Reincarnating into a Game

Upon hearing Ystur's words, Astur uses her Scholar's Eye of Insight to see Ystur's status. Given the large difference in their levels, Astur can see the full status of Ystur without missing anything and immediately notices something. Other than being unable to sense the soul imprint she left in the homunculus creation process, on Ystur's status, under the species isn't the name Homonculus, but rather, Infinity Wolf.

In actuality, Astur should have failed at creating a homunculus. The reason being is that a homunculus is meant to be an artificial Human, but Astur had mixed in her blood during the creation which should have resulted in a failed creation due to not being Human. But because of a certain intervention that went unnoticed by Astur, she succeeded in creating life but failed in her overall goal of creating a homunculus servant.

"Uhh, stay here for a moment and don't touch anything. I need to make a call," Astur says while rubbing her temple before stepping out of her workshop.

Now alone, the confused Ystur begins to fully take in her situation.

"That was Astur, right? An NPC from Eternal Universe Online, I remember seeing her often on Blaze's recent streams. Cosplay? No this is too detailed for cosplay, and that still doesn't explain how I'm alive," Ystur thinks.

Going over the most recent event in her memory, Ystur clearly remembers getting smashed in the head and ran over by a truck. But as a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things related to ACG, her next thought is, "Did I reincarnate into Eternal Universe Online?"

Following her knowledge of how this kind of thing works in novels, Ystur thinks, "Status," causing the holographic status screen to appear before her. Naturally, having just been reborn, she's only level 1, but she notices that she has unusually high stats as well as a few strong abilities. Most of her abilities right now are the same racial abilities that Astur has, but that's not all that was inherited. Essentially being the daughter of Astur, Ystur is also a natural-born Demigod and has her own Divine Authority derived from Astur's domain. Although weaker and less extensive compared to Astur's Authorities, as for as Ystur is concerned, her new abilities are more than enough to help her.

[Authority - Congregation of Life (Passive)]: Ystur heals for 0.5% of her total health per second.

[Authority - Astral Walk (Passive/Active)]: Ystur can passively see beings and constructs of the Astral Plane. Ystur can shift herself in and out of the Astral Plane.

[Authority - Eyes of Decay (Active)]: Upon focusing on a target and gathering her energy in her eyes, Ystur can cause the health of her target to fall at a rate of 0.5% of their total health per second.

Compared to the myriad of abilities that Astur has, Ystur is certainly lacking. But most natural-born Demigods don't even inherit their ancestor's Divine Authorities, Astur is an outlier due to her divine nature and Source, the basis and origin of every being's purpose. Ystur is already in a good position being able to inherit three of Astur's Divine Authorities, even if they are weaker than Astur's.

Taking a deep breath, Ystur slowly exhales. She then proceeds to jump up and down in place, "This is amazing!" she says with tears forming in the corner of her eyes. "I can take deep breaths without feeling any pain! I can move excessively without feeling winded! After the doctor gave me a death sentence, I never thought I would be able to move like this ever again!"

Being too distracted by her new healthy body, Ystur fails to notice that Astur is peeking in and listening through the barely open door. When Astur had first left the workshop, she had been thinking as to whether or not she should kick Ystur out since she wasn't was Astur had wanted, an obedient servant. But before making any decisions, Astur decided to call the person most likely to be responsible for this event, her grandfather, Akkre. And just as she suspected, Akkre was the culprit behind this event, as for his reasoning, he only thought it would be funny and amusing. But she also learned a bit about the person Ystur used to be. While not even Astur herself would claim she's a good person, she did feel a little bad for her after hearing about Ystur's past. But when Akkre said he wanted to see his new great-granddaughter in person, Astur immediately got upset and claimed that Ystur wasn't her daughter. Although as far as blood relations and genetics are concerned, for all intents and purposes, the two are mother and daughter.

Upon returning to her workshop and seeing Ystur excited for simply being able to breathe and move like a normal person, Astur quickly changed gears and threw away her previous dissatisfaction over her failure to create a homunculus. Choosing to take care of her and let her stick around, Astur fully pushes the door open, drawing the attention of Ystur.

"So, do you know what your name is? Or do I have to repeat it?" Astur asks.

While she was still in a slight daze when Astur first gave her a name and didn't register it at the time, Ystur has already seen her status and was quickly made aware of her new name, "It's Ystur, Ystur Kojuuin."

Astur briefly flinches as she hears the family name, understanding that Ystur probably has the same NPC-Player hybrid status that Astur and her other relatives have so Ystur has likely seen her status screen. And Astur is almost certain that it was Akkre who had messed with the System to give Ystur a family name.

"Although you aren't the homunculus servant I had originally intended to create, you're still someone I have a responsibility to look after, being a life I created, so you can take one of the empty bedrooms upstairs as your own. After you get situated, I guess I can show you around the city and introduce you to the people here," Astur says.

Unbeknownst to Astur, Akkre had done more than just send reincarnate someone and give them their family name. As Astur turns around to guide Ystur out from the workshop and up to her new room, Ystur receives a new quest.

[Quest: Recognise Your Parent (Rank F)]

[Description]: As your creator, Astur is your mother, so recognise her as such. Just because she is a bit cold doesn't mean she doesn't care for you, she's just a tsundere.

[Rewards]: +40,000 EXP

[Failure Penalty]: None

Ystur is surprised over the obviously inflated amount of experience for such a simple quest and an F rank quest at that. Of course, she's a little suspicious over such a strange quest, but she can't get over the temptation of such a large amount of experience points.

"Even though I wasn't what you were expecting, thanks for giving birth to me, mom," Ystur says.

Instantly, Astur stops in her tracks, "Don't call me that, I'm not your mother! I don't look that old!"

Although she decided to take care of her, Astur definitely won't admit to being Ystur's mother… at least publicly.
