Pov.Asteria

"No, he doesn't," I snapped. "We don't even know him."

"He is our mate, A be reasonable," she begged.

"No," I finished.

She sighed and stepped back into my consciousness. Realizing no one can reason with me, well, technically us.

I turned around but did not give him my back. I had to be cautious. Even if he is my mate, he is still one of them, after all.

"Emily!" I screamed.

At that moment, it struck me. I gave Emily a transportation potion.

"Do you know how to get out of here?" I asked, still turning around, trying to find an exit.

"I do know the exit," he answered, amused.

"Could you show it to me?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"I will if you ask nicely," he was pushing my patience, although I did find it quite amusing.

I pulled my hoodie slightly back, making him look me straight in the eyes.

"Could you please show me the exist?" I asked, making my eyes slightly water, pout, and show a look of innocence. I was taught, at a young age, how to convince anyone in many ways. I hope I used the right one.

He seemed to be hypnotized by my eyes and pointed to my right. I smiled and followed his directions. I could hear him following me.

I could hear him whisper something that made me chuckle slightly, "you will be the end of me."

"Excuse me," I whispered here and there as we passed the hydras.

Once we reached the exit, I could hear the muffled cries of Emily.

"Em," I whispered.

She was hiding under, Bloodstars wings. I heard my mate pulled out his sword and, Bloodstar growl. I stretched my hand out, stopping his movements. Once we made skin contact, I snapped my hand back.

"Put your sword away," I snapped.

"But she is a dragon," he mumbled.

"And you have a cave full of Hydras," I said, as a comeback. "And she is not just a 'dragon,' she is one of my best friends, and her name is Bloodstar."

He looked at me with his mouth gaped open. Did he think I would bow down to him just because he is my mate?

I turned my attention back to Emily.

"Em, hey, what's wrong?" I asked, getting closer.

Bloodstar opened her wings and saw Emily reaching out, trying to cover herself again.

I sat by her side and signaled Bloodstar to close her wings.

"Will you tell us what's wrong?" I asked.

"Will you leave me... now that you found... your mate... and I didn't?" she asked me between sobs.

"What? No, of course not!" I exclaimed. "You are my best friend, and so is Bloodstar."

I signaled her in a signal to come closer to me. She crawled her way into my lap, where I swung her as if she was a baby.

"I promise, we will find an answer as to where your mate is," I promised and kissed her on the top of her head.

I touched Bloodstar's wing, making her open them. I saw my mate standing against a tree and seemed to be in a staring contest with Bloodstar.

I cleared my throat, gaining their attention.

"These are both of my best friends. We are the three musketeers," I laughed, hugging the three of us together. Bloodstar still didn't lose sight of my mate. I was grateful to have both of them.

I heard steps coming out of the cave, and I reached for my sword just in case and pushed Emily behind me.

I left out a sigh in relief.

My mate snapped up and got closer to them.

"Your majesty," they all bowed simultaneously.

"Your majesty?" I asked.

"Oh hello, we were looking for you," they said, pointing me the way back to their study. I tried clearing my thoughts.

Nothing of this made sense. There had to be a mistake. This has never happened before in history with a royal.

Emily notched me, making me snap out of my thoughts.

"Mmh, yes, I'll be right there," I walked up to them, not giving a single glance to my mate.

Once we reached their office, I could still feel him following us.

I sat on the same couch I sat on a few hours ago. He took a seat next to me, and I made it noticeable to sit as far away from him.

I went straight to the point, "What has been your decision?"

"Well, the majority voted yes," they explained, and I nodded.

"And?" I motioned them to go on.

"We will join you, but the ones that said not, unfortunately, we can't force them," I nodded in agreement.

"I'm in total agreement with you," I assured. "I couldn't force my people to do anything they wouldn't want as well."

The sudden voice of my mate surprised me. "What is she talking about?"

"Nothing that may include you," I snapped.

"It does when you are my mate," he snapped back.

"Not when we are enemies by blood!" I scremead, my eyes shined bright gold.

He leaned back and shook his head.

"My name is Asteria Light, future Queen of Elora, the light kingdom," I said proudly.

He seemed to not put any attention to what I just said, and turn his head to the hydra.

"What did she come here for?" he growled at them.

"We will help her bring down the Phoenixes," they explained.

"What?!" He snapped.

"We will help each other bring the Fenix kingdom down," I explained.

I turned to look at the hydra, " We will talk about how to proceed once we don't have bugs in the way," I snapped.

I opened the door. I look at him straight in the eyes and shut the door in his face.
