The Roman Empire 3

Listen to the epic Medieval Roman song above..

Without diffidence, Urellius brought the idea before his advisory committee or council of Rome, also called senates.

A temple was erected, not too far away from the palatine hills, the Emperor's residence, the Senate occupied that temple called the nobili temple as their place of adminstration,

The nobili temple is where the Emperor brings forth his ideas and agendas, and allow the senates to give their opinions about it, and advises too.

The Senate had been dispelling every of Urellius's ideas deemed unworthy, he first brought the idea of sending spies to Britian, not even a single senator hauled that idea, the senators measured it to suicide, and it wasn't different from it in any way.

Urellius brought another idea, suggesting to rejuvenate their alliance with, Spain, Poland and France, the finicky Senators objected to that too, with a claim that none of countries would want to allign with them, considering that the Roman empire isn't strong enough to defend those nations, when under attack by the British Empire.

The idea about the golden city seemed bodacious, just like it happened to Urellius, the idea gripped the senates mind and dragged it into a region of oblivion, their minds thralled by the figments of a mighty Rome, trampling over mighty nations.

"I must say that, so far, this is the most considerable idea you have brought." Said Aloysius of Naples, one amongst the senators,

Aloysius of Naples, Cornelius of Assisi, octavious of Ancona, Severus of Perugia, Claudius of Venice, and tarquin of Calabria, were the six senators and occupants of the nobili temple, knitted together from various parts of Italy, to form the Senate.

Urellius felt an astonishment, he least expected the senate to value his idea, he had lined up in his mind, a horde of reasons to change the senates mind.

"Where did you get this map?." Severus asked, Urellius reckons him the most Maverick amongst the senators,

Urellius looked up to Severus, sitting opposite him at the Conner of a long rectangular table,

"I had it with me long ago." Urellius said.

"How come you never told us about it.?" Severus asked, he came further to the table, a posture that showed great inquisitiveness.

"Need you know about it, I make known only my agendas to you, and not my personal life." Urellius said, casting a stern look at Severus, a look made out of borne resents, Severus had been the spearhead at revoking Urellius's ideas, Urellius was desperate not to loose to him this time.

"Enough of the questions Severus.?" Aloysius snapped, waving his Pam at Severus.

Severus lulled back to his seat, he felt his fellow senators had bought the idea, varying seemed less the best option, Severus thought ------- the idea of going to an unbeknown land sounds a bad idea compared to sending spies, why would his fellow senators consider such idea, "Could my fellow senators be driven by cupidity." Severus thought to himself.

"I understand your concern Severus." Said octavious of Ancona, "considering whoever has gone there has never made it home." Octavious said, giving Severus a glimmer of support, that broke back words to his lips,

"Paulo Tiberius of Bari, the great adventurist, once attempted to find that so called city of golds, 1503, and up till today, his fleet is yet to return till date.

What makes us to think we will find that city of gold." Severus said.

"So no one knew what happened to Paulo Tiberius, that left his fleet unreturned." Aloysius inquired, seeking whoever's opinion.

"A rumor claimed, his fleet were ambushed by the jaguar," Claudius of Venice responded, "the prevailing man of the oceans." He added.

Hearing what left Paulo unreturned, added a few drops of hope to Urellius, he intends to send a battalion of troops and a fleet of twenty combative ships to go find the Golden city, it left ship wreckages and storms as the only possible habringers of an unsuccessful adventure, leaving out piracy.

"I plan to send twenty fleets, that would be terrible towards pirates, Tiberius might have made it to the City of Gold, and maybe he got attacked by bandits on his way home." Urellius said,

"Those are speculations my Lord." Severus countered, it held Urellius from saying more, Urellius held a glance at him, seeking to hear what he had to say.

"The evidence of what you said is incomplete my Lord." Severus added.

"You said Tiberius got attacked by the jaguar."

Urellius said. He pointed at Severus and said.

The evidence of that, is incomplete too, that declares your words a speculation."

Urellius rose from his chair, and banged his Pam on the wooden table

"We are all speculating!." Urellius blurted out in anger.

He puffed afterwards and took a seat.

Silence prevailed after that, non of the senators had courage to speak again, they have never seen Urellius so angry and fierce the way he was now, the senate knows the power he holds as the empire, powerful enough to declare their demise, Soft hearted Urellius never ruled the Roman Empire like his father festus of Rome, Urellius added a bit of equity , dialogue , peace and kindness, to his rule although revenge had jaundiced his heart partly, he was still not a Cruel man in all.

If the senate should be punished by Urellius, Severus would be the first to receive punishments, Severus of Perugia went on his knees before the emperor "pardon my inapproprity, your highness, I brought my passion into the occasion." Severus bowed afterwards.

Urellius felt a governing power that moment, how servile nobel Severus was before him, Perugians are headstrong to their cores, to see one of them kneel before him, seemed an achievement to Urellius, he held his head upright and said "you may rise, Severus."

Severus took his sit, "your highness, it's your rulership, and your opinions, we do what thou will, not what we will." Severus said, Tarquin of Calabria, Cornelius of Assisi, gave Severus a broad stare, uniformly they thought ---- Severus is bringing in the idea of a dictatorship rule, into the mind of the emperor, none of them could utter that to him at the moment.

"I hold with those who support my ideas," Urellius said, "if you aren't in support of those ideas, indicate by leaving the temple." Urellius said sprightly and with a chittering tone, sounding unharmful.

Claudius of Venice rose and had them seeing his back, treading quickly towards the exit of the temple,

"Guards, take away that man leaving the temple."

The guards at the door griped their hands about Claudius's arm , Claudius was almost through the exit door,

"Unhand me you peasants." Claudius blurted out,

The guards dragged him recklessly out of the temple, regardless of his nobility, Claudius would be held custody and afterwards Urellius would decide his fate.

It dawned on the rest of the Senate, the Emperor could be driven by something new, something unnatural, for what drives a man cannot change so sudden, it needs time, that's why most of the senators deemed it in their minds an unnatural force.
