Julie leaned her head against a large window. Her hand rested on the cold panel. How could things have gone this wrong? Who were those people who smashed the wall?
Around a large oval table, five older men and three females sat looking at the mayor's back. "How can that fool just go and declare war? We won't survive!" one of the older men raged.
A very nasally woman spoke up. "We should let them take the ones they want. This city has had enough. If we would have surrendered, peace would be on our horizon."
"For once I agree with Joe and Lena," Sirgain confidently added. "What do you think, Mayor Julie?" the man asked with a smirk.
"We shouldn't be having this meeting without the rest of the council,'' Julie admonished.
Sirgain gasped and Joe spoke up. "Perhaps a better suited mayor, one who won't bend to their beck and call, should be appointed."
