C30 The Thieves' Massacre 1/2

"What do you mean somebody stole it!?"

While sitting on a chair, arms folded together I scolded three of my employees who are kneeling in apology in front of me.

I don't know why they're going this far but I'm used to it so I just leave them to it.

One seemed especially happy though.

"Yes miss, I think it was the person who asked for it."

"Do you know how much that pair costs!?"

I lost a high priced product. This was a first for me. I didn't know somebody was bold enough to steal something from my shop.

"Yes miss. I'm really sorry miss. Actually, the girl who wore the product got hit by a delivery truck."

"She got hit by a truck? Is she stupid?"

Nobody ever gets run over by vehicles nowadays. Signs placed beside roads would stop anyone from acting reckless, if I so myself.

"She was overjoyed being able to see colors for the first time that she recklessly ran around at the front of the shop towards the road without a care in the world."

"She was that happy? Then, I'll give it to her a souvenir to heaven. She died right?"

"I think so. At first, it looked like a hit and run but the driver was actually just in a hurry so instead he just returned driving an ambulance only to see the patient nowhere to be found. Some say they went to the hospital by themselves but we searched for a hospital with a hit and run case but there wasn't any. It was like they suddenly disappeared."

That's one quite mysterious event going on there.

"And the people that were with her? Where are they?"

I'd like to give my condolence to the dead. They died because of how amazing my product was after all.

"They were the famed Carson family."

"Carson? Who's that?"

I don't know anyone famous around here.

"The miss doesn't know anyone in a lower realm than her, remember?"

"Oh right! I'm sorry. He was the brother of your personal caregiver miss."

These girls were making fun of me unconsciously but my mind was busy thinking 'my really tall and pretty doctor was famous?' so I ignored them.

"That's quite alright. So do you know where they live?"

"Yes miss, but I think they already left the building because I went there this morning to knock on their door and no one answered."

"Weren't they just asleep?"

"It was noontime when I got there, so I don't think that's the case."

"Did you ask the guard or the receptionist?"

I think they would know if they left the building or anything.

"They said they haven't returned yet and it was just the mother inside grieving her daughter's death by herself. I didn't want to disturb her if she didn't want to, so I just left and thought I'd come back next time."

"My caregiver died too?"

"I think it was two weeks ago when she was haunted by a ghost and died."

How come I wasn't informed? She was a really nice doctor and beautiful too. She was like my role model.

"Prepare my limousine, were going there now. How long do you think it would take if we go there now?"

"Yes miss. If we go there now, we should be able to arrive in dark."

I nodded to the red haired girl and stood up from my chair to walk out the store. She also stood up to overtake me when I approached the door and opened it for me.

"The car is waiting outside, miss."

"I can see that."

It was a glass door so I could see through it.

"Right! I'm sorry miss! Please punish me!"

"Huh? Why would I do that?"

"Ah right! I am not worthy of your punishment! *huff *huff"

I left the girl behind still holding the door open while breathing heavily after being rejected. She was the same girl who was unusually happy while kneeling when I was scolding them.

Her was Ari. A red headed mature looking woman. Despite her mature demeanor, she was the exact opposite... No... maybe that was exactly the reason why she keeps acting like that?

Walking towards the car, a nineteen year old guy opened the door for me and said:

"Where are we off to miss? Aw! ahhh~ Thank you for the meal!"

I kicked my older brother who was acting like he was my butler in irritation but it looked like he was more pleased by it than not.

"Gross! Please don't follow me! Go take care of the store!"

"Ahhh~ Only if you reward me when you get back."

"Okay! Okay! Now go away!"

I immediately agreed to his condition to make him leave quickly. I think I know what kind of reward he wanted but I also think that it's not something I would want to give him.

"Move lady!"

"I'm sorry SIR, but you are not welcomed here"

He went away just as I said and bickered with my employee who was still standing at the door.

"My sister said she'll reward me if I stay here for a while so don't hinder me!"

"I'll take care of the store SIR, so leave the rewards for me!"

"I said move!"

He tried to force his way through the store but my employee was stronger so he still couldn't get in.

They share the same hobbies that's why they get along so well.

"Aw! heh! You'll have to do better than that to please me!"

"I'm not trying to please you!"

I went inside the car and told the driver to drive faster than usual because the building was a quite far from the where we were.

Looking at the side of my eyes through the window, I saw my brother kicking my employee while forcing his inside the shop with all his strength, I was reminded of what kind of environment did those two grew up from that they turned out like that. Particularly Ari, such a waste of good style, it makes me jealous but it also makes me thankful that I didn't grow up like a person who keeps grinning while being hit with a shoe by my brother.

**

We're at the entrance of the building where my dead caregiver's mother was said to be living. There was a heavy traffic on the way so we arrived later than expected. A guard who was standing at the entrance walked over my window and knocked on it.

*Tok *Tok *Tok

I lowered the window to talk to him.

"To whom do we owe this visit ma'am... miss?"

"Are the Carsons home tonight?"

"I'm sorry miss, but they just left about 30 minutes ago."

We just missed them? I guess it was inevitable because of the traffic.

"Where did they say they were going?"

"They said they were going to the graveyard."

Weird... Are they trying to burry the woman who got run over by a truck?

"If it's not too much, may I ask why they went to the graveyard?"

"Hmm... They said they wanted to visit their sister? They were carrying an empty box of cake too."

Were they trying to be discrete? Did they burn the corpse and just burry her just her bones?

*Giggle

The mere assumption I thought, made me giggle.

"What's funny miss?"

"Ah! It's nothing! I think I'll go visit her too. Driver we're going."

The driver nodded through the mirror of the car in agreement.

I was going to go there after speaking to her mother anyway, and visiting her grave with her family would be a better idea than doing it alone.

"So? When are you going to let go of the car?"

I said to the dark skinned guard who was forcefully stopping me closing my window.

"You said you were going to the graveyard right?"

"Yes? Then what?"

"I was wondering if maybe I could hitch a ride?"

He said while putting on puppy eyes.

*sigh

"Okay…"

I wasn't cold blooded enough to not give him a ride so I let him hitch with me.

"Thank you- uhm… Can you unlock the door?"

"Unlock the door? I never said you could ride beside me! Go ride in the back!"

"The back? but there's no more back in this car."

What I meant by back was to the place where luggage were usually being stored. If he stayed there then there shouldn't be a problem.

"Miss, would it be alright if the good sir would ride next to me? I get scared driving through the night."

"Is that so? Then it shall be."

The guard left my door and went to the very front seat next to the driver.

"Is your miss a sadist by any chance?"

"She does it unconsciously, please forgive her."

"I heard that!"
