Let It Run Its Course

"A shower? Baby, are you sure of that?"

He cupped her face in his palms to make her look at him, and asked her again, "You sure you want a shower? We need to cover your wound so it won't get wet, and at the same time, it would be difficult for you to wash up with that."

She pursed her lips, thinking of what he said. "But I'm hot. I want to take a shower."

"Baby, we do really need to talk and that involves your antics when you are drunk," his forehead creased with the notion of her doing these things with another man. A wave of irrational anger rose from his chest.

She dropped her head on his shoulder as she sulked, mumbling under her breath, "Why can't I take a shower...I want a shower," she whined.

"Baby, forget me being a doctor, I am now a monk. I need to cleanse myself of all the sins of this world."He took a deep sigh, picked her up from the corner of the sofa, and carried her to her bedroom.
