Pov.Asteria
I took off my heels and jumped straight into the water, not bothering to hold my breath as I would surface in a few seconds. I screamed underwater, making bubbles come out of my mouth. I didn't want to scare Emily. That's why I was doing it this way. I screamed until I knew I would drown if I stayed any longer. Technically I could die and come back to life, but my kind is never the same after passing away the first time.
Even if I was angry, most of all, I was embarrassed. I kicked and screamed underwater, which I knew I wouldn't do on the surface since I would look like a child throwing a tantrum. I saw to the surface and taking a deep breath.
I pushed my hair back, wanting to look at least decent. I turned to look at the girls, and they were staring at me weirdly. I gave them the best smile that I could master.
"So, how was the flight?" I asked.
I swim closer but stay deep enough for my essentials to say hidden underwater.
"A, are you okay?" Emily asked, raising her eyebrows.
I dismissed her with a wave of my hand like I saw my mother doing it a thousand times. "Everything is perfect."
I saw Bloodstar roll her eyes and turn her back to me.
"What?!" I snapped.
"You don't need to lie to us, A," she whispered sadly.
"What are you talking about?" I query not losing my act.
"What happened to your sweatshirt and undergarments?" She pressured.
"oh, that? I fell," I answered innocently.
Bloodstar stopped her actions and glared at me with her eyes. She pointed at Emily with her eyes and with her head slightly.
'What?!' I mouthed.
I knew what she meant, but I wanted her to fall into my lie as well. I knew it was selfish, but if they believed it, I would eventually as well.
"I swear," I snapped to Bloodstar, but once Emily turned, I gave her a bright smile.
She nodded and was about to run towards me, but I stopped her in her step and pointed towards my naked boobs. We both uncontrollably blushed, and I didn't know what to do to dissolve the uncomfortable situation.
I cleared my throat and looked up to Bloodstar, who seemed to be trying to advert her sight as well. I was glad I keep my body underwater, or Emily would have seen the finger marks.
"I need to talk to the hydras one more time before we leave tomorrow," I informed and started to swim away.
I swam to the middle of the lake and floated with my hands covering my chest just like a mummy sleeps. I could feel all the bruises that were caused by my mate disappear. It would look horrible for an outsider.
"You know you liked it," Cahya whispered, dragging put her words.
"Shut up," I snapped while blushing, making it noticeable in my pale skin.
"You can deny it all you want, but we both know the truth," she sang. "When you are ready to accept reality, contact me," she clicked her tongue, leaving me in total silence.
I kicked the water under me with my feet in a tantrum. Fucking bitch I growled. I mean, we are both bitches.
I knew I was completely healed and swam towards the surface. I knew Cahya was right, but I didn't want to admit it. Even if she was sometimes annoying, I had gotten so used to her talking that now I hated the silence.
I came out of the water dripping wet. I picked up the boots in the foreshore and walked back to Emily's backpack. I threw my jeans off and put on dry ones over my wet panties. I blushed as I remember for the multiple reasons that they would be wet. Damm it, Asteria.
I put on a shirt over my naked boobs.
For a second, I was thankful my mate decided to give me space. From the corner of my eye, I could see Emily walked towards me in her undergarments.
"Wow, Em," I cleared my throat and gave her my back. I reached for the backpack and threw it to her over my shoulder.
I heard her chuckle and looking for something inside the backpack.
"You can turn now," she whispered.
I slowly turned around and left out a sigh in relief to see her fully clothed.
I picked up my wet pants and took them in front of Bloodstar.
"Blow," I ordered.
She looked at me as if she thought I was joking.
"Blow," I repeated this time harshly.
She rolled her eyes and laid down.
I took a deep breath in and out. I didn't have time for fucking tantrums.
"Blow, please," I gritted out.
She gave me a smug look and what seemed to be a smile. I showed her my pants again, and she slightly blew, making sure she wouldn't burn them.
"Thank you," I said, giving her the fakest smile and making sure she knew it was fake. I turned around and snapped my pants closer to her face snout.
I knew she could devour me in a bite, and the fact that she hadn't fed in almost two days wasn't helping, but I was angry.
I knew it wasn't her fault for my anger but Cahya giving me the silent treatment made it worse. I reached my duffle and dragged it behind me as I walked back to the cave. The faster I talk to the Hydras, the faster we will leave tomorrow, and faster Bloodstar can feed.
I can only hope my mate doesn't give too much of a fight and accepts my decision.
