ch.08 The Truth

Red's P.O.V.

"Red wake up, alpha Roger is calling on your phone" Ava mumbled..

I stretched my arms and grab the phone from Ava's hand. I answered the call...

' dad? '

' good morning and happy birthday my jewel '

' thanks dad '

' where are you? '

' I'm with Jason and Ava '

' were you sleeping? '

' I was '

' sorry, I had to call so early '

' it's okay dad, you can call me whenever you want, wait what time is it? '

' it's 5 in the morning, come see me for breakfast '

' okay dad, I'll be home in 30 minutes '

' okay, see you soon sweety, I love you '

' bye dad I love you too '

I stood up and grab a glass and filled it with water to drink, "good morning and happy birthday!" Jason and Ava mumbled and hugged me.

" thank you guys " I got squeezed from their hugs.

"we need to go home now, my father wants to have breakfast with me" I mumbled. " okay, I'll go start the car"

" Ava let's go" I shouted, " coming" she ran and went inside the car.

25 minutes later we arrive at the pack. I went straight to my dad's office to see him. " good morning dad"

" good morning sweety, you can go on ahead, I'll just clean my desk and catch up" he mumbled while cleaning his desk. " okay don't take too long" I said and he nodded.

I went to the dinning room and Caleb was already there with a few pack soldiers eating and chatting. " Alpha Ruby, good morning and happy birthday!" they all stood up and greeted me "thank you guys, you may carry on"

"may I know what you want for breakfast dear? oh and happy 18th birthday" Mrs. Holmes asked. "thank you Mrs. holmes, I'd like some croissant and scrambled eggs and a cup of coffee please"

"here you go dear, enjoy your breakfast" she handed me a plate full of croissant and scrambled eggs, and a cup of coffee. "thank you"

"I'll have pancakes and coffee" Dad said behind me and kissed my forehead. "Alpha good morning" Caleb and the pack members mumbled " good morning" he said.

"so it's, your 18th birthday today, what do you want to do?" Dad asked me and I smiled. "Dad, there's something I need to tell you" I said, playing on my plate with the fork on my hand.

"what, is it a problem?" he said in a worried look. "no, I mean, kinda... it's complicated actually,but I don't think we should talk about it in here"

"okay sweety, however you like," one of Mrs. Holmes kitchen assistant placed a plate full of pancake in front of Dad, "thank you" he mumbled.

Dad glanced at me "whatever it is we can fix it, right now I need to go to work" he started eating his pancakes. "okay dad" I mumbled not sure to be okay or not if I tell dad about this, but his the alpha and my father, he needs to know this and maybe he'll know what to do.

"are you okay?" Dad placed his hand on my shoulder with a concerned tone of his voice "I'm okay dad, I'm just...not sure if I should be"

"what's wrong?... tell me, if you need to talk to me about this now, I can stay here and not go to work." he offered, it's been a while since me and dad had a decent conversation, because he is always at work. I should probably take this chance to talk to him, the sooner he knows the sooner we can fix this problem.

'my mate is a human' I mind link him so no one can hear me, my dad's eyes widened. "office, now!" he ordered furiously. I knew he's not going to be happy once he knows, but I was prepared for it.

I immediately followed him to his office and locked the door. "dad, I understand that you're angry right now, but the Goddess must have her reason for giving me this fate" I reasoned

He's mad right now, but when he heard my opinion I can sense that he is trying to be calm and not lose control. Dad never gets too angry when it comes to me, but this time was an exception. He is trashing his office, slamming and throwing things, I don't know why he is so mad about this, but I can't blame him.

"when did you found out your mate was a human?" he calmed down and pinched the bridge of his nose "just recently when he transfered to my school" I told him honestly. "Are you sure he is a human?"

"yes" I said and he slammed his hand on his desk. "sorry" dad apologize for his violent reaction.

He stood at the window for a minute and I waited for his opinion.

"we can't have a human in this pack" he said and turned around to look at me. "but dad he's my mate"

"we don't have a choice Ruby! if the high tables know about this, they will not hesitate to kill your mate and those who stands on their way." I can see the fear on his eyes.

The high tables are the ones that are a direct descendants of the moon Goddess, blessed with unmatchable strength and immortality, there are five of them namely Lucius and Lucian the twin, Dolphus the eldest, Morrigan and Skadi the twin females, and each of them have unique abilities that only they possess.

"dad please," I cried. "I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do against them" he said calmly and embraced me.

I wiped my tears as of they didn't occur, crying wasn't my thing since I was born an alpha and trained to be the alpha. I needed to be strong physically and emotionally. I already knew dad was going to say things like this.

