Stepping through the hospital door, the first thing I saw was Irina on the bed with her right arm elevated and in a cast.
She was awake and was looking straight at me, startled by the noise I made by rushing through the door. “What happened?! Are you okay?! What sort of accident was it?! Is it too serious?!” I asked quickly.
To be honest, I wasn’t even sure what I was asking about. All I saw was a dear friend of mine on a hospital bed with a possibly broken arm.
I hoped it was just a broken arm.
“Y-Yes, I’m good…” Irina said, her good hand resting on her rapidly beating heart. “You scared me! Can’t you just walk normally?”
“I...I came as fast as I could. Idris said—where is Idris?” I looked around the room but except Naina no one was there in the room.
“God, Aarav, can you just calm down and sit? Idris is outside, calling her father.” Naina pointed at the empty stool beside her. “I’m getting all anxious just looking at you. Just sit here.”
