CHAPTER 3 Rolex
"Hey, Alex, where you at?" Gabriel shouts from the bottom of the stairs. Alex came running down the stairs. "I'm here, I'm here.' Alex said tiredly. Alex looked at Gabriel and shake his head, "Even after partying all night with two hours of sleep you can still look like a movie star the next morning". Gabriel smiled "It's an art that has taken years to master my friend". He said with a big grin on his face. "So what are we doing first? Alex asked. "Have you had anything to eat yet? Gabriel asks. "I'm so tired, I even forgot I was hungry" Alex groaned.
"Okay then let's go have breakfast," Gabriel said grabbing Alex by his wrist. "You need some energy food". Alex closed his front door while Gabriel starts the car. Alex then got in the car and fastened his seat belt. "I could go for a large peanut porridge at Tastee's right now". Alex said with a yawn. "Sounds good, and it will give you the boost you need, I think I will have one too". "Drive through then? Alex asks.
"Yeah drive-thru, it's faster." " well step on it, all this talk about food is making my belly rumble, by the way how many girls did you hook up with yesterday?" about three why?" "Three, wow, where do you get the energy?". "That's the power of Mandingo my friend". "Mandingo? Don't you mean Mandingo among other things?" "Alright I will admit I had a lot to drink yesterday but I didn't get drunk though, what about you?" "I hooked up with a girl at the beach and she was the one I was with at the club too. I didn't feel like hooking up with anyone else. I see you are wearing your birthday gift." Gabriel looked at the watch on his hand that Alex had bought him. It was a white gold Rolex with diamond studs around the face of it. The watch was worth about sixty grand. It's beautiful. And it looks great on me if I do say so myself.
They pulled up to the drive-thru and Gabriel orders their breakfast, pay for it, and soon they were on their way. "So where are we going first?" Alex asks. "The housing complex, I have a few things to go over with the contractor" when Alex finished drinking his porridge he turn to Gabriel. "Pull over; I will drive so you can have your porridge before we get there." Gabriel pulls over to the side of the road and got out. Alex went around the car and get behind the wheel and fasten his seat belt.
Gabriel got in but didn't bother to fasten his. Aren't you forgetting something?" Alex asks. "What?" "Your seat belt man". Alex said annoyed. "What's with you and these damn seat belts all the time". Gabriel said impatiently. "After everything that we have been through you are really going to sit there and ask me that?" "Okay it's fastened, now drive," Gabriel said through gritted teeth. Alex smiled, if it wasn't for Gabriel he would never have learned to drive. Gabriel had paid for all his driving lessons and even went with him when it was time to take his test. He had enough losses in his life, first, it was his parents who didn't give a damn then it was the only two people who ever treated him like a son and he would be damn if he was going to lose Gabriel too.
Pulling into the apartment complex Alex parked the car and turn off the engine and Gabriel stepped out of the car. "I'm going to talk with the contractor; you check the pipes and make sure everything is in order." Alex walked over to where the workers were. "Good morning guys" "Good morning Mr. Anderson. The workers said one after another." How is it going?" One worker stops what he was doing to talk to Alex." Everything is fine sir we got the shipment of pipes so we now have enough to finish the job". "Good, good keep up the good work I' will go and inspect the ones you have laid already". Alex said and walked away. The workers nodded and went back to work.
This complex was the fourth one. Gabriel already has three which were fully occupied. Each complex consists of twenty apartments. Two and three bedrooms. He always uses the finest materials which made his complexes worth every cent of what he charged. Alex loves helping Gabriel finding what he needed. No matter what state it was in, once Gabriel wanted it he was going to have it. Come to think of it prince had that attitude towards everything in his life cars, girls, clothes, etc, once he saw something he wanted he would go after it. Alex called Gabriel prince because he always thought that Gabriel. Look like he was from a royal family.