"Bring him here" I quickly tilted my head to him "what?" I reciprocated from the words that he just said.

"you heard me" it was loud and clear "are you sure?" a light of hope touched my soul when he asked me. "crystal" he said and smirked.

"you want him right?" he mumbled, "more than anything" I said proudly and smiled. "do you have a plan for him?" I asked.

"I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a try." he said and I hugged him immediately, thank you dad!"

"anything for you my jewel" he kissed my forehead.

I went to school with Ava, Jason already left the pack house after breakfast due to some homework he forgot to do.

after and hour I saw Finn on his locker and I went to him congratulate him on his performance yesterday.

"good morning Finn" I said and he turned around and our eyes met for a second, he turn his face down. He must've felt embarrassed to what happened to him yesterday with me.

"you're audition yesterday was brilliant Finn, I knew you could do it" I complimented.

I can hear his heart beating fast, thanks to my heightened senses. He looks bothered and I wonder why, he keeps staring down. I leaned closer and cupped his face. " are you okay? " I said.

He looked me in the eyes and I smiled. "yeah, I'm good" he mumbled and we just stare into each other's eyes and lips, his body was bending towards me and I didn't fight it.

I can feel our bond pulling us closer, he reciprocated by holding my hand on his cheeks, his touch is warm and soothing, I feel like I can't get enough if I dive into his embrace and his scent is so relaxing.

This time he doesn't break an eye contact until our faces are close to each other. I placed my other hand on his chest and felt his heart beating.

Suddenly the bell rang and startled him and pulled away. I was a second close to kissing him, but the time has it's own plan.

"I, I better go" he mumbled scratching the back of his neck, "wait, we have the same class let's walk there together" I suggested and smiled at him. "okay" he said.

We together on the same pace and felt his hand swaying touching my skin.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...uhm" he mumbled, "it's ok, you don't have to be sorry" I said and I just looked at him. Just seeing him everyday completes me, how much more if we were already tied to each other.

"do you wanna..uhm" he mumbled shyly and slowly. He glanced at me and he is blushing, I'm happy that I can make him feel like he has butterfly in his stomach.

"what is it?" I said and held his hand, "I-uh...uhm, I guess that's a yes?" was he trying to asking me out, he didn't even finished and I just chuckled "are you asking me out?" I asked and he nodded, he is acting very cute and attractive when he is around me.

"so, friday?" I don't even have to say yes anymore and just suggested the date "yeah, friday sounds great!" he quickly mumbled after me.

He inhaled deeply like he was running out of air. That must've been a tough situation for him, I was feeling so overwhelmed right now that he just asked me out on a date, well, kinda.

We held hands until we reach the room and sat next to each other, Ms. Caroline told us to partner up make a portrait of each other and so we did as we were told.

Finn was blushing throughout the time, he is being shy, but I'm sure that personality will be gone soon when we are officially together.

I feel like I'm obsessed of him, but that must've been because of our mate bond.

He showed me his worked and it is beautiful, it was perfect, he is talented and I was shy to shy him my work, but did it anyway not sure if he would like what I did to his face. I put a shade of red on his cheeks showing that he was blushing.

I can sense that he is being shy again and he blushed even more, but I just smiled at his reaction.

After that class was lunch time, I was about to invite him and join me for lunch, but it seems like he isn't going, he waved his hand at me and I did too. Maybe he is going somewhere important.

I let him go and frowned.

Ava and I met on the cafeteria and told her all the stuff that happened, she was shocked when I told her that Finn almost kissed me and I'm pretty sure she is already mind linking every wolf in school about Finn and I.

We waited in line in the cafeteria, Ava was ahead of me and was served first, "he's here" Ava shouted and left.

His scent occupied my nose once again and I can feel he is near, I glance at the direction and I saw Caleb gesturing him to sit on the table along with the few werewolves.

I quickly ordered the food that I want and as soon as the worker handed me a tray of foods I went to join them on the table.

I heard Jason and Ava laughing at him, Ava was joking around saying that she is his new best friend.

"you guys stop messing around Finn" I mumbled from a distance and joined the table, I sat on the opposite side of Finn "you know this guys?" he leaned and asked me in a whisper, I know it was no use since they can hear us loud and clear

"yes, we're childhood friends, Ava and Jason are my best friends" I mumbled.

"so that explains why they're claiming me as their 'best friend' ". he scoffed whilee Ava and Jason laughed at the same time.

"yeah, they're just messing with you" I told him. "you should hang out with us" Ava mumbled. "Oh wait, you should come to the party tonight" Jason said.

