Chapter 21

"Young miss." Kelly shrugged me off.

I opened half of my eyes and discovered that it was already morning.

"...What's going on Kelly?" I asked in a hoarse voice.

I got up from the bed and stretched my limbs.

"It's the day of lady Sabrina's birthday." She said.

"...What time does it start again?"

"The letter said it starts at 6 pm." Kelly replied.

"Hmm. Let's buy some gift for her then."

Kelly helped me dress up for a momentary outing and I asked permission to go out.

As usual, Justin and Kelly came with me.

We went to a gift shop and I wandered around for a moment to see what kind of accessory suits the birthday girl.

After glancing around, I saw one that caught my eye.

"Excuse me, how much is this?" I asked.

"Oh, you have good eyes young lady. That one's very rare. It costs a thousand gold."

'One thousand gold?...I guess it's a worthy gift.'

"I'll take this then. Please wrap it prettily." I said.

"Of course young lady."

Even though I know that she'll either use or throw this, I still need to bring my pride as a noble with me.

At the Seymour Estate...

"My lady." Justin stopped for a moment.

"What's wrong Justin? They said that escorts are alllowed inside. So don't worry." I said.

His face brightened the moment I said that.

"Invitation please." The person in front of the door said.

"Here." I gave him the card.

He received the card and nods. "You may come in. Please enjoy." He said as he bowed.

I just nodded and went straight inside.

When we got inside, the insides looked more luxurious than the first time I got here.

Thr pink-haired villainess then went towards us.

"I greet you a happy birthday Lady Sabrina. Thank you for inviting this person from a humble nobility." I curtsied.

"Oh my, I'm thankful that you came Lady Moriana." She said.

"I brought my gift for you. I hope it suits your taste." I said.

She opened the box and saw a rare jeweled hairpim.

It contained ruby and the craftmanship was very detailed.

"Oh my, thank you so much Lady Moriana. Can I wear this now?"

"Of course. It really suits your pink locks."

She pinned it to her hair and she looked wickedly beautiful.

"Wow, you really look beautiful Lady Sabrina."

"Oh my, where did you get that hairpin my lady?"

"That really suits your hair color Lady Sabrina!"

Complements started showering her one by one.

"Then, I hope you enjoyed the gift I gave you Lady Sabrina." I said it as softly as possible.

"Yes. Please enjoy the night." Sabrina said while grinning.

I just curtsied and walked away from the people that crowded her.

..

'I have nothing else to say but... this is all too boring!!'

What the people mostly did here was just talk, negotiate, and gossip.

I want to escape this corrupted place.

I was sitting in a sofa with Justin standing beside me.

While sitting, I noticed that the chandelier was very huge. It contained many whole jewels, probably diamonds, and it totally lit the whole area.

'I wonder how much it costs.'

After minutes of glancing my eyes around, I saw a familiar head. Two of them actually.

"Anna!" Shasha ran towards me as soon as she met my gaze,

"Hello, Lady Moriana." The heroine also greeted me.

"Hi." Well, isn't this awkward.

"Anna? Do you know her?" Shasha asked.

"Apologies for my rudeness. I am Stella Richmond. Daughter of Baron Richmond." She introduced.

"Hi. I'm Patricia Cornwall. A pleasure to meet you." Shasha greeted back.

The music suddenly started but it had a different genre.

"Oh, the music has started. This one's intended for noble women only. Come with me!" Shasha grabbed both of mine and the heroine's hand.

'Ah, so this song is like a disco in the past?'

The three of us then started circling around and other women were doing the same.

It was like we're doing ring around the roses.

Suddenly, I felt something ominous.

*Crack*

I heard a loud crack and guess what?

It was the chandelier.

And the worse part is, we were dancing in the center floor, where the chandelier was placed above it.

Before the chandlier get to fall completely, I pushed Shasha and the heroine on the floor so that they won't get hurt.

"Anna!"

"Lady Moriana!"

"My lady!"

Baam!

The chandelier entirely fell.

I heard shouts and gasps from other peoplr.

'What happened?'

"Are you alright my lady?" I saw Justin in front of my face.

He was holding me in a bridal style and I saw the chandelier behind him.

'My gosh, thank goodness Justin had quick reflexes'

"Thank you Justin. What happened to the others?" I said.

He put me down and stared at me for a moment.

"You should really take care of yourself first my lady." He said seriously.

"..Sorry."

"From what I saw, it seems like no one got injured. Everyone was almost safe except you." He said.

"Anna! Where are you?!" I heard Shasha's voice from the other side.

"I'm here."

"Thank goodness you're safe. Did your knight save you?" She asked.

I nodded in reply.

"You have a good knight." She complemented.

"Attention everyone. We alologize for this unexpected event. For further safety measures, we jave decides to cancel this party and continue it with the family only." Duke Seymour stood and announced amongst the crowds.

"Please proceed to the exit area and we apologize for this event once again. May Nirvana's blessing be upon all of you." He said.

All the nobles then started scattering and went home one by one.

"I'll see you later Anna. Stay safe!" Shasha bid me goodbye.

I waved my hand at her and saw her departing image.

"Lady Moriana. I can't find words to thank you enough. Thank you so much for saving my life." She bowed.

"It's nothing. Please stay safe." I said.

"Yes. May Nirvana's blessing be upon you." She curtsied.

'Well, I guess the party didn't go well.'

I then went home together with Justin.

When we arrived at home, Kelly asked me the latest gossips and I told her the things that happened earlier.

Her reaction was so priceless that it made me laugh.

'Really, nothing suits me better than home.'

***

"Aaaarghhh!!"

A lady's scream was heard from somewhere far.

She was breaking the furnitures and made a mess in the room.

"My lady, please calm down!" Her lady in waiting said.

"Shut up! Get out right now!"

The maid then went out with a pale face.

"Why? Why can't you just die?! The plan was already perfect!!" She said as she tore her picture in pieces.

"I'll make you regret for being alive." She muttered.

"But first, I need to get rid of that peasant knight of hers."

The lady then opened her crystal ball.

"Let's proceed to the last plan. Make sure you don't fail this one. It's the last and I'll pay you ten times if you succeed this time."

"Yes, boss."

'Hahh...please just die already.'
