C11 Colorful World 1/2

We stopped by here in front of a shop with a sign that says, 'Elsa's Optical Zone'. It looks like this shop sells reading glasses. I knew because there was a large square glass which lets you see through the interior of the building. They displayed quite a list of beautiful glasses in front that it made me want to buy one.

Maybe this was some kind of marketing strategy to attract customers. I should keep this in mind.

"They should have some in here, I think."

"Just ask if they do."

"I know that."

Both of them were starting to talk calmly now, it was far from how it was earlier.

My mind concluded that a threat is not as scary if you just go along it, so I took the courage to take another step and asked them what they wanted to do in this shop.

"What are we going to do in this shop, uhm… sir?"

"Ah! please call me Seth."

I smiled at him for his polite response.

"Okay, then mister Seth, what are we doing here?"

"Please remove the 'mister', just Seth is fine. I'm not some kind of big shot, I'm just another broke citizen of this city... Anyway, let's go inside first."

Both of us went inside while the little girl said she was going to stay outside.

"Are you sure it's okay to leave the little girl behind?...urggh, cold!"

It's always like this inside their buildings, they have some kind of device that blows cold wind to make the air grow colder and their door closes automatically too. Maybe it's to prevent the cold wind from going out.

"I think so? Don't worry, I think she can take care of herself."

"You know that's not what I mean."

"Yes I do."

He said with confidence in his voice.

"Okay then."

I playfully answered.

Normally you wouldn't leave little girl outside all by herself where she'll be prone to danger but in her case it should be fine. It's the people who approach her that I'm more worried about.

"Take a look around for a while, I'll talk to the store attendant lady for a second."

I nodded in affirmation and he left me to take a look around.

The shop was really big, ten people could live here if you'd let them, and it was really well lit considering the size. The place was filled with reading glasses with different sizes and different magnitudes of lens.

"I never knew that reading glasses could be this big."

I said while staring at the specific pair of glasses that was circular in shape with fairly bigger lens from the others.

"Is it your first time here ma'am?"

A female attendant suddenly appeared beside me smiling widely which made me jolt in surprise.

Where did she come from?!

"uhm, yes..."

"If that's the case then let me show you our latest brand the 'Optical Adjustor'!"

She smilingly said while placing her hand on my back to guide me to another direction where the 'Optical Adjustor' was being displayed.

It was placed inside a cube shaped glass and was rotating while going up and down.

"As you can see there are two lenses in these pair of glasses."

"Of course there are two of them. It's not a 'pair' of glasses if there's just one."

The female's left eyebrow twitched for a second as she continued with her frozen smile after hearing my words, it was as if she was annoyed but she calmed down after a short silence and continued her advertising.

"As you can see, there are 'FOUR' lenses in these pair of glasses."

She rephrased while showing me the glasses from a different angle while smiling.

"I know."

Her eyebrow twitched once more while smiling but this time it was the right brow.

I already knew that it had four lenses right from the beginning because I saw it earlier. It had four lenses, two in each and it had a weird circular rotary at the side.

"... You can see it! Yes! So these lenses can move if you rotate these circular shaped gear."

...

She look at me with a smile again. She doesn't seem to stop smiling so I gave her a forced smile while saying.

"So..."

I don't really know what she's trying to show me so I signaled her to continue explaining.

"Bret! Give me the keys to this case!"

"Coming!...Here catch!"

"Aw!"

The keys landed on her face which made her angry while keeping the smile on her face. She took a deep breath and open the case then made me wear the Optical Adjustor.

"Please try it on ma'am to see the effect."

"Okay lady. Please calm down-Wow! this is cool!"

I was amazed because as she adjusted the lenses my vision became blur>clear>zoomed in>blur>clear>zoomed out>blur.

"See ma'am?"

"Yes! I admit this is really cool alright, my vision suddenly became blurry! Now I can't see your smiling face anymore!"

The lenses stopped at blurry so it was the only thing I could comment on. I couldn't see it clearly but I think the female got angry again.

"Seth! Look here for a bit!... Woah! Your face! I don't know where it is!"

"Okay?...Uhm, miss please return the glasses she's wearing, we're not buying it."

"Okay sir, right away."

The female took the glasses from my head and carefully placed it on the rotating glasses holder then left me alone in front of the cube glass.

"Why aren't we taking it Seth? It's cool and all."

"We came here for this."

He said while showing me a pair of regular looking glasses inside a regular looking case with two extra but smaller lens inside.

"What that for?"

"Come closer."

I walked closer to him and he slowly inserted the glasses to my ears while I closed my eyes to avoid being hit.

"Ouch!"

"Sorry... Alright there you go, you can open your eyes now."

I slowly opened my left eye then my right eye...

"Seth..."

After fully opening my two eyes, I saw a girl with blueish white hair. I think it was white but looked blueish because of the lights being reflected to it.

"light blue?"

She had a pale white skin, it was obvious that she never went out to bathe in the sun or go on adventures that much.

"pale"

The circlet she had on her head was colored pure gold.

"gold"

The girl's hair was short, she had a very light blue eyes, it was so light that the color almost faded.

"light blue"

She was wearing a pair of glasses and after a while her eyes began tearing up, her red lips trembled so I smiled at her to calm her down and it seems like it worked.

'She smiled back.'

I saw a mirror with my colorful reflection in it.

"You look beautiful with color, right?"

*sniffle

"Seth! *sniff There's color! *sniff There's color Seth!!!"

The life that I thought would never shine with these colors. Running through gray grass, black trees, white clouds and little to black sky. My monochrome life has finally become a colorful one! I can see them!

*sob

I look around the shop that I thought had only gray to black to white color, it was shining with unknown colors!

"Why don't you take a look outside?"

"mm! mm! mm! mm! mm!"

After nodding 5 times I quickly ran towards the door to get a better view of the lights that made the night so bright.

I slowly opened the shop's door and slowly, the colorful streets lights.

She ran towards the door to go outside as I suggested and slowly opened it. It wasn't possible to open an automatic door quickly so she could only do it slowly.

I could see how excited she was from how she peaked at door.

"Red! Orange! Yellow! Green! Blue! Indigo! Violet! hahaha! sniff* I can see it all! Seth! Come here for a bit tell me which color is which! I don't know any color besides the colors of my own appearance!"

"And here I thought you could already tell!"

*Sob

"How could I? I mean, I've been like, literally color blind my whole life!"

Her voice kept trembling in joy of seeing colors for the first time in her life.

"Are you seeing this? *sniffle"

I asked the older female attendant with red hair who was smiling widely looking at the girl who went outside to take a look at colors.

*sob

"Yes sir! *sniff I can see it! *sniff She looks like a kid who tasted candy for the first time!"

*sob x4

The four of us cried tears of joy seeing the girl running around in front of the store.

"So... Will you give us a discount?"