My eyes widened and I figured out a way to bring him to the pack with me. There is a party that is going to be held in one of the popular kids in school and invited almost everyone.

"No, I can't, I have homework to do and I don't really like too crowded places," he tried to deny them, but Jason isn't accepting a no for an answer.

I just watch them hoping they would succeed on trying to convince him. "come on man, just this once, this is our last year in high school, I promise you won't regret it." Jason mumbled. "yeah he's right, you should come" Tracey mumbled and helped Jason to convince him.

"I don't know, I've never went to a party before" he mumbled "then that's plenty enough reason why you should come, you're missing the fun" Jason said and shook his shoulder. "Alright, fine, but just this once" Finn agreed.

"great, I'll pick you up at 8" Jason offered. "okay, I should go now and it's nice meeting you all" he stood up and glanced at me, waved my hand at him "see you later Finn," I mumbled and he nodded.

After lunch my phone vibrate in my pocket, I checked the phone and it was dad calling.

'yes, dad?'

'I arranged a party for you today, I was going to surprise you, but it seems like this opportunity will help you to have a reason to bring your boyfriend here'

'I already figured a way too, but it's okay it's still connected'

'okay good, I'll see you later sweety'

'okay dad'

I hanged up. This should work, but I need to convince Jason that I can pick Finn instead of him and told him that I'm having an 18th birthday party.

Later after school I manage to convince Jason and he texted me the address of Finn's house.

'6pm'

I rushed to my cabin and prepared, I dressed myself with an elegant red dress, my hair was still a mess, I texted Ava to help me and a minute later she came in a beautiful green dress.

She tied my hair neatly and elegant, when it comes to hairstyle Ava is the superior, all I know is tying it in a ponytail.

'8pm'

I drove off and went to the address that Jason gave me, I'm feeling nervous about this. I think Finn deserves to know about this before he meets my dad.

We haven't told anyone in the pack yet, the few ones who already knew about my human mate were told by Jason and Ava to not spread it in the pack.

I arrived in front of his house after a few minutes of driving, it almost took me an hour to arrive.

I check my looks and my hair before going to knock on the door, they didn't install a door bell so I had to knock.

A few seconds later the door opened, I'm feeling nervous about this. It was a woman probably age of 35, I assume this is Finn's mother. "good evening Mrs. Parker, I'm here to pick up Finn" I smiled at her and she looked at me from head to toe. "I'm Ruby Dayne Blackwood " I mumbled and gestured for a handshake.

"Olivia Parker, pleased to meet you" she shook my hand and smiled at me. "do you wanna come in and have a seat while we wait for Finn?" she offered.

"yeah, sure" I said and nodded. "I think he just ran to the bathroom, just give him a minute." Olivia mumbled. "it's okay, I've been waiting for him, a few more minutes won't hurt" I said and smiled. "You look so beautiful dear, are you sure you're going out to a party in that dress?" I just nodded.

"are you going out on a date with Finn" I was taken aback from her question. "uh yeah, we are, he just asked me this morning actually"

"that's great, I'm happy for both of you" she mumbled. "thank you Mrs. Parker"

"you can just call me Olivia there's no need for formalities" she mumbled and I just nodded and smiled. "let me call him so you both can leave"

Olivia stood turned around "Finn, there's a girl here looking for you" Olivia shouted calling Finn out and in just a second Finn showed up. "Finn!" I waved my hand to him. "hi" he said and smiled to me.

Finn walked in and he was wearing a plain white t-shirt, black jeans and a black n white sneakers. I might make him feel awkward and embarrassed, because I looked too formal for him, but I think it's ok.

"you weren't wearing a body spray, what changed" Olivia said and smirked. "mom stop you're embarrassing me!" I chuckled on his mom's trying to make him feel embarrassed.

"is she your girlfriend Finn?" Olivia mumbled and I blushed on the thought of being a girlfriend to Finn.

"mom stop, and no she's not" he mumbled and Olivia was just laughing at him "stop laughing, it's not funny!" he said.

"okay I'll just leave you guys now, you both have fun" Olivia mumbled and left heading straight to the stairs.

"I'm sorry about that, uhmm I thought Jason..." I stood up and walked closer to him. "yeah, he was stuck with Ava in the uhmm...Finn, there's something that I need to tell you" I trailed off and he just nodded.

"it's best if we talk somewhere private, maybe in my car?" I suggested. "uhh yeah, sure" I walked outside and he immediately followed me.

