I woke up seeing that everything was new and different in my eyes, my best friend of three years is not the man I love. Don't get me wrong who would like this nigga right here. I developed early which isn't nothing new from my family I hit my target height at 6'3", so when I heard that Derrick had feelings for me, I had to act on them. I've been in love with this nigga for a while now. I'm not going to lie I am a nerd on the inside but on the outside, I am a hard ass nigga but before that my inner nerd was on full display and I did care, and Derrick, Maven, and James looked out for me when Mitchell decided that it was a good idea to pick on me. Let me take y'all back to that day.

*7th Grade*

I was sitting on the steps of our middle school reading one of my manga books for, Saint Seiya and I was minding my own business when Mitchell Dumas and his crew came to me and knocked my book out of my hand. I tensed up and out of nowhere he pushed me down and I felt if I stood my ground, he would leave me alone.

Derrick: Hey what the fuck are y'all doing to him, if y'all want to go fight me then and I handle all of y'all then my brother will take y'all out too.

Mitchell: Say dude nobody was talking to you and the rat pack over there so chill.

Maven: Say my nigga you talking but aren't doing shit

James: Bitch, who the fuck wants it?

Mitchell: Alright, yo nerd I will see yo ass sooner than later.

They back off I ran over to them.

Me: Thank you for that, I've been dealing with and ignoring them all day, my name is Malik, pleased to meet you.

I bowed to him and his brother whom I thought he was going to laugh and he didn't. The curly-haired one introduced everyone to me.

Derrick: Hey what's up, I am Derrick, this is my big bro Maven and this firecracker over here is James.

James: What were they bothering you about.

Me: Something I did in class today I'm not sure.

Maven: Well don't worry we got you back and we always will.

They all held up the live long and prosper sign to me and I returned the favor and from that day I was hooked to the Jones brothers and James, but especially Derrick.

*2yrs ago*

Well needless to say Derrick has been my #1 fan since that time until I left to go to Military School. I told my dad that I wanted to toughen up and be more assertive and I did that, but I didn't tell Derrick. When I talked to James, he told me that Derrick started dating Mitchell and if I didn't get my ass back to Dallas, I was going to lose my love. I made it back to Dallas and it was just as I feared I saw Derrick and Mitchell together laughing and talking like there was nothing wrong that's when I saw Maven and James sitting on the steps to Maven's house, so I walked up to them and I saw the look in James' eyes.

James: Malik?!

Me: Yup it's me

Maven: Damn boy what did you do eat some Wheaties

Me: Naw I needed that vacation away to get better and look better for you know who

Maven: So you know that he is dating your enemy

Me: Look at me now, do it look like I am afraid? I can handle him trust me.

Just then Derrick walks over to Mitchell and still doesn't know who I am so I played it off.

Derrick: Hey y'all, who is this?

James: Oh, he is an old friend from my old neighborhood.

Derrick: Well hi, my name is Derrick, and this is Mitchell, my boyfriend, what's your name?

Maven: Well I think you should try to ask him some questions about stuff you like and try to guess

Derrick: Ok, well what shows do you like?

Me: I watch Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Voyager and I watch Yu-Gi-Oh

Derrick: I like all of those shows, we would have to get together and watch them sometime

Mitchell: Like the fuck you will, I don't trust dude he may try to break us up, fuck him.

Me: Say my nigga I don't know your fam, nor do I give a fuck, I will beat your ass right here and I know for a fact that no one on these steps will jump in because they know me.

Mitchell: You want to go bro.

Maven: Aye yo, Derrick take that nigga on somewhere, better yet Mitchell get the fuck off my porch and take yo ass home before I whoop yo ass.

Derrick: By, Mitchell I will see you tomorrow

James: No you won't he is cooked y'all are over goodbye.

Derrick: Y'all please tell who this dude is

Me: It's me, baby, I came back for you.

Derrick: No way, Malik

Me: Yes, baby it's me and I am glad to be home

Derrick: Where did you go? You didn't say anything to me.

Me: What could I say, baby I am weak, and I am going somewhere to be a man, so I can be a better man for you

Derrick: I am only glad your back

Me: We are like birds of a feather

Derrick: We flock together

I picked my baby up and spun him around just then Maven and James were cheering for us, but I know something else about me that I didn't tell Derrick, I've been working for his dad while I been away too, if I tell him that I know it will kill him too much.

*Present Day*

Me: Yes, baby

Derrick: I was just checking on you

Me: I am good baby, are you eating?

