Chapter 22: The Queen

"We have men waiting outside the capital city, I've sent word telling them to hold off until we arrive," the leader explained to Lucy the next morning.

"Thank you," Lucia beamed, "I've also sent word to my brother who is in the capital, the meeting should be arranged by the time we arrive there,"

The leader nodded but said nothing. Lucy wondered why she felt so disappointed. But then again, a cold greeting was to be expected. She tried to put it to the back of her mind, but she remained uneasy. Soon after, they took off down the valley back towards the capital of Ascar.

Lucy soon found a cold greeting was an understatement when they arrived at the borders of the capital. There was a hostile divide between the soldiers of Ascar and the leader's men. It soon became clear that it was not only the Wind people who had a vested interest in the dispute.
