Chapter 48 : Deal with this.
Nectar silently walked out of the shop and threw the hairpin towards Liam. He frowned as he caught it " Where's the rest of Jewlica "? Nectar smiled slightly " We're gonna find her, let's go ".
Nectar had put a tracker in the kids ages ago. The day she touched their faces, she'd injected small amounts of her mana into them so she could find them when necessary [ Just never thought I'd use it so soon ]

Eros, Dodwen and Nosa had been searching the entire capital for an escaped prisoner, DEADLY LULLABY. Don't be fooled by the name, this man was dangerous. Though he'd once given to charities, his disgusting hobbies and crimes against children had been discovered.
His trial was meant to be today, he was going to be killed either way and the trial was simply a formality they had to pass. They were efficient and since he was still in the capital city, they couldn't let him get away.
They'd narrowed his location to the market place and were looking everywhere discreetly so as not to panic the people.
Nosa had been searching and caught a glimpse of the prisoner but he'd seemed to have caught a little girl. It was obvious she didn't want to follow wherever he was going but for some reason wasn't yelling for help.
Then he'd lost them in the crowd. What surprised him next was who he saw, Nectar but she wasn't dressed the way he remembered.
Though she still had on her white coat and gloves, her dress was no longer unnecessarily puffy. It now turned into a simple black knee length dress and gold socks but she wasn't smiling.
Running up to her, he nearly ran back [ Was she always this scary ] Her features seemed normal but it was obvious she was very tense and she spat at him, still walking " What do you want Nosa "?
Nosa cleared his throat " It isn't safe here my empress. There's an escaped convict, it could get dangerous at any time ". He expected her to be worried or scared but she smiled " That's alright. I don't think you should be worrying about that Nosa ".
Nosa furrowed his brows, trying to keep up with her " What do you mean your highness? Who could possibly be in more danger "? She smirked, slowly making an snowball in her hand " The idiot dumb enough to take Jewlica ".

Eros and Dodwen spotted their criminal and ran after him, past all the alleyways and people till they got to an abandoned part of the market.
Dodwen frowned as he unsheathed his sword " Isn't that one of the kids the empress's took in "? Eros raised an eyebrow, looking at the little girl who was obviously scared " I suppose she is " [ Kill two birds with one stone ]
For his plan to work, he had to demoralize Nectar and what better way than the people she cared about getting hurt. Deadly Lullaby held the girl tighter " Let me go or I'll kill the girl. I mean it ".
Dodwen's frown deepened " Who are you to bargain with the emperor? Release the girl at once ". But Eros had a lazy smile on his face " You can do as you wish but you're coming with us either way ".
Deadly Lullaby hesitated slightly but pushed the rusty dagger closer to Jewlica's throat " I'm serious, I'll do it ". Eros didn't show any change in expression but Dodwen was beginning to panic " Aren't we going to stop him Eros? The empress would be very upset if something happened to her ". [ That's what I'm counting on ]
But Eros spoke confidently " Its all part of the plan Dodwen. Just play along ". The dagger pierced deeper into Jewlica's throat, the girl screamed out as the spot began to bleed but the man suddenly froze.
Eros and Dodwen looked behind them to where the two were looking at and saw Nectar. Her lips were spread thin in an angry smile and her eyes were slightly squinted hiding her expression.
Dodwen bowed slightly as Nectar walked forward " My empress, this is a very dangerous situation. You shouldn't be here ". Nectar nodded and stopped where she was and looked at Eros " Will my emperor permit me to deal with this "?
Eros was slightly stunned by her formal angry tone but nodded [ It'd be better if you got yourself killed ] and she nodded back, focusing on the stiff man still holding on to Jewlica.
She waved her hands slightly and he placed her on the floor. He seemed as surprised as everyone else but Jewlica quickly ran over to Nectar who happily picked her up.
Patting her head softly she turned back and spoke to Liam " Deal with this, I'll take her out of here ". Nosa was a bit surprised but from the information he'd gathered about Liam, he wasn't even a level 3 galer so how could he deal with a level 4 criminal.
But Liam nodded and smiled slightly at Jewlica who was staring at him from over Nectar's shoulder " Yes my empress ". Removing his gloves, he cracked his fingers, Nectar stopped controlling him but he didn't get too far as he suddenly fell to the ground.
Liam lazily glanced at Eros " Would your majesty like to keep him alive "? Eros nodded, curious as to what Liam had in mind but Liam simply dragged him over to them.
Nosa frowned slightly but then he noticed that Deadly Lullaby was choking, in fact several parts of his body seemed to be getting squeezed leaving indentions on his skin.
Nosa felt like gagging and he could tell that Eros and Dodwen were as well as his flesh started ripping, slowly revealing the muscles and blood underneath but it didn't stop there and went all the way till his bones appeared.
Liam however had a calm blank expression on his face. He closed his eyes slightly as if waiting for something and when he opened them again, Deadly Lullaby screamed in pain while at the same time gasping for breath as the cutting finally stopped.
Nosa felt the color from his face drain as he rubbed his elbows, looked at Liam who now had a small satisfied smile on his lips and shivered [ They're both insane, demons!!! ]