"is this your car?" he said pointing to my car and he was shocked to see my car, my dad bought it for me as a gift for my 18th birthday.

"yeah, it's my father's gift to me for my 18th birthday." his reaction tells me that he wasn't sure if I was telling the truth.

We got inside the car and I started driving, the atmosphere was getting awkward with the silence between us.

"so, uhm, what are we going to talk about?" I he said and I could hear his heart beating fast again, "it's actually weird and I might sound crazy to you but I need you to know about this." I said and he nodded "okay?" he said unsure.

we entered the route where it is known to be private and he was gazing outside, it was very dark with all the large trees and the only light that guided him was from the car, I didn't have problem seeing in the dark since I'm a werewolf "we're almost there" I said looking at him and smiled making sure he doesn't freak out.

After a few minutes we arrived, in a huge gate with guards on each side. I told them through mind link that it was and let us through.

"what is this place?" he asked looking outside the window, "you'll soon find out" I said. He looked amazed, wait til you see the pack house which is a castle.

"is that a castle?"he mumbled. "yep"

"wait is the party over there?" he glanced to here and I just nodded.

we reached the entrance to the pack house and I mind link the guards to let me through and so they did as I told them "what just happened" he asked confused.

"what?" I mumbled and glanced at him "the guards, they don't talk and just let us through" he said.

I didn't know what to tell him so I made up a reason, I should tell him before we go outside "they already know me so they just let us through" I explained, his face looked like he wasn't convinced by my reason.

I parked the car on the parking lot, judging from all the cars parked here, there are a lot of visitors, I should've told my dad to cancel this party but, the pack members would wonder why if I didn't have a party.

"Finn, this isn't a high school party, it's actually my 18th birthday party, Jason should've have been the one to pick you up, but you need to know this from me." I informed him with a concerned tone of voice.

he nodded, "okay, I'm listening." he said, "promise me you won't freak out" I said to him looking at his eyes and he just nodded.

"okay" I mumbled and let out a deep breath. "I'm not what you think that I am Finn"

"what do you mean?" he said, "I'm not normal" I mumbled "I don't get it, you looked completely normal and you're beautiful" he said and I blushed but "that's not what I meant"

"have you ever dreamed of a white wolf?" his eyes widened to my question. "how did you..."

he was confused and I got a little excited that he did "so you did" I exclaimed.

"how did you know?" he asked confusedly "let's take this slow, I don't want to freak you out" I said, trying to clear this out without freaking him out. "okay," he said.

"you're my mate Finn" I mumbled "what do you mean by 'my mate'?" he furrowed his brows. "we are fated mates, we are destined to be together" I explained, "what?... I don't understand."

"you wouldn't understand yet, because you're not like me" I said, "you're not making any sense Red, you keep on saying that you're different like you're not normal, but I don't see what makes you different" he snapped at me and he ran my hands through my hair.

He's confused I need to tell it to him straight to my point. "Finn, the wolf that you saw in your dream was me" I mumbled "you're still not making any sense" he doesn't believe me. This is hard to explain on my part, but there's no going back, I have to tell him the truth.

"look I'm trying to explain this to you and not freak you out" I said and held his hand, I looked at her and she is being serious. "I'm a werewolf Finn, that's what I meant by different" I said to him in a serious tone of my voice and looked at him in the eyes.

"prove it" he said, I leaned to cupped his cheeks to make him look at me in the eyes without breaking.

The atmosphere is getting hot. He is so innocent about this, I leaned closer and our lips we're an inch closer once again, but this time nothing is going to interrupt us and before I knew it, our lips touched, brushing against each other.

he placed his hands to my waist as we were kissing gently, he opened his mouth and my tongue find its way into his mouth. Our gentle kissed went to rough in mere seconds. my two hands are caressing his hair and I didn't stop kissing him.

he pulled away to catch his breath and looked into my eyes, Devon was getting excited and decided to try to take over.

"don't be scared Finn, I'm not gonna hurt you." I mumbled, "..." he doesn't speak and I can sense that he is getting scared of me.

"I'm a werewolf Finn and you're my mate, we are destined to be together." I mumbled.

"I'm done with whatever this is... just take me home" he said and I frowned.

"Finn just hear me out" I mumbled, he pulled his hand away and opened my door to get out.

He ran outside heading towards the gate "oh no" the guards didn't know about him being my mate. I went outside and ran to him, he stopped running and fall on his back.

One of the pack guards turned into a wolf then the other one followed. I ran as quickly as I can.

one of the pack guard is about to pounce on him with the intent to kill. I immediately shifted making my dress torn apart on my transformation.
