SCP-4253 was a set of early 20th-century diving suits with unknown origins characterized by the yellow mass that oozed out of them. The chemical composition of the mass remained unknown but its harmful effects were instantly discovered as test subjects were forced to make contact.
Upon exposure to the substance, subjects asphyxiate due to the instant build-up of water in their lungs and other organs. The slow death by water-clogged airways led the scientists to dub the SCP - The Drowned.
The suits seemed to exhibit a type of sentience as they communicated with each other using hand signs. An interesting discovery was when one of the suits handed over a part of its yellow mass to another. The receiver soon began to show sentience just like the first suit. The scientists believed that the ceremony indicated the sharing and transfer of one suit;'s knowledge to another, but the lack of any more evidence left the experiments in a grey area.
"We can use that subject to learn more about the others," said a slender man in a white lab coat to the woman with the soft voice as they walked down the staircase towards their respective offices.
"Doctor Hallows, I believe it is in the best interest of the Foundation to get rid of such a dangerous man. We don't want him to be taken by the Insurance now do we?"
The Doctor scorned the woman's remark. He hated the fact that she was right.
"Miss Fischer, I understand your concerns but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. We can't let this man go just because we are worried that the CI might take him away. We need to dig deeper into him and find out how he was able to manifest the powers of SCP-012." The doctor stared at Fischer with desperate eyes.
"We might never get to understand the SCP's if we don't use him. He is the key to this whole situation. If we learn the origin of his powers then we can control all the Keter and Euclid, classes. Imagine the innumerable calamities we could avoid just because of this man's existence." Hallows returned to a calm state and continued. "whether we like it or not, this scumbag is the best chance we have at a safe future without anomalies, and id like to use him if it means building a safe universe."
The doctor was smiling now, but not the wicked kind. His eyes were bright and full of optimism, but the harsh reality was delivered by Miss Fischer.
"well, none of that matters anymore Doc. You should've spoken your heart out when you had the chance earlier. Everyone has voted already, it's too bad that your precious guinea pig is going to be killed." The woman, who had been avoiding Dr Hallows piercing gaze now looked up to face him. " I too would like to believe in what you're suggesting but I've lost way too many subjects and SCPs to the Insurgence, and I would like that number to stay stagnant for as long as possible.
The woman turned to the left as she finished speaking. They had arrived at her office and now it was time to separate, but she stopped at her door and said. "ill try to change his mind," and then she vanished into her office, leaving Doctor Hallows in the grey walled corridor, alone with a ray of hope.
