‘Who are you?’ I was about to ask out loud but stopped upon seeing Agnes expression, she wasn’t even the one talking.
‘Who is the one I should help?’
‘Who is the one I should stop?’
I didn’t knew the answers to those questions.
In front of me everyone they were all agitated within ten seconds Niki’s mom was full with nurses and doctors who was barking orders so quickly that for a person like me, foreigner to medical field were impossible to understand and I didn’t even tried to do so.
Niki was rigid in front of the door, a silent witness of the event in from of her, she wasn’t weeping anymore but still upon her face anybody could have read she was hurting. Her knuckles were with for how hard she was squeezing the strap of her bag.
As I looked around me it seemed like except for the doctors and nurses inside for room who were rushing against time to save the patient everything else was freeze.
‘No...no...’ Someone, I didn’t knew where, was shouting.
‘We are loosing her?’ Said another one.
Niki’s mother was lying on regular hospital bed but she had so much tubes connected to different parts of her body, the deafening sound emitted by the machines she was link with added more chaos to the already chaotic scene.
‘No...no...help!’ Someone said afar, there were fear and it was like the person who was asking for help was out of breath most likely running. But around me no one was running, except for the frenetic activity inside Niki’s mom room in particular the other area of the ICU were calm.
‘Someone help me...help!’ This time the voice was closer than moments before still as I looked around nothing seemed askew for an hospital and especially no one was running.
As I was still looking around someone collided with me I fell to the ground with a heavy thud on my side.
“Ouch!” I exclaimed. Before me I saw two people running one after another. Both were women, the one in front was the owner of the voice asking for help, she was wearing the standard uniform hospitals give to patients and was barefoot, the second one in contrary was head to toe cladded in white, she was wearing a white long dress like I’ve seen women wear in medieval movies but also was wearing white boots which stilettos made an annoying clap clap sound at each steps she made.
I had never seen them before but the woman in white, her factions, seemed familiar like I’ve already seen her but I couldn’t remember where.
The scariest thing in all that the expression on her face, so much hatred and desire to kill. The ran off the alley and disappeared passing through the escalator door, I assumed they had to do so because the door was closed and in no moment I had seen the door.
‘Great! It’s awesome to be pushed out of the way by two demented.’ I said as I managed to get on my feet just to found myself in the air the next second after being pushed out of the way again by the same duo.
“Ah!” That time I fell harder and the pain I felt was worse.
“Someone, please help me!” The first woman was shouting this time there was total despair in her voice. The did the same and pass through the escalator door again. That time instead of getting on my again, I just get on my knees and wait to see if they will appear again.
I didn’t had to wait a long time because the next second they reappeared.
“What could I do?” I wondered how could I help her, I looked around me but there were nothing useful. I only had a backpack full with textbooks and nothing useful or maybe...after the first woman passed my position I quickly threw my bag toward the second woman feet.
“I’m an idiot.” I said after that when I remembered that they had passed through the door two time and I’ve seen it but unexpectedly it worked.
“Uh oh!” I exclaimed when after her fall she looked at me and hiss like a serpent. I tried to out run her but I just made a shame of myself by slipping and falling on the floor again this time on my back, for a moment I thought I saw stars however I get on my feet quickly and tried to escape.
I didn’t made more than three steps that a hand caught one of my foot what made me stumble yet fortunately I didn’t fell to ground this time.
“No...no!” I cried out wriggling my foot trying to escape but failed because of the strong hold.
“You ape...” she started saying but stopped upon seeing the other woman who was still running asking for help completely out of her mind. The strange thing in all this was that nobody else except me seemed to notice what was happening between both of them, a quick glance to Niki’s mom room I saw the medical team still trying to reanimate her unsuccessfully, Niki was at the same place unmoved from the door.
Wriggling my foot didn’t work so I used my other foot to kick at the hand which was holding me.
She was supernaturally strong after five kicks the strength she used to restrain my foot didn’t quiver if it didn’t seem to have increased or maybe it appeared to me so because I was getting tired.
I wasn’t known for being a person who is habituate to do physical activity on regular basis.
‘It settled this time if I get out of this I will seriously begin doing exercises or any physical activity I could to train myself!’ I resolved to do.
I was more and more tired and my kicking were coming at a slower frequency.
“Leave me alone!” I said desperate.
“Leave you alone.” She retorted in a harsh tone chilling me to the bone. “You ape. Just a filthy thing ! Who ask to intervene in stranger matter? Today I will teach you a lesson that you obviously ignore ‘NEVER AND NEVER MEDDLE IN WHAT IT ISN’T RELATED TO YOU!’” I thought my tympanum would blow for how loud she was talking.
I kick again at her hand this time she let go of foot, maybe because she was distracted talking to me so I succeeded in freeing myself but I didn’t stop in finding the reason behind this and runaway as fast as I could, I was by then totally out of breath, my lungs were burning like hell and my head was feeling dizzy.
“Just breathe, just breathe...just...” I was repeating to myself in order to keep going I have just to make one more step and I would escape.
I veered left on the corner and come to face a door that had storage written on the door, I quickly get in and went to find a place to hide.