Not often in America do you see a person with blond hair and blue eyes. Well, you see them but they had either dyed their hair or were wearing contact lenses. Gabriel was born this way and that made him unique. Gabriel came over to where Alex was standing. "Everything okay man?" "Yea everything is in order we can now move on to the next phase. "Everything okay on your end?" Alex asks. "Yep the contractor just wanted to go over a few minor details said he had a meeting with Mr. Campbell yesterday". Alex looks up in surprise." the realtor?" "Yea, he said Mr. Campbell already got orders for four of the apartments." "Your apartments always move fast don't they?" "You can say that again." "So where to next?" "Um let's see, I have to go to the shop, the driver of the number three bus is waiting for me there," Gabriel said looking at his organizer. "Okay then let's go."
Another one of Gabriel's business was his coasters. Gabriel had bought two coasters and turned them into public transportation. When he saw how well they were doing he had bought three more and numbered them one to five. Gabriel wanted to keep his buses in good running condition and safe for passengers, so he requested that his drivers each take their bus to the auto shop at least two times per week. But the service wasn't always that good. So Alex suggests that Gabriel open an auto shop for himself, and he did but because it was Alex's idea he put the auto shop in Alex's name. So legally Alex was the owner of the shop. Alex also owned the second housing complex that Gabriel had build. "Hey Prince, have I told you thanks lately." "What are you thanking me for this time double a?"
"For everything, I mean looking back at my life I don't know where I would be or what I would be if it wasn't for you. I never even thought I would graduate high school much less own my own home and now even my own businesses. Do you realize how much you have changed, my life prince?" "I never really thought about it, I just go with whatever feels right at the time. We are very good friends, so I just thought that we should own the businesses together that's all." "Well considering where I was before and where I am now I really have to say thank you." Alex pulls the car into the auto shop parking lot. They both got out. Then Gabriel turns to Alex." Listen I do what I do because it feels right so for god sake stop thanking me. If I had kept everything I had for myself what kind of friend would that makes me?"
Gabriel turn away from Alex and went to talk to the driver. Alex went to check on how his business was doing. He walks into the office of the guy he left in charge of the shop. "Hey, Chris how is business?" Chris looks up from the paperwork he was doing. "Hey, boss business is doing very well." "Good and how is the family?" "Family is fine I can't complain." "The shop looks pretty busy today," Alex said as he observes the shop workers running around like worker bees. "We have some very good workers here boss. Loyal and responsible and I am getting a lot of compliments about them from our customers." "I like the sound of that.'" Alex said smiling. Chris reaches into one of the draws on his desk and pulls out an envelope. "Take a look at the profits from last week." Alex took the envelope from him and opens it. "Wow, this is pretty good!" "I stop at the bank on my way to work this morning. So it's all secured." Gabriel read the report the mechanic had written about the bus. It was in good condition. "Looking good Steve." "Thanks, boss," Steve said. "Alright get back to work." Nodding Steve got into the bus and drives away.
Gabriel was just finishing up when Alex came back outside. "You ready to go prince? I am starving." "Okay let's go have lunch," Gabriel said heading towards their car. "Business is doing great," Alex said as he got into the car. "I'm happy to hear that," Gabriel said. At that moment Gabriel's phone rang. "Hello." "Hi, baby." "Who is this?" "Forget me already baby I was the one you were with in the parking lot last night." "Oh, what up?" "I was wondering if we could hook up again later." "Sure why not."
"Can I come to your place? Tell me where you live and I will come to you." "Meet me at the same place we were last night." "In the parking lot, why?" "Because that's where I want to meet you, is that okay with you?" "I guess." "Okay, I will see you later then." Gabriel ends the call." What was that all about?" Alex asks. "One of the girls from last night wants to hook up again," Gabriel said as he steps from the car and head into T.G I FRIDAYS. "And you wouldn't believe where she wants to meet?" "Where?" "She asks if she could come to my house." "Whoa, clearly she doesn't know who she is dealing with." Alex laughs. 'You got that right. These girls are just entertainment and not one of them is putting their foot through my door and Alex. Please stop giving out my number." "Oh yeah, sorry. It's just that some of these girls are really hot. Alex said in his defense. "I don't care, just stop it." They order their lunch and found a table. "So I guess we are going back to the club tonight?" Alex asks. "Yep." "Okay, but can I get some sleep first?" "Okay, it's 2:30 now so after lunch I will drop you off at home so you can rest up for tonight.
