Thinking

Pov. Asteria

Once we landed, I instantly threw myself off Bloodstar. I even forgot Emily was on top of her, but I didn't turn around to help her. I kept walking away. I even heard the thump of her falling off Bloodstar.

Once I was at a safe distance, I dropped on my ass, folding my legs. I took a deep breath and out, and then I realized I didn't know what the fuck I was doing.

I once again tried to focus on myself, canceling out any other sound around me. Suddenly I was knocked out backward. I was suddenly arching my back, letting out a silent scream.

It didn't make sense. I already had drank the cure. I tried covering my mouth, not wanting anyone to hear me. Then I was out. I didn't feel anything at all.

.

.

Everything was dark around me. I couldn't see anything. Where the hell am I?

I spun, trying to find anything, and suddenly there was a mirror. It didn't make sense, mirrors don't work without a specific resource of light.

I reached out, touching the mirror. It was me but dressed in a black dress. Nothing of this made sense. Why am I here?

I stared at my reflection for a second, realizing it stood a different way I was. I moved my head to the right, and it followed with a smirk plastered.

"Who are you?" I whispered, trying to figure out why I am here.

"Well, you, of course," she said, and I had to step back. That seemed to allow her to step out of the mirror. I was still shocked by her actions, making me fall backward. She chuckled and reached her hand out. I inspected it for a second but grabbed it anyway.

She turned around walking, away, and I contemplated for a second if I should follow her. I finally followed. It was better than staying here all alone in the dark.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Well, inside our head, of course," she said in amusement.

I inspected the place in wonder and somehow grief. "How long have you been here?"

"I've been here all your life, dear," she answered. "Well, in a cage, to be more technical, but I was released when you know what happened."

I shuddered at the memory, "Why were you in a cage?"

She turned to look at me, "What do you think?"

As we walked, I realized we were inside my castle, and inside of each door, screams seemed to be coming out.

We reached a familiar door, and I stepped back. That was my punishment room.

"Locked inside here all my existence," she explained, tracing the walls. "It's where our parents tortured us, meaning it became my cage."

"I'm sorry," I apologized dropping, to my knees.

"Get up a queen never kneels," she ordered. "And it is not your fault it was ours we were weak, I was supposed to protect you," she said, wiping my tears away. "But look at us now, I wasn't free the way I was planning, but I assure you we will take revenge."

"What is your name?" I asked.

"Well, I don't have one," she replied. "I never really had a reason for a name, I mean, I'm you, and you're me."

"What about Cahya?" I asked.

"I like it," she said, smiling. "What does Cahya mean?"

"Cahya means one who is the light in the darkness," I explained. "It suits you. I assume you are the one who killed the vampires, after I lost consciousness?" My answer was a nod.

Suddenly I heard Emily's voice, screaming out to me.

"That's Emily. I need to go back," she nodded.

"Take care of her, you have no idea how important she is," she said, but I had no idea what that meant. "Her mate is looking for her as well."

I knew she wasn't going to give me the answers. I mean, technically, she is me.

I just nodded. I felt drifting off back to the living, and out of the terrifying place my head was.

I took a deep breath in and snapped up. I felt sorry for leaving Cahya all there by herself.

I could hear Emily's screams. I took a deep breath in, trying to clear my voice.

"Here!" I screamed.

I could hear Emily as she stepped into the branches and leaves, but I didn't turn.

"A, you left, so suddenly, are you okay?" she asked.

"How long have I been here?" I asked, avoiding her previous equation.

"A few minutes no more than thirty, Why?" she said.

"I got lost in my thoughts," I said. I wasn't technically lying.

I got up, "I need to go hunting for Bloodstar. She deserves it."

I started walking back but avoided Emily's eyes. I didn't want to see the terror in her eyes again. I need the bow and arrows for hunting. Emily needs to eat as well.

Once we reached where Bloodstar was resting, I pulled out the bow and arrows.

"Hey girl, are you okay?" I asked. "You rest okay. I'll go hunt. You've done enough for today."

I eventually was capable of hunting a deer. My archery is quite good.

I threw the deer over my shoulders and walked back to the spot Emily and Bloodstar were resting. I threw the dear at Bloodstar, and she instantly ripped it apart and swallowed.

I knew that gave her enough energy to now go hunt by herself.

I reunited enough wood to make a fire.

"A, could you look at me in the eyes?" Emily's voice ringed out, making me lose consciousness.

"I can't," I whispered. "I don't want to see the terror in your eyes again."

"A, I'm not scared of you. I will never be. You just surprised me. That's all. You are my best friend, almost my sister."

Bloodstar left out a puff of fire and turned her head in indignance.

"Oh, is our dragon jealous," Emily said in amusement. "You are our sister as well."

I chuckled at their actions. I slightly heard Cahya chuckle as well.
