So I thought it'd be nice to clarify the concept of gods in this story.
I've created close to two dozen gods to aid the storyline and at the end of the day, I came to love them as much as the other characters. Anyway, the concept of gods and temples was introduced around Chap 154...I think.
Though I did get some visuals, from Pinterest it's quite unfortunate that I can't share the amazing pictures with you. If you have any idea how I can bring all you lovely readers together, do let me know in the comment section.
I decided to write this as a way to unofficially introduce the gods of the Crepta continent. So I'll be giving a brief introduction, general description of what they look like and a little background. Please understand that though they have control over certain elements, they also govern other things.
As a history lover, I used a lot of Greek and Roman mythology as references for what they control. I'll start now...
The concept of gods was something not understood or meant to be understood. They were four separate beings but seemed to work hand in hand. They were Time, Fate, Nature and Destiny. As time passed by, the four gave themselves other names.
OTHORNE, the eldest of the four, known as Father Time. A quiet, observant man with long metallic blue hair and shrewd grey eyes. He is the god of time, order, foresight, harvest, growth and prophecy. His sacred animal is the golden eagle, his sacred items include the clock and wheat.
NATTIROY, the third of the four, also known as Mother Nature. A rather vibrant, yet temperamental woman with raven black hair and beautiful green eyes. She is the goddess of chastity, kings, empires, heirs, punishment and young girls. Her sacred items include apples, white roses and a golden scale.
NIRKA, the eldest child and only son of the two was the embodiment of darkness itself. He is the god of the night and moon, wisdom, wealth, thieves, music and parties. A handsome young man with hair as black as the night sky and cunning gray eyes that seemed to resemble the stars. His sacred items include night phloxes and a black bow and quiver of arrows, his sacred animal being the fox.
TREWA, the adopted daughter of Othorne and Nattiroy. With her long white sea foam like hair and bright blue eyes, her beauty is more than refreshing yet captivating enough to drown a person. She is the goddess of the ocean and similar water bodies, floods, drought, skill, healing, love, children and wine. Her sacred items include the water lily and a white snowflake tipped staff. The dolphin is her sacred animal.
WASTRUM, is the younger twin sister of Nirka and Othorne and Nattiroy's only daughter. Though she is younger by about a century, she's a lot more mature. Though her presence could keep you warm, it was more than enough to burn you to crisp. She has stunning bright blonde hair and bright golden eyes. She is the guardian goddess of the sun, life, festivals, childbirth and battle strategy. Her sacred items include lavender, butterflies and a golden shield.
Wastrum had a deep hatred for Trewa because she spent time with her older brother. Half the day, when the sun came out, Wastrum would use her hot rays of sunlight to try and dry up Trewa's waters. Though upset by Wastrum's actions, Nirka would constantly beg for forgiveness on her behalf.
About a decade or so passed and though she was successful in drying up some of the water, it was far from enough to actually affect Trewa. That was when they noticed they'd accidentally created the clouds and the earth.
They'd created the 'twins', BELROD and GITAHO. BELROD, the god of the sky, thunder and lightning, wind, archery, duty, weather and the hunt. A rather regal, mature looking man with short hair that could turn from pure white to grey, a little beard and lightning golden like eyes.
His sacred items include Jasmine and a grey lightning like scythe. His sacred animal is the Raven. His main job was usually to stop Wastrum and Trewa from fighting, since Nirka couldn't be around to stop them.
GITAHO on the other hand was a lot more free willed but just like Belrod, she spent most of her time reporting back to Nirka at night when Belrod wasn't around. She is the goddess of the earth and earthquakes, trade, peace, creation, humanity and fruitfulness.
Much like her brother's, her long hair can change from a bright green to an earthy brown. Though her eyes used to be sea green, her left one has turned red due to an accident. Her sacred items include Carnations and a light green ivy wrapped wand. Bulls are her sacred animals.
She would often mold things out of earth to pass the time and try to entertain the others and it worked. She decided to create vessels she called humans so that they could interact more with each other. However, not every vessel could contain the essence of a god and the vessels didn't have a long shell life.
Even so, it worked and with they time they were able to enter each others domains. After about a century of petty fights between Trewa and Wastrum, the usually calm Gitaho lost her patience and was furious. After thoroughly scolding the two, they promised to stop fighting and they did.
Out of Gitaho's anger, an earthquake occurred and out of it was born MERFAL, the god of fire, war, weapons, metalwork, art, pleasure, volcanoes and violence. He was the embodiment of her rage yet she saw him as her son. He was rather unruly with his fiery red hair and forest green eyes. His sacred items include Desert Marigold and a black anvil and hammer. His sacred animal, the owl always tried to keep him from losing his temper.
He is the reason why one of Gitaho's eyes are red. In a fit of rage, he accidentally used his flames on her as she tried to calm him down. Though Trewa was able to heal the eye, it remained a bright red color.
Gitaho liked to give the others gifts and just like his mother, Merfal as well. Gitaho gifted them flowers and humans which they placed in their various domains. Merfal on the other hand, gifted them weapons he'd created. The others found these gifts precious and they would later become their sacred items, objects and animals.
