Chapter Fifteen

James's POV

I walked into my office angrily. How could she do that to me? How could she embarrass me publicly. No, she won't get away with this? I muttered and shook my head in a heavy sigh.

Lisa walked in with a smile. "Mr Alex ordered for you to cancel Noami's Campbell event preparation, she has postponed it." She said.

"I didn't get a mail from her." I objected with a frown.

She seemed confused. "He's the boss and the mails are only meant to be forwarded to his email and not yours." She replied.

"Really? So who just started working in this organization few days ago, wasn't it you?" I asked angrily.

"It's only right for me to correct you."

"Of course, you have the right to correct me, I gave you this job in the first place, I could have just slept with you, throw your credentials in the dustbin like I do to other girls but I didn't." I said and she exhaled, slowly relaxing.

"Fine, thank you, you're still not my boss, Alex is my boss and I don't why you're hyperventilating." She replied.

Her eyes locked onto mine and i frowned. "I'm not, I'm happy you made the right decision, you love Alex." I muttered, my voice remained calm and steady.

She raised an eyebrow. "I'm not in love with Alex and certainly, not with you." She replied.

"Then who are you in love with?" I asked angrily losing my temper. "Are you love with Oliver, Alex's brother?"

"You're certainly crazy." She answered and walked out of my office.

I felt goosebumps forming on my skin. I hurriedly called Oliver who picked almost immediately.

"Someone sent Oliver dead flowers, any idea who did that?" I asked him over the phone.

"I don't have any idea who sent those flowers."

"It seems we have a new secret admirer." I said and laughed. "Don't do anything to Lisa and Alex yet, let them enjoy their love life, we'll strike when we have our chance."

"Ok boss." Oliver replied and I cut the call immediately.

Lisa's POV

I walked into Alex's office, he was smiling at me. I didn't want to smile back, I just stared at him.

"I have delivered your message to him." I said and he smiled.

"Sit down Lisa, you shouldn't stand." He offered with a genuine smile.

"Look, I'm not having a crush on you and I don't want to lead you on." I said.

He chuckled and ran his hands through his hair, I melted at once. He was so cute.

"You can't avoid me Lisa."

"I'm not trying to, I don't want to have a relationship now." I muttered.

"I understand why you don't like me, I was a bad person at first but look, I've changed," He said standing up, he walked towards me. "I enjoyed our first kiss, maybe we can take it further?" He asked and placed his hands on my cheeks, I quickly shifted back.

"I'm sorry, I can't."

"I'll make it up to you, let's go on a date tomorrow." He suggested.

"It's probably a nice idea but how am I sure you're not going to get me drunk and rape me, I'm just saying." I said and he laughed.

"You're actually right, I'm a gentleman, I won't ever lay a finger on you." He assured.

"Any leads on who called me?" I asked.

"You mean, your secret admirer?" He teased and I let out a slight grin.

"He's probably a maniac who sent those flowers." I said.

"Yeah, maybe." He answered, taking off his tie.

A lady walked in. "Excuse me sir, Miss Lisa's mom is here to see her." She said and I smiled.

"If you'll permit me, I have to see my mom." I said and walked to the door.

"I'll join you guys." He said and I chuckled.

"Don't come." I replied and walked out of his office, I walked into the new office he gave me and met my mom sitting on the chair.

I hugged her and sat on the chair. "I didn't expect you to come, I'm so excited to see you."

"I wanted to come dear, at least I wanted to know where you worked, your father wanted to come, it took me hours to convince him." She said and I laughed.

"I love him so much too "

"Your cousin is around."

"Which of them, don't tell me it's Kimberly."

"Fortunately, it's Kimberly." She answered and I jumped up in excitement.

"I really can't wait to meet her, she's my special relationship master, her tips are so funny and they're actually working." I said and laughed.

"She's crazy, you both are crazy, what if I told you she's here?" Mom asked and I frowned.

"She won't be, she's crazy, she can do anything."

Someone pushed the door and walked in, I recognized her at once, it was Kim. I screamed and ran to hug her, she hugged me for some seconds before I finally released myself from her grip.

"I'm so excited you're here, we have a lot of things to discuss." I said.

"I'm always here for you, I'll be staying with you guys for sometime before I get an apartment." She replied and I smiled.

"It's no problem."

"So who's this?" Alex asked and walked in. He immediately noticed my mom and went towards her.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry for all the pains I've caused you." He apologized and I smiled.

"It's alright, my child." My mom replied and I chuckled.

"Kim, this is Mr Alex Taylor, he's my boss." I introduced and she nodded.

"He's cute, are you guys dating or can I have him for myself?" She asked in a low whisper.

I knew Kim, if she wanted a man, she'd definitely have him. "We're dating." I quickly lied.

"I don't believe you, you should probably kiss me on his forehead and I'll definitely believe you." She challenged.

"Okay fine, challenge accepted." I replied and took a deep breath first.

I looked at Alex, he seemed to be getting along with my mom, I walked towards him and pulled him close to me, as I made to kiss him on his forehead, he pulled his lips to mine and we kissed.
