"Well I'm sorry Miss Deere, we can't have you under our care much longer. It's been too many years, and we still haven't had any luck in recovering your childhood memories," Sandra, my counselor says. I begin to cry.
"But please Sandra! I need your help now more than ever. I just got hired as a detective for the New York City FBI! I'll need a lot of help staying stable to keep this job!" I beg.
"Aleah, you know you can't manipulate the system like that," she says with a voice of disappointment.
"Fine! I hate you and the system! Never call me into office again!" I yell as I storm out of the office.
I return home to my apartment at about five in the evening. "What should I eat for dinner?" I ask myself. I look in the fridge and see I haven't eaten any of my steaks yet. I only have like ten packages of steak. So I take one package out and prepare to use the stove. I hate the electric ones but that's all I have in the apartment. It's even too cold outside to cook on the grill. So I throw the pan with the steaks on it on the stove. I get my favorite seasoning out; cajuan seasoning. I start the stove and watch the steaks closely because I like my steaks medium-rare. Once I was able to tell they're done, I turn the stove off and let my steaks sizzle a little longer. After they stopped sizzling, I get a plate and silverware out. I put the steak on the plate and set it on the table. I go to the sink to wash my hands. As I am washing my hands, I saw someone behind me. He had red hair and deep green eyes. I turn around quickly, but no one's there. So I continue washing my hands. After I am done, I turn the water off. I return to the table and begin eating my steaks. I can't help but to wonder if someone is watching me. That guy I saw in the mirror just moments ago, I feel like I already know him. As I am finishing my last steak, I suddenly get an uneasy feeling. I ignore it and eat my last bite. I get up from the table to put my dishes in the sink. "I'll wash them tomorrow evening. I got to get ready for bed. because I start work tomorrow." I think to myself. So I set the dishes down gently into the sink.
I get ready for a shower by getting my nightgown and towel out of the dryer. I put the toilet seat down gently and set my stuff down on it. I begin to get an uneasy feeling that someone or something is watching me. I try to shake it off, but did not succeed. So I locked the bathroom door. I normally don't lock it because I live alone. But tonight feels off. I begin to undress from my old work uniform. I don't plan on throwing it away, even though I got a new, and even better job as a detective. I chose that career path because I feel like it would be helpful. Although I can't see my counselor anymore, I'm still going to try to find out what happened to my childhood memories. I start the cold water, because I've always preferred cold water to bathe in. I'm not sure why. I usually prefer taking baths, too. But my apartment does not have a bathtub. I take my time washing my hair and body.
About half an hour later, I get out and start drying off. After I was well dried, I slipped my nightgown on over my head. I am beginning to brush my hair. Then I saw him, his reflection on the mirror; firey copper hair, and forest green eyes. He looks familiar to me but I can't put my finger on it. I turn around to see if he's still there. He was not. Forgetting my childhood memories and now I 'm seeing things? I must be going insane. I quietly say to myself. I just brush it off and go to my bedroom. My bedroom is covered in wolf posters because I have always had a fascination with wolves. I turn my bedroom light off and make my way to my bed.
I toss and turn for awhile before I finally surrender to sleep. I start to dream of some woods with a big rock in the center looks strangely familiar. I see myself in these woods, frozen in time. All the sudden, I see a pack of wolves gathered around the big rock. They all begin to howl at the full moon. One of them starts to approach me, his fur unlike any other, the color of the sun. I freeze up in fear. Once he was right in front of me, he sits down on the ground. He begins to whimper sadly. He then transforms into a human. I couldn't believe what I just saw. This human was the one I thought I saw in the mirror behind me while I was getting ready for bed. Before I knew it, my alarm went off, waking me up from sleep. Today is the day that I start working as a detective.
