by these feelings you have. But Blueth, you can't escape these feelings just by burning a book you made about you and Rachelle, if you want to escape these feelings, if you want to stop being so confused, you need to accept them. Stop running away from the truth Blueth, if you keep running away from it, you'll spend the rest of your days running."
Ms. Val smiled at me as she kissed me on my forehead. She ruffled my hair and she started walking towards another pile of books.
I stood around as I looked at the book, thinking of what I should do to it.
"And, the end." I said as I finished rewriting the story I made of me and Rachelle. As I closed the book, Ms. Val knocked and opened the door.
"You finished rewriting your story?" She asked as she stood in the doorway. I smiled as I was looking at the book. "So, what's the new ending about? How did your story end?"
"Well, it ended by Blueth defeating the dragon and accepting that she has feelings for Rachelle. She admits her feelings towards her and they start having a beautiful relationship together."
Ms. Val smiled and she walked towards me. "I'm proud of you kid." She then ruffled my hair and started walking back towards the door. "Now, come down and join us. I made cookies. You better be quick though, or else Cathy will eat all of the cookies."
I smiled as I looked at Ms. Val leaving my room. "I'll come down in a second." I said as I placed my book inside my drawer.
I feel much better now, now that I have accepted the truth of my feelings.
