The following morning we set off on our request from the Adventurers' Guild Hall. According to Kane, it would take about two weeks of full days spent walking to reach the plateau of giants, where the man-eating cyclopes lived.
For breakfast that morning, he cooked me my own squibbet. I knew that this was his way of apologizing for Ishmael's rudeness the night before. Kane was always sweet like this. Garret watched me with sharp as I shared the bird with Kane. When I said I was ready to go shortly afterwards, Garret's expression turned surprised. He said nothing however and merely got ready.
Kane grumbled as we set off. Every minute or so, I'd see him shoot a dirty glare at Garret. Garret was totally unconcerned by this and smiling brightly. I think he overheard Kane's urgent whispers to me to leave him behind at the cottage. I had refused. Garret could teach me on the way to the plateau.
