"What the hell were you thinking, you fucking dumbass!?" My father yelled at me as he threw anything he could find, be it chairs, tables, or even his own Ghost. I stood straight and unflinching as I responded "That boy was about to seriously injure or even sexually assault Aki-" My father's face turned purple from rage as he yelled "I DON'T GIVE A SINGLE FUCK!! I'm more worried about my reputation and status that your little girl, do you hear me!? I'll gladly kill her if that means I would keep my status!"
I balled my hands into fists as I clenched my jaw to keep my anger in check as my father began to pace around in front of his throne while muttering things to himself. His long, ash-colored hair swayed around violently and moved like it had a mind of its own as my father began to get even more pissed than before.
He turned his amethyst eyes to me and said "If you cause so much as one more goddamn disturbance in MY academy...I'll kill every single one of your friends, and that whore you call a mother...!" I exploded in that instance and drew my sword before swinging it in a clean arc toward my father's neck.
He sneered and Sol appeared in his hands, the legendary fire blade. He effortlessly blocked my attack as his hand shot out toward my throat, but I was quicker than he thought. I used Void Step to appear behind him as I went to run my sword straight through his back, but I only pierced his afterimage.
I whipped around just in time to catch a heavy punch to my jaw, sending me flying back and crashing onto the floor several meters away. My father was already above me, holding Sol to my neck and saying "Did you think I wouldn't see through your pathetic plan? I was the one who taught you how to use Void energy after all..." in a mocking voice.
He stowed Sol in his inventory before turning and stomping back to his Throne, saying "Get out." in a voice burning with rage. I spit a glob of blood from my mouth and stood up before walking out of the room and into the hall, finding Suki and my mother looking at me with worried eyes.
I walked past them and continued on down the hall before turning left and continuing down the corridor before reaching the training grounds. I destroyed everything in an attempt to quell this rising fury in my soul but, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the image of my father's disappointed gaze out of my head.
I clenched my jaw to keep the tears of indignation at bay before yelling out and pounding the ground with my fist, cracking the cement and the earth beneath it. I continued to yell until my voice gave out, leaving only hoarse whispers as I ground my teeth in frustration. I stood up and used Void Step to teleport to the Forest of Beasts, a place that the Academy uses for training.
I vented my frustration on the poor Servants of the forest, which are beasts infected by the Darkness. I shred through a horde of squirrel-like monsters and watched as their black blood sprayed all over the surrounding trees. My hate for my father spilled over and I went into a frenzy, killing every beast that dared to cross me.
By the time I had calmed down, somewhat, I had cleared a large area of the forest, making it a desolate and depressing place with no life. I felt a 'thump' inside of my head before Jack appeared and gave me a worried look. I gave him the best smile that I could manage before patting his metallic body.
I turned and began to walk back home, feeling that I would only get angrier if I teleported back and overheard my father's ramblings. I had been gone for at least three hours but, as soon as I remembered what my father had said toward my mother, I changed my mind and used Void Step to teleport home.
However, nothing happened. I was still standing in the forest instead of at the front of my house. Panic began to set in as a cold sweat started to soak through my clothes, filling me with an awful sense of dread. A loud scream echoed through the woods, startling me before I brandished my sword.
A blood soaked Suki stumbled through the trees while holding my mother in her arms. I dropped me sword and ran over as I yelled "What happened!?" in a fearful and concerned voice. Suki dropped to her knees and looked up at me before saying "It was...some...cult...they killed everyone..." before falling to the ground with tears flowing down her cheeks.
I held her and my mother up to make sure they didn't fall as I checked Suki's pulse; she was only unconscious with no wounds. I sighed in relief as I gently put Suki down and checked my mother for any wounds. She was covered in light scrapes and nicks, but she was otherwise fine.
I didn't feel angry at my family being killed since most of them wanted me dead. As long as Suki and my mother survived, I didn't give a damn about the rest. I took hold of my mother and grabbed Suki, carrying both of them effortlessly as I dashed through the trees toward Akina's house.
The thick smell of smoke invaded my nose as I got closer to the city, feeling me with even more anxiety than before. Jack tried his best to calm me down, but we both knew that it was hopeless. I ran until I reached the edge of the forest, the burning city coming into view.
