Blueth Mendoza's POV
"Where are we?" I asked as I looked around. We're not where we were earlier, I can tell you that. It looked like we were in some kind of mountain.
As I looked around, I remembered that Raymund was chanting something at Ms. Val's book. This place must be a setting inside Ms. Val's book or something.
I looked if I was still chained up and I saw that there were no more chains wrapped around me, instead, I was wrapped around by this shadow, it looked like a claw.
Wait, a claw? My eyes widened as I realized which claws these belong to, well, shadow claws. Raymund.
I looked over and I saw that I was floating behind Raymund, I don't know how I could've missed that. I looked over his shoulders and I saw Ms. Val standing in front of Raymund, all out of breath with bruises and scars on her. Raymund's not looking to be in tip-top shape as well.
How long was I out? Don't tell me I missed their fight!
"Just give it up Raymund! You're obviously no match for me!" Ms. Val yelled out as she lets another beam of light out of her finger.
Raymund just casts a shadow in front of the beam and it gets blocked. "Do you hear yourself, Princess!? Can't you hear that you're already out of breath!" Raymund sends shadows to attack Ms. Val, but before they could reach her, Cathy jumps in and steps on the shadows, making them disappear.
This is bad, I need to do something!
I looked around for something I can use to help me escape these claws. As I looked around for a way out, I noticed something on the back of Raymund, it was a symbol of some sort, an emblem. Wait, could this be? It must be!
I looked over at Ms. Val and Cathy, they saw me and I gave them an expression which says 'Be ready.' Don't ask how we are understanding these expressions, we had practice.
Ms. Val and Cathy got my message and they were starting to get to position. Cathy started circling Raymund, while Ms. Val aimed her finger at Raymund. Cathy got close enough and she gave me the look. The look which says 'When you're ready.'
I gave her a nod and kicked the emblem on Raymund's back with all my might. The kick I gave the emblem made the shadow claw vanish, letting me go.
"Cathy!" Ms. Val yelled as she waved her finger and a beam hit Raymund right in the chest.
Cathy caught me and ran back towards Ms. Val.
"Nice work, kiddo." Ms. Val said as she patted me on the head. "Now, Cathy, take Blueth and get out of this place."
I looked at Ms. Val as confusion filled my face. "Wait, what? What about you? We can't just leave you here."
"Don't worry about me kiddo. I'll be right behind you. Now go! There should be a glowing light here somewhere. Cathy, I'm trusting you that you take Blueth home. Okay?"
"You can count on me, Val." Cathy said as she suddenly picked me up and started flying away.
"Wait! Cathy! We can't leave Ms. Val alone! We have to come back and help her!"
"Don't worry Blueth. I've known Val for a long time, she can handle it!"
As Cathy kept flying away, I looked at Ms. Val as she started blasting Raymund with beams of light.
"Okay Raymund, let's dance."
"Where are we going?" I asked as Cathy kept flying around.
"Val told me to look for that weird glowing door made with light. And that's what I'm doing." As Cathy circled, I noticed a door filled with light near a cliff.
"Cathy! There!" I said as I pointed at the cliff.
"Got it!" Cathy then saw it and landed. "Okay, let's go." Cathy said as she started walking towards the door.
"But what about Ms. Val?" I asked as I looked at the direction where beams of light kept going off.
"She'll be right behind us, come on Blueth."
"No! We'll wait for her! We can't just leave her behind!"
"Blueth I--- Gaaahhh!!!"
"Cathy? Cathy!? CATHY!?"
Cathy suddenly fell to the ground, dragging her head against the ground. Letting out a loud and painful roar.
"Cathy? What's wrong!?" I asked as I try and calm her down.
"V-Val!!!" Cathy said as she lets out a scream.
"Ms. Val?" I asked as I look at her. Then, a bright light came from the place where Ms. Val and Raymund were fighting. A big and bright light, after that, silence. The beams of light stopped going off. As I saw the beams of light stop going off, I felt sadness crawl up to me. I don't know why, but something doesn't feel right.
"Blueth..."
I heard a voice call out behind me. I turned around and I saw Ms. Val. She was different, she was all gray. From her hair, body, even her clothes are gray.
I ran up to her and hugged her. "Ms. Val? Did you win? You won, right? Tell me you won. We can go home now, right?"
Ms. Val smiled at me as she kissed me on my forehead. "You'll get to go home now Blueth. No monsters appearing, no monsters hurting you."
"W-what?" I asked as I looked at Ms. Val. "You're coming with us, right?"
Ms. Val didn't say anything and she started ruffling my hair. "You be good to your parents okay? Don't blame Rachelle for what happened, she was scared. She didn't want you to get hurt so she did what she could only do. I'd do the same thing if I were her. I'd say I'll see you again but, this will be the last time that I'll see you. But don't worry, I'll still be in your memories. I won't leave."
"Ms. Val?" Tears started flowing down my cheeks as I hugged her tightly, not wanting to let go.
"Goodbye Blueth... I'm sorry..."
"Everything's starting to go blurry and gray. W-what's happening...?"
Ms. Val smiled at me as she kissed my forehead. Then, everything around me started fading away.
"No, no, no, no, no, no... Ms. Val..."
"Blueth...?" Rachelle called out my name as she approached me. I looked at her with tears coming out of my eyes. "W-what's wrong? Where's Ms. Val...?"
I hugged Rachelle tightly as tears kept on flowing down my cheeks. "Ms. Val's gone..."
