First Day on Street
Woken up by the sound of a bird poking it's beak on a something that sounded like a wooden surface Emily sat up relaxing her back on the wall her eyes caught a little bird trying to caught a worm it was so consentrated in doing it and Emily found it interesting brought back to reality by a sharp pain she felt on her back Emily got up to take a little stretch .
After a while she picked up her bag and was about to leave when it came to her mind that she has no place to sleep the next day she decided to mark that spot hers though she didn't felt comfortable sleeping there she knew she would get used to it
Waking up that same morning Mrs Sarah went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast when she heard her daughter from behind
" mom I can't find Emily" she said " " it not time for joke Ella go get ready for school" her mom said plainly Ella was confused why would she joke about her best friend going missing " mom it definitely not a joke,am sure she didn't sleep here last night" Leo said Mrs Sarah turned back facing the kids putting on a confused face " it true mom she's gone" leo repeated leaving the kitchen she headed to the kids room to check for her self pushing the door open she turned back confused when she found it empty by now Mr James her husband was behind her " but were could she have gone to" she said in a low and confused tone
" Mom come see this Emily left a note" Ella said holding up the piece of paper Emily left behind " I'm deeply sorry for making all of you worry about me I can't go the orphanage so I have decided to leave please don't find me I promised to be fine thanks for your help and concern" Ella read out loud pulling the piece out of Ella hands she read it herself
" but were could she have slept last night" she asked " on the street maybe" leo responded and he went upstairs to get ready for school Ella look at him with disdain In her eyes she knew they don't get along well put her should at least show concern Ella thought following her brother behind too
" I think we should go find her" she said
" she said we shouldn't" he replied
" but she just a kid " she insisted
" and needed some space " her husband replied " see I no she's still a kid but she needs some space to think and calm down a bit" her husband continued in a convincing manner , responding with a nod Mrs Sarah made her way back to the kitchen still thinking about Emily " were would she have gone to " she said to her self thoughtfully
Coming out of the station Emily could feel the cool breeze blowing against her body it was due to last night rain heading into the street again she had to take a shower in order not to stink " but were " she thought walking further due west Emily entered a shopping mall it was indeed big and gigantic she was surprised to find it open so early
Finding her way to the bathroom Emily took a shower changed her clothes and came out she now felt comfortable and calm walking out of the restroom she walked around the mall as if she could afford anything thing just moving around to keep herself busy and to satisfy her eyes Emily walked out of the mall finding people on the street not scared of being hurt " hey stop there " a man yelled she turned around and saw a man and a young lady chasing a boy he ran as fast as his small legs could carry him entering into a nearby corner he was out of sight Emily stood there wondering what was happening when it occurred to her that the boys stole from a nearby bakery the man and young lady ran past her as if they were going to caught up with the boy soon
Holding her bag close to her she continued after walking for some time she stop by a water fall to rest sitting down she decided to go through her stuff opening her bag she found some few clothes about three more a sweet and just two dollars she took out the money kept it under one of her thigh and tried to put back her things when someone ran and stood in front of her and looked at her Emily been confused looked at her back before she could say anything the girl grab her money and ran Emily was caught off guard and didn't see it better " that my money " she yelled standing up she would have known better now she had no money to buy breakfast was she going to go hungry that morning she always had breakfast she can't do with out it but now she had to because she was an orphan shaking the thought out of her head she grabbed her bag about to leave the fall when she saw some golden coins in it , it was a wishing fountain taking her sight of there she walked away she couldn't carry what is not hers she wasn't a thief
Emily left the fountain and headed towards a bakery store remembering she had a few coins she went in standing at the entrance she inhaled all aroma coming from around it made her belly growled for more she held to her tummy and went to the counter with only 6 coins " how much is your cheapest loaf?"she asked knowing she wouldn't have any she just hope for the best
" just a dollar" the counter man answered
" what can I get with only she five coins" she continued
" nothing" he said plainly looking at the man with a pleading eye and a disappointed tone saying " thanks" she walked away
sitting opposite the glass window she looked at the breads , cakes, donuts and other things displayed on the show shelf as if she would get satisfied by doing that looking at the girl that sat outside he felt guilty and concerned grabbing a few bread he went out to meet her
" I'm sorry for looking at it like that" she said with fear in her tone
" no problem " he said " I think you drop this" he said holding out a nylon bags that contains bread " no it's not mine couldn't afford anything" she said politely " I think you should have it" he said calmly dropping it on the sit he went back into the store .
