Golhre and Valre entered the forest first. They stood back- to-back, looking at the details–crisp green leaves, dark brown and ashen bark. Not a single vine was seen, not a single sound heard. Their shoulders tensed.
Crystal and her wolves entered behind them.
The wolves shared a quick look. Their ears perked and they veered off to the side. Growls erupted from them as their snouts wrinkled. Crystal frowned and held her arms out.
The Casalyians stopped coming toward them.
Ashley glanced around. Her eyes searched various corners. "It's quiet," she mumbled softly. "Not even a chirping bug."
Terrence's red eyes glowed.
“Yeah," one of the wolves spoke up. “This is odd. When we entered before, there were sounds, all sorts of sounds. Some of them did sound off as if there was a constant buzz behind everything. Then again, we are not aware of the complete prey list, or what the creatures of this realm truly sound like.”
“Isn't everything prey to you guys?" Crystal asked.
