Pov.Asteria
I stared at him with fury in my eyes. It would be so easy to kill him right now. I smirked at him. He was below me now. What surprised me the most is that he returned it. He pointed down at my questioning look. And there they were, hundreds of soldiers.
I guess it was too good to be true. I guess there will be death today. I contemplated just flying away, but I didn't. So many of them watched me suffer for years and didn't give two fucks.
"I don't care anymore. You may kill whoever you want," I said, softly but demanding. The dragons instantly reacted to my words. They all flew pike down, revealing their sharp teeth. The dragon I was on, stayed still though.
He growled directly at the asshole. That seemed to make him gulp. "Don't throw fire at him. That will only make him stronger." Phoenixes can be reborn from their ashes. The dragon could chew him, but while there is even one piece of him left, he can be reborn. That's why I need the hydras. But it will give him a taste of death. "You may eat him, though."
Instantly we were flying straight towards him. The dragon's mouth was wide open. He tried and running inside, but it was useless. His blood dripped down the dragon's mandible. The dragon didn't seem to enjoy his meal because he/she instantly spit him out. I had to turn my head. It was utterly disgusting.
As I turned my head, I saw more soldiers coming this way. "We need to leave now," I urged. The dragon turned his/her head to look in the direction I was looking. He seemed to stop spitting for a second to spit the last piece of the fuckers arm sideways. I almost laughed as it tried to clean his/her mouth out of any traces. The dragon roared, getting the attention of the other dragons.
"Please make sure not to drop the bag," I screamed in surprise as he/she sprinted up. In a couple of minutes, we had landed beside Emily. She let out a scream in surprise.
"Get on, Hurry," I said, looking behind me. The guards of the town were running here already. Emily looked behind me. The stars and moon illuminating the silver armor of the guards. I stretched my arm out, pulling Emily up as she clawed up the dragon's long leg. She landed with a huff in front of me.
"Grab the bridle, but don't pull," I ordered Emily. I jumped off the dragon's back and landed in my heels. "Give me the bag," the dragon instantly released it. I grabbed and jumped back into his back, landing looking the other way around.
I pushed my hand inside the bag and took out a bomb. I knew it would kill them, but I had no choice. "I will need you to get close to them," I told the dragon. The dragon lifted in a flash, and I stretched my hand backward, holding Emily from falling sideways. Gods forgive me. I flicked the safety pin off and threw it down.
"Fly Away," I whispered, but the dragon heard me. I swung my left leg so now I would be facing frontwards. I put the bag in front of me between Emily and myself. I pulled out a huge hoodie and threw it over her head. I pulled out a hat, gloves, and scarf. I shoved the hat in her head, wrapped the scarf around her throat, and gave her the gloves to put them on.
"A, I think this is too much," Emily whispered.
"No, it's just enough," I told her. "And don't let go of the bridle. Your safety is one of my priorities now."
I took out the map. There is a portal that leads to every kingdom. I looked up and saw the stars. If we ride four hours south without stopping, we should cross the portal by dawn.
"Follow the Aquila Star," I ordered the dragon. "If we ride four hours without stopping, we should be there by dawn," I screamed to all the dragons flying around us.
"You may sleep if you wish," I told Emily as I put the map inside the bag. She laid back, and I tried to make her as comfortable as possible.
At that moment, the last few hours seemed to become real. I started laughing, and this time it was a real laugh. I got up and left out a scream in happiness. The dragons roared with me, and their roars seemed to resemble thunder.
I started walking through the dragon's wings from one dragon to another. I felt impossibly free, but this was just the beginning. I walked back to the red dragon Emily was sleeping, and I was surprised she didn't wake up through all that. She really must be tired.
Now I need to be prepared. I knew everyone would be coming for me now. The dragons were loyal but impatient. They weren't the most generous in the world. Their most important thing was their mate. It was more important than anything they have coveted before. That means that if Emily and I bring any danger to their mates, they will have no doubt or mercy in kicking us out.
This act will buy us at best three weeks. I slowly laid down next to Emily, drifting off.

I was in that magical meadow once again. I was dressed the same way as the last two times. I didn't bother asking the man inside the forest to come out. I just laid down and looked up. I looked up, and the sun seemed to be half black, half white.
"You know it's rude to stare," I said loud enough for the man in the dark to hear me.
"Not when the sight is as beautiful as you," the man's voice boomed around the meadow. His voice sent pleasurable chills down my back. I could feel waking up already.
"Until next time," we both whispered at the same time.
I wished I could put a name and face to that voice.
