She Improved

"So, he saw Stella at the airport?"

Luke said as he chewed his burger at lunch. We were at our table waiting for Scott and I was forced to talk to Luke while I awaited his arrival.

Ivy was sitting at a table with a bunch of girls. She glanced at me a few times and looked away.

If only someone else could join us at this table right now.

"Hey guys," Lucas moved in beside me.

"Fuck," I groaned.

"You missed me?" He rested his cheek on his palm and his elbow on the table.

"Yeah sweetheart," I smiled and winked while I stepped on his feet with my shoe.

"Owww!"

"Can I join you guys?" Max stood at our table carrying his tray.

"Yeah man, sure, "Lucas smiled at him.

He took a seat beside Lucas, set his tray on the table and started eating.

"My brother asked me to thank you. He was really happy that you stopped the wedding."

Luke and Lucas glanced at me then at him.

"Was he at the wedding?" Luke asked.

"Yeah, he was the best man. We..... "

"Hey Tess!" Alessia yelled as she ran to our table.

"You didn't pick up my calls yesterday. I called you so many times! I wanted you to check out a dress I just bought but you didn't answer."

Okay.

I'm confused.

Since when did we become friends?

"I'm sorry?"

"Apology accepted. Hey Luke, Lucas.."

"I wasn't even apolo.. "

"Who's he?" She pointed her manicured finger at Max.

Bingo.

That's the reason why she's being nice.

"Max, this is Alessia. Alessia, this is Max." He smiled at her while she wiggled her fingers seductively. "Let me tell you a few things about Alessia. She's the meanest, snobbiest and pretentious creature God has bestowed on our school. She's the queen bee here. She was only being nice to me because she thought I was friends with you. Anyway, my conclusion is that she's not someone you can be friends with."

Luke and Lucas were stifling their laughter. Max choked on his food and Alessia looked like she wanted to kill me.

"I've had enough!" She hit the table and the entire student body started looking at us. Ivy stood up and tried to walk closer to me. I stared hard at her.

Where did Scott go?

"You stole my spot, my fans and my school! Did you really think I was gonna let it slide, you bitch?" She splattered saliva all over my face.

What's wrong with this kid? It's not like she has braces on or anything.

"Move Alessia. I'm not in the mood to bicker with you today."

I sat down, extended my hand to pick my can of Coke but she was faster. She dumped the remainder of the liquid beverage onto my hair.

My precious hair!

I stood up fiercely, plugged my hands under her throat and pushed her until her back reached the wall. People were screaming. She tried to free herself from my grasp but it was impossible.

"Theresa, Theresa, let her go!" Luke shoved my hands but I budge. I hardened my grasp and she was choking.

"Theresa!" Luke pushed me and I clutched his neck too. He kept trying to free himself as his eyes watered.

"Miss Harvey! Someone stop her!" The principal ran into the cafeteria with some teachers.

They kept trying to free both of them but I held them securely under my palms. Alessia was so tired that she couldn't move anymore.

"Didn't you know that I had a bad temper? I have to trample on those who don't deserve respect!"

"Oh my God! Tess!" Scott ran into me and I lost my balance. Alessia was quickly carried away and Luke asked for water. Lucas stood there as if he was in a trance.

"Are you okay?" Scott cupped my cheeks. "Are you hurt anywhere?"

It felt as if my eyes were cleaned out. Everything became clear. I almost choked them to death.

"My office, now!" The principal roared.

"I'm sorry but you'll have to go back to therapy. I can't just risk my students life anymore. You need to go back on your own or else I will be forced to send you there."

"Tess! Tess, you were lost in thought," Scott shook me as we walked into the parking lot.

"I was thinking about how handsome you are," I smiled at him. He dipped his hand into my dimple and smirked.

"I know that I'm handsome. You don't need to tell me."

"I saw your ex earlier. She wanted to interfere."

"I saw her too. She acted as if she doesn't know me."

"That's her problem. Why were you late to lunch?"

He smiled and showed his snow white dentition.

"I received good news today."

"You got a new girlfriend or is Ivy pregnant?"

"No, idiot." He frowned and flicked my forehead.

"Tanya's pregnant?"

"Why would my mom be pregnant?"

"She could be." I defended myself.

"Well, she's not. Thanks for assuming."

"So, what's the good news?"

"I got a call from the hospital and they told me she improved."

"She improved? Who?"

He raised his eyebrow at me and my memory sparked.

"She improved? Really?"

"Yeah, she's a little bit normal now."

"Thank goodness. I thought I was gonna go crazy waiting for her."

"Her condition really improved."

"Let's go visit her.''

"No, you have an appointment with Dr. Jillian."

I stared at him in shock.

"You already booked an appointment? What are you! My secretary?"

"Please get in, Miss." He opened the door and tipped his invisible hat.

"Right away, my good man." I got in.

I chewed my nail nervously as I stood in front of the elevator.

I haven't been here in a long time.

"What are you waiting for? Let's go," Scott pushed me into the elevator and punched the button of floor we were going to.

"Easy for you to say."

"I'm sure she'll be glad to see you." He reassured me.

"She won't."

"Why?"

"The last time I was here, I broke a lot of things."

"It's been a year. She would forgiven you by now."

"I doubt that. She's holds grudges."

"Should I come in with you?" Scott asked as we reached door.

"No, I think I'm good." I knocked on the door and heard a muffled 'come in'.

"Good luck," he took a seat outside as I walked in.

I looked around to see if anything has changed. Nothing had changed except that she had placed her at another angle. She looked the same. She didn't age at all.

"Long time no see," she smiled at me as I took a seat in front of her." I missed you so much."

"I didn't miss you at all," I took a seat.

"This place has been boring ever since you left."

"Are you trying to sweet talk me again? It won't work."

" Okay," she smiled. "Let's get down to business."

I sighed.

Here comes the questions.

"I heard you strangled two people today."

Scott!

"What did they do?"

"It wasn't entirely my fault. The girl dumped Coke all over my hair and the guy just got in the way."

"Was he the one you thought you stabbed last time?"

"Are you stalking me?"

She smiled at me.

"I know what has been happening around you for the past year."

"So you were stalking me!" I pointed my finger at her.

"You broke my vase! Did you think I would just let you go?"

"It's been a year! You ought to have forgiven me!"