I felt a strange emptiness in my stomach as I gazed upon the burning city, ruined Academy, and blood stained streets. A sudden weariness washed over me like a wave, almost causing me to collapse. I managed to recover before running toward Akina's house as fast as I could.
I ran and ran until smell of smoke, blood, and burning bodies became unbearable. I kneeled and retched on the street, finding myself beyond pitiful in that moment. I pulled myself to my feet and continued to run until I came across Akina trying to defend her parents from three men wearing black trench coats with black mask that resembled a fox with a half melted face.
I set Suki and my mother down before taking my sword from my inventory and killing the three men with one strike. I gestured for Akina and her parents to hurry up and leave as I ran back to Suki and my mother, but a familiar, ashen haired man stood in my way.
I felt my blood boil as I looked my father in the eyes and said "I thought everyone died...so how are you alive!?" through clenched teeth. He smirked and said "Heh, yeah they're dead alright...I killed them myself!" before dashing toward me with a mad grin.
I gripped my sword's handle and yelled out as I let my rage blind me and control my actions. We clashed and became a flurry of strikes as our swords created a noise akin to a long ringing. I continued to yell out as my father blocked and deflected all of my attacks effortlessly.
I blasted him with a large amount of Solar energy, accomplishing nothing more than dirtying his clothes. He backhanded me, sending me careening back before getting slammed into the ground. My father walked up and ground his heel into the back of my head as he spit on me with a disgusted look.
He clicked his tongue and said "You have always been a disgrace to our name, as well as those bastards who share the same blood as me. So I thought a little purge was necessary." I turned my bloodied face up and watched as my father turned and began to walk toward Suki as he said "Looks like I missed one..." in a sinister voice.
I couldn't move. I couldn't breathe. All I could do was lay there and watch Sol's surface gleam under the sun as my father lifted it up toward the heavens. I felt time slow to a crawl as I watched Sol glide through the air; Suki's body was covered by my father's frame, but I could still see the blood splatter everywhere.
It felt like something had snapped within me, something that should've stayed locked down. But I didn't give a single damn in that moment. All I wanted to do was kill this murderer in front of me. I rose to my feet and yelled "You traitorous bitch! I'll rip you apart!"
My father turned and I saw Suki's mutilated and burnt body lying on the ground, devoid of all life. I felt my eyes mist up as my teeth cracked form the pressure I was putting on them. I felt my heart pounding against my ribs and I could hear my heart drumming in my ears as my vision began to turn red. I yelled out with all of the pain, rage, and fear I could muster, putting it all out in front of me so I could use them as fuel for my power.
I felt a strange power explode from my body, forming a large crater in the ground and sending dust everywhere. I continued to yell, letting all of my emotions out of my bleeding heart. I locked eyes with my father and brandished my sword, seeing a momentary flicker of fear in his eyes.
I appeared in front of him, crouched down and ready to pounce. I slashed out toward his neck, but he was able to block the strike before attempting to counter. I sidestepped his attack before slashing his thigh, barely drawing any blood due to the armor he was wearing.
Our blades locked together and I could see my sword beginning to turn white from the immense heat being generated from Sol. I kicked out toward his legs, forcing him to step back, before pushing Sol up. I kicked my father in the stomach, feeling a rib crack under the pressure, and sending forcing him to step back quickly with a face of pure rage.
He's by no right weak, but he lacks one thing that I don't.
Compassion.
He only cares for power, so much so that he'd kill his own family in order to get it. But my power comes from the trust and love that I feel from my family and friends. I knew that I would have to win this encounter, no matter what. Even if he is my father, I have to kill him.
My face became a cold mask as I continued to apply pressure to my father, somehow gaining ground. I went for an overhead slash, intending to end him, but he sidestepped and brought Sol down on my left shoulder, severing my arm from my body.
My complexion went pale as I threw up blood and fell to the ground, holding in my screams and tears. This pain was unlike anything I had ever felt before, and I fought to keep from blacking out. My father paced around my prone body as he laughed like a maniac.
My father bent down and lifted my head up by my hair and said "Ahaha! How I've longed to get rid of you myself. Thank the Traveler that I have been blessed with this opportunity! After I kill you, I'll destroy that whore's Ghost before torturing your mother. I'll make sure that you see them all in hell..."
He stood up and raised Sol high up in the air before yelling out in glee as he swung down with all of his might. My vision became engulfed in flames as I felt my will to live burning brighter than any other flame in existence...
