Chapter 4 Easy

Gabriel looks at the clock in the kitchen. It was 9.30 pm. Picking up the phone he dials Alex's number. "Hey double-A, you ready?" "Yeah." "Okay, I'm on my way." After Gabriel had dropped off Alex at his house earlier. He went to meet the salesman from who he had bought his coasters. He wanted to buy one for Alex's birthday, without Alex knowing. On leaving that location he runs into a girl he knew but hadn't seen for a long time. She agreed to go with him to a motel and the rest was history.

He didn't get home till 8.00 pm. He had then checked his messages on his answering machine. His aunt wanted him to call her. He then checked his emails, took a shower, and went to lie down for a while. He walks over to the key rack and picking up the key to his Escalade Exit, he grabs his jacket from the back of the couch and turns towards the door.

He stops, then turns back towards the kitchen, opening the fridge he took out a bottle of Mandingo then head for the door. When he got to Alex's house Alex was standing at his gate, he got in the vehicle and they both head to the club. "So who are you hanging out with tonight?" Gabriel asks. " The same girl from last night." Alex reply. "Careful she may think you guys are an item now." "Nah she's just fun to hang out with." "Look all I'm saying is that you don't want to give her the wrong idea. Girls have very active imaginations." "How would you know? You don't even stick around long enough to know their names." Alex said rolling his eyes as Gabriel smile mischievously.

"And that's exactly how I'm going to keep it." Half an hour later they pull into the parking lot of the club. Gabriel put the Mandingo to his lips and drinks half the content. Stepping from the vehicle he notices that the girl was already there waiting for him. He closes the car door and leans against it. "Well, I will just head inside," Alex said walking away from his friend. "You know where to find me when you are done." Gabriel folds his arms across his chest and shakes his head. Damn these girls were easy. Just once he would have loved a challenge.

Leaning against the car he uses his index finger to call her and she came over to him. "Are we doing this or what?" He asks her. She was taken aback for a second. This guy was harsh. Drop-dead gorgeous but very harsh. She thought to herself. "O-okay." She stammers as if confuse. He took her hand and led her to a dark corner at the side of the club. He then indicates to her what he wanted her to do. But deep down a part of him was waiting, waiting for her to tell him where to get off or some of those colorful bad words that Jamaican curse, but she didn't, she just got busy. Half an hour later he pulls away from her. She leans in on his chest and put her face close to his but he turned his face to the side. 'What are you doing?" He asks coldly. "I'm just trying to kiss you." She said sweetly. "Don't do that." He said sharply and walk away from her. 'Wait a second your friend gave me your number but I didn't get your name." "I didn't give you my number and I have no intention of giving you my name. Here buy yourself a drink." He said handing her some money. "I'm not a whore you know. "She said hands on her hips. "I didn't say you were, want to give it back?" "No!" "I didn't think so." He said over his shoulder as he smiled wickedly and walks towards the entrance of the club.

Gabriel saw Alex at the bar and walks over to him. Alex turns to his friend and raises his brow in curiosity. "Where is your lady friend?" He asks. "Don't know, don't care," Gabriel replied coldly. "Ouch. That's harsh man." Alex said taking a sip of his drink. "Where's yours?" Gabriel asks mischievously. "In the bathroom." "Hi handsome, want to dance?" Gabriel turns to see a nice little brown skin chick standing behind him. "Sure why not, I'll join you in a minute." He said licking his lips. "So." Gabriel said turning back to Alex." Do I hear wedding bells?" "No prince, you don't," Alex said sounding annoyed. "Just checking, here comes your girl," Gabriel said and walk onto the dance floor. He looks back at Alex and saw him scowling at him, Gabriel smile to himself, his friend was so gullible. He had been dancing for about twenty minutes when he felt his phone vibrating, he checks to see who it was and saw that it was his aunt. She had left a message on his answering machine earlier asking him to call her but he never did. "Hi, Aunty." He said as he moves away from the music.

"Hi Gabriel, how are you?" "I 'm fine aunty, how are you?" "I'm okay; I'm coming into Kingston tomorrow and I was wondering if we could have lunch?" "Okay, sure I would like that." "Okay, then I will call you as soon as I get there. And umm… Gabriel, where are you?" "I'm at a club, why?" "I have been getting these weird feelings since this evening. I think you should go home." "Go home! Now, aunty, it isn't even twelve yet." "Please Gabriel, I would feel better if you were home and safe, please do this for me."

"Okay, I'm leaving." "Thank you and Gabriel, I love you." "Love you too aunty I will see you tomorrow." Ending the call Gabriel went over to Alex. "Come on double-A, we are leaving." 'What! Why we just got here." "And now we are leaving, so let's go." "Alright. Fine. I'll meet you outside in a minute." Gabriel turns and walks from the club. "What the hell was that all about?" Alex asks as they pull out of the parking lot. "I don't know, it's just something my aunt said." "Wait a minute, your aunt told you to go home when since do you listen to your aunt." "It's just the way she sounds like it was really important or something; I just felt I should do as she asks." "Well, I don't feel like going home right now so let's swing by K.F.C. for some chicken and go back to your place and play some video games." "Sounds like a plan," Gabriel said rocking to the music coming from his car stereo.

Alex turns to his friend with a puzzled look on his face. "You know, as long as I have known your aunt she always strikes me as a strange person." "She isn't strange, she's a Christian, so she thinks differently from us." "There you have it then, all Christians are strange," Alex said with a funny look on his face. "I don't know anything about being a Christian so I wouldn't know," Gabriel said flatly. "Look prince, I know you love your aunt but what do you really think about her. You said you use to visit her when you were younger then you stop, what happened?" "I found more interesting things to do with my time I guess. I mean, she used to always take Gabe and me to church with her. There was a lot of praying, singing, people speaking in strange tongues, jumping up and down like they were crazy. It scared the hell out of me. So I guess after a while I start dreading my visit to Jamaica and then eventually I just stop coming." "That would scare anyone," Alex said as Gabriel pulled into the K.F.C parking lot.