Derrick: Yes, I am, you know it

Me: Ok, baby but I am going to handle some business and I will call you later tonight and put you to sleep

I hung up the phone with Derrick and turn my attention back to this nigga I am finna kill, I looked out the corner of my eye and see my mentor Jimmy and he nodded his head, and then I pulled the trigger, and just like that my kills went up to 50 and it felt good.

Jimmy: You're getting good kid

Me: I am trying to get like you

Jimmy: I know, Malik but when are you going to tell Derrick

Me: Never sir he can't know this

Jimmy: That you are a cold-blooded killer

Me: Yes, but I don't regret it at all, you made me the man that I am today, and I will protect what's mine and that would be my love for Derrick

Jimmy: I know you love him but are you ready to deal with this scar on you

Me: Yes, sir I am

Jimmy: Come on, let's get to the warehouse and get cleaned up

Me: Good so I can talk to my baby

We returned to the Warehouse and changed clothes just then Dexter walked in to have a quick conversation with Jimmy, and I let them talk and I pulled out my phone and called my baby to check on him.

Derrick: Hey baby, wyd

Me: Nothing finishing up getting ready to go home for the evening

Derrick: Baby, I miss you

Me: I miss you more baby and I will see you in the morning when you wake me up, but I wanted to hear your voice before you went to sleep.

Derrick: I will see you in the morning baby I love you

Me: Love you too

Just after hanging up Jimmy and Dexter walked back over and then Jimmy broke some news to me.

Jimmy: Well Malik looks like I have a job being a part of a Mob Squad

Me: What does that mean?

Dexter: It means that he won't be doing secret missions with you and you can go back to school and be with Derrick and lead a normal life.

Me: Just like that but I was good, and I want to continue

Jimmy: Malik, you can go be a kid and take my son out on dates what he's been waiting on and I know you've been wanting to do that.

Me: Jimmy, you have been a father to me these last years and I thought I was in for the long haul

Dexter: Jimmy, this happened 2 years ago, remember Maven?

Jimmy: Fine, ok look Malik I'm taking you home and I don't want to hear another word about you wanting to do this anymore. I will put your money in your account everything that I save for you will be in your account in the morning. You will lead a normal life and I don't want to hear about this anymore, I am dead serious.

Me: Yes, sir

Jimmy: Good let's go

Jimmy dropped me off at the house and I walked in greeted my Dad as he was going to his and mom room to go to sleep and I walked into my room to scream in my pillow and I could think of nothing else then I remembered what Dexter said about Maven and I called my brother-in-law.

Maven: Talk on it

Me: Bro

Maven: What's up big man?

Me: What happened to you and your dad 2 years ago?

Maven: Well long story short, I was collecting intel for dad and he cut me off from doing it talking about lead a normal life.

Me: Damn, well if I am going to be honest remember he called a secret assassin to kill then high-priced people

Maven: Yea all the people I collected intel on

Me: Well I was that killer and I got cut off from him tonight and he told me the same thing now I don't know what to do

Maven: Have you told Derrick anything?

Me: No

Maven: Good, don't say shit because that would kill him, and I don't want that, but I will say this I miss collecting intel the only person that knows is this dude I talk to that lives in Japan

Me: Damn so what are we going to do?

Maven: Chill for now, then we will be back in the game somehow

Me; Ok, brother-in-law I will see you tomorrow and we will talk some more.

I went to sleep, and I couldn't help but to dream about my kills, the look of fear and tears they had it was a rush and I love the thrill of the hunt. My alarm went off at 7 am to get ready for school and you know that I didn't get up at all. It was 7:45 am and I felt my bed dip in, so I knew that it was my baby but instead of waking me up he blessed me in another way.

Derrick: Good morning sleepy head

Me: If I can get that every morning, I will sleep longer then

Derrick: Maybe, but since today is Saturday I wanted to see if we could chill today since you have to work later on

Me: No I don't that job ended, and I am free now

Derrick: I am sorry babe I know how much you like that job

Me: It's cool babe, I will find another but babe I need to know why you showed up here with no draws on.

Derrick: Well you know that I free ball so…lol

Me: That's true you want to take a shower with me?

Derrick: Well, since my big man asked me so nicely.

Me: C'mon, let's go get in.

I washed my baby and then he washed me, and we laid in my bed watching Star Trek: Voyager all morning. My life has never been better than it is now.
