Forty-eight: Homecoming

Ovido Heights Highschool

Krista's pov

The lights from the gymnasium were going crazy with its laser sticks and disco balls. Big and shiny paper cut outs were shaped of stars and moons hanging up the ceiling. Rows and rows of tables awaited the guests. The stage had various types of flowers and ribbons that made you see it first hand. I saw the two red cushioned seats, empty for now, surely filled in later. The windows have been covered to block any natural light from penetrating. It made the inside very movie like.

It looked pretty.

I looked around and saw the peole have clustered together with their own groups. I recognized some of the girls I shared the locker for the swimming team. They all looked dolled up and were smiling happily with their dates. I moved away before they recognized me. I wasn't ready to make excuses why I missed the competition.
