Chapter Thirty Seven

Blueth Mendoza's POV

How can I be so forgetful! How can I forget about Rachelle!? Gah!

I kept running as I searched every room, every corner of the school, looking for Rachelle. I then stopped at one corner of the school because I heard voices at the other end of the corner. I peeked and I saw Rachelle, she was surrounded by a group of girls. Oh no.

I quickly stepped out of the corner and ran towards Rachelle. "Hey! Leave her alone!"

The group of girls looked at me as I stood in front of Rachelle.

"Leave her alone? Like how her parents left her all alone? It must suck to grow up without parents, am I right Rachey?" The girl in the middle said as she reached out and started pulling Rachelle's hair, she must be the leader of this group or whatever.

"Cut it out!" I said as I hugged Rachelle, pulling away her hair from the hands of the girl.

"Awe, look at this. Her princess charming came to rescue her. And look guys, Rachey started crying. Tears of joy Rachey?"

"Hey! I'm warning you!"

"Blueth, it's okay." Rachelle said as she tried to stop her crying.

The group of girls started laughing as they looked at Rachelle. "Is Rachey going to cry and go to her parents? Will Rachey tell us to her parents? Oh, wait, Rachey doesn't have parents. That is so sad."

Rachelle started shaking as she kept crying. I hugged her tight to help her calm down. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have let my sight off of her. I should've stayed with her, I should've made her feel that she wasn't alone, but I failed. How could I forget about her!? What is wrong with you Blueth!?

"This is no fun anymore, now that her princess charming arrived. Let's go girls. Oh, and Rachey? You better not tell anyone about this, you know what will happen if you did." The group of girls then started walking away.

I looked at Rachelle who was still crying. I tried comforting her as I wiped away her tears. "I'm sorry Rachelle... I shouldn't have left you..." I said as I placed my forehead against hers.

"It's not your fault Blueth... It's mine... I shouldn't have wandered off like that... If I just stayed still... Then I wouldn't have crossed paths with them..." Rachelle said as she tried catching her breath. She was out of breath because of the crying she did, she must have weak lungs.

"No, Rachelle, it's my fault. If I just stayed with you, if only I didn't leave you behind. I'm sorry. I promised that you won't feel alone, I promised that I won't make you feel left out, I didn't keep the end of my promise."

I hugged Rachelle even tighter as I tried my best to calm her down. We sat down and leaned our backs against the walls. From time to time, I would look at Rachelle and ask if she was okay. But each time I would ask her, she would stay quiet. I think it's best if I let her rest for a while.

As we were resting, Rachelle placed her head on my shoulder. I looked towards her and she has her eyes closed. She fell asleep. I smiled as I looked at her sleeping face, she looks so cute.

Minutes passed by and Rachelle started moving her head, she must be waking up. I looked over and saw Rachelle opening her eyes, stretching her arms as she let out a yawn.

"Blueth? Where are we?" She asked as she let out another yawn. After her yawn, she looked around and her frown from earlier returned to her face. "Oh, right... We're at school..."

"Rachelle..."

"Hm?" Rachelle looked at me and I saw the expression on her face. It was screaming for help. She looks tired.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were being bullied?"

Rachelle looked at the floor as she gave me a sad smile. "I don't want you to be a part of my problems. I don't want them to start picking on you as well. I don't want to see you get hurt because of me."

"Then, why didn't you report them? Why didn't you told them to someone who can help you?"

Rachelle let out a sigh as she stood up. "Not like people will listen to me. And even if I did report them to the principal, they won't believe me. Angeline is the daughter of the principal of this school, and she has good grades so it'll be impossible for them to believe me. They'll just think that I'm making up stories because I was jealous of her or something."

"Well, that's not fair." I said as I stood up.

"Well, that's the thing. If you're the daughter or son of someone who is on a high level, those below you will be at a great disadvantage. They can't report you if you've done something bad because people know your parents are good people and they have power. I just don't pay attention to them."

"You just let them bully you like that?"

"Not like I can do anything about it."

"Rachelle..."

Ms. Val suddenly appeared around the corner. Her eyes widened as she saw us. "Oh, there you are. I've been looking everywhere for the both of you. I thought I lost you or something. Look at what I won." Ms. Val said as she showed us a plushy and started shaking it gently. "Isn't he cute? Woah, hold on, what happened to the both of you? The two of you looked like you've been in a fight or something. What happened?"

Rachelle looked down as she held her arm with her hand. I looked at her and I can tell that she doesn't want to let Ms. Val know the truth that she's being bullied. I know that I shouldn't say people's secret to anyone, but what Rachelle's been through, that is not a secret to be kept.

I'm sorry Rachelle, but I have to do this, this is my only chance to help you. "Rachelle's being bullied."

Rachelle's eyes grew wide as she heard me say these words, as well as Ms. Val's.

"She's being what!?"

"No, that... that's not true." Rachelle said as she grabbed my arms, pulling me, hinting me to take back what I said. "Blueth's lying."

"It's true, she's being bullied by a girl named Angeline!"

"Blueth! What are you doing!?"

"I'm sorry Rachelle, but I just can't stay quiet while you're being bullied."

"Oh, so a girl named Angeline is bullying one of my babies huh? I guess I need to show that Angeline girl not to mess with my little ones."

Ms. Val then started walking away. I knew right away that Ms. Val will use her magic on them so I grabbed her by the scarf and pulled her, making her lean towards me. "Wait, Ms. Val? What about keeping your magic a secret?" I whispered into Ms. Val's ear.

"Relax kid, I'll throw some amnesia powder in their faces once I'm done teaching them a lesson. Now, if you'll excuse me, some bullies needs to pay for what they have done to my babies." Ms. Val held my hand and removed it from grabbing her scarf and she continued walking away.

"I'm sorry Rachelle, I just couldn't let myself stay quiet."

Rachelle smiled and hugged me. "Thank you." She said as she hugged me tighter. I smiled and hugged her back.

"So, what will happen to Angeline? What will Ms. Val do to them?" Rachelle asked as she let go of the hug.

"Well, let's just say that Ms. Val will take care of them." I let out a laugh as we started walking outside.

We sat down under a tree while we waited for Ms. Val. Not long and she came out of the school, she saw us and ran towards us, giving both Rachelle and I a hug. At that moment, I saw Rachelle's smile, it was a smile that I haven't seen before. It was the brightest smile I saw Rachelle smiled.

"Alright kids, the day is still young! Let's start and get some fun!" Ms. Val said and started running towards the booths and games. Rachelle and I laughed as I grabbed her hand and followed Ms. Val. We had so much fun, I still had to watch Ms. Val though because she kept using her magic to win some games. I took lots of photos, photos to keep as memories of the fun day we had.
