A New Life

Tiamat's sleepy eyes opened into slits, and she immediately tried to move her hands to block the ray of sun shining on her, but she when she did so, she noticed a black long sleeve.

She immediately looked at what she was wearing; a black robe dress with a white apron.

Surprised, she attempted to look around, and found herself in a room with many wooden...cribs. At least ten cribs, with only four of them being occupied by tiny, beautiful little babies.

Tiamat walked to the closest crib, and saw a tiny baby wrapped tightly and firmly in a white blanket.

The baby appeared to be exceptionally normal, wriggling and squirming. While she observed the baby even more, the baby yawned cutely. Her whole body was suddenly filled with elation and love towards the little baby.

Before Tiamat can even think of showering it with love, footsteps rang from the door a few feet away from her.

A middle aged female human was walking, looking inside the cribs similar to her, checking to make sure the babies were held safe, comfortable, and secure.

After her inspection was done, the human nodded to her and left right back out the door.

As no babies seemed to be crying out in hunger or excreting their wastes, it is safe to assume that they were taking a nap at this time of day.

Left alone, Tiamat can only blankly look around her, slowly thinking about her current situation.

'I...left the...imaginary space, and fused with...a human? How did...I exactly-hmm?'

While contemptating, she realized that she somehow knew she was in an orphanage of some kind. She can absolutely say for sure that she has never heard of such a term in the Imaginary Number Space.

Or before she was imprisoned in the space.

She then realized that there were also several other unknown memories within her. From the body she was in.

A body fit to be a vessel.

Blurry memories of another life, a life where she was a human. A normal life where she lived like a machine, working and eating as an orphanage caretaker.

What stood out inside these unknown memories, however, was books. Apparently, this woman-, no, she herself, loved reading books. What made her more was confused that Tiamat herself was also in those books.

The vessel seemed to have found these books in a dusty old area...but where did it originated from? From the memories, she didn't know, but still...

'How...strange.'

In her blurry memories, she had read that Tiamat had advent as a Beast, and attempted to destroy all of humanity in the Babylonia arc, all because she was scared of humans.

Yet, she also loved them, because they descended from her. She wanted to be loved by them and her children. That was why that version of her sealed herself from moving...until someone blasted her to pieces, allowing her to recreate her body.

With her Beast instincts consuming her sanity.

These complicated thoughts confused her. The memories, and emotions carried by them, are influencing her in a way she has never experienced before.

Never before had she been felt so...human.

Her sleepy eyes widened.

That's right...human. Human emotions. Such a thing felt so alien, yet so familiar...

Why?

Was she never loved...because all she knew was to birth, nurture, and love her children?

'I have nurtured many a life. Many a life has loved me. However, my children used me as a ladder, and they always head to places so far away. I want to love them forever. I want to be at their side forever. Was my love a mistake?'

Was her love...a mistake?

That she never understood them?

That didn't matter right now, because she was a caretaker now. A caretaker for babies, who are in need of a mother. Naturally, Tiamat herself is a mother, and so taking care of human children shouldn't be a problem.

She had always love children, so this was a godsend wish for her. There's also the fact that she wants to feel the joy of creating new life once more...

But that's a story for another time.

If her time here was too peaceful, then there were her memories, which she has plenty of time to go through.

It could be said that she has all the time in the world.

'Be that as it may, but...human...emotions?' Tiamat pondered on what she was feeling.

How did she feel?

...

Time passed, and a couple days later, she was sitting and playing in the fields with five children of about four to six years old. There was an additional baby girl of about two years old who was with them, but I was carrying her around.

A couple yards away was a river stream flowing past the orphanage nearby, conveniently flowing into a nearby ocean.

Throughout the past few days, she had acted as the human would. It was quite easy, as she kept to herself. The vessel memories also acted the same, being introverted.

The one thing that others seemed to notice was that Tiamat would act motherly towards the children. The older ones looked at her with confusion, but shrugged it off, thinking she was taking her job more seriously now.

She was never talkative, only quietly taking care of the little ones. Although she had felt human emotions, she has never really acted upon them. They were alien to her, and therefore should be observed with caution. As she had seen humanity at its worse before...she doesn't want it to happen to her.

As an orphanage caretaker, and taking a couple lessons from her previous life as the Primordial Goddess, she decided to love the children in a different way.

Strange as it is to view humans as family, they are descendants from her first-generation children. In short they were still descended from her, the Primordial Goddess of Life.

As a Primordial Goddess, one would assume that she has some modicum of powers that are not natural to a normal human.

And she did.

Accidentally, the hour after she came to be in this body, she somehow opened her 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴 page.

It was a confusing thing really, seeing a transparent blue page opening before her out of thin air. She almost attempted to destroy the surrounding with her power...but she held herself back.

Still, how exactly did it happen? Well, it just happened.

She was thinking about her life, and thought of her 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴.

That clearly triggered something, because a light screen like those litrpg games appeared in front of her, invisible to the eyes of others.

She had tested her powers late in an isolated location without anyone knowing late at night. If they did know...repurcussions were sure to be had.

When testing her skills, she didn't use them at maximum power, because they could at the very least damage the surroundings. It was difficult though, to use her powers in this vessel. It'll take some time to get use to this body.

With Self-Modification she can return to her true form, and use more of her abilities...

But she must be at the sea. That's why some parts of her status is sealed.

As for her given titles...she neither accepted nor threw away her given titles and names. They were gifts from her children after all.

The title 'Mother of Life' and 'Primordial Mother' are already self-explanatory. Tiamat is the primordial goddess, the mother of all life that naturally exists on this world.

The title, Femme Fatele, was given to her by a stupid guy, whom she assumes to have brought her out from the imaginary sea. However, something must've went wrong, because she appeared on this 'side of the world,' not in the Seventh Singularity.

'Femme Fatale' means 'Women of Destiny,' which was quite confusing to her, and yet at the same time understandable.

She still loved humanity, even when her children, and their children, had hurt her. With this body's memories of life, she knows that most humans are the same as them, sometimes prideful, arrogant, and rude.

In the end, she still loves them.

Perhaps her love for them is because of this...

She opened her status, and looked at a particular skill.

===============================

[Self-Sealing: C+++]

-A chain of self-mutilation that ties down Beast II. Although Beast II hated her grief of being banished for "not being needed anymore" by the collective unconsciousness of humanity, the depths of her consciousness accepted that as something inevitable. Beast II, who has the role "mother" as her foundation, possesses a desire to function as a patron of humanity to the very end. This Self-Sealing is something that has become that form.

Everytime Beast II acts against humanity with bad intentions, damage is given to her at a constant rate. Damage increases when she is outside of the sea.

Tiamat unconsciously sighed, looking at the skill.

'Is this why I'm...always hopelessly loving my children, even if they...hurt and tossed me away?'

She shook her head sadly.

'I have Luck EX...what kind of luck do I have if I get rejected by the world, my children, and my descendants?'

While she was pondering on her entire life's meaning, a voice rang throughout the field of grass and flowers.

"Tia! It's time to bring the children in for lunch! Tia!"

Tia looked up at the sound of an old voice calling for her. She then stood up, dusting her black robe with a hand. The other one was occupied by the baby girl.

"Come along children, it's time for lunch."

""Okkaayyyyy!""

The rest of the children all gathered up around me, yawning and complaining.

'Children will always be children,' Tiamat thought, smiling while looking at the scene. It was almost everything she always wanted.

Holding the youngest child in her hands, she shepherd the others to the orphanage, and to the old woman who was waiting outside.
