Chapter 3

Doxin has a very high aptitude for magic.

I was currently resting on a stull as he cooked without using hands, he just casually wrote things down in a notebook before looking up to see if everything is done well. I had never seen magic before but heard rumors of it in the village.

"Doxin what type of magic do you mostly use?"

Doxin looked at me as if I was an annoying bug.

"I mostly use fire magic, but I can use all the other elements if I want to. To be a good butler, you have to know magic. By the way, what things are you good at? I could get you a butler position if you have magic."

I placed my hands on my chin resting my head as I glanced at Doxin before looking at the mesmerizing magic.

"I can't use magic. I have an okay education though, writing, math, and reading. I can do those." Hopefully, he won't tell Rouge.

"You can do those? What family are you from?" Doxin seemed shocked as he looked at me up and down.

"I come from the village 'Rushtome,' but it was recently destroyed by monsters, I had no family and learned from passing merchants and travelers."

"Oh, so...were you an orphan?"

"ᵒʳᵖʰᵃⁿ? I don't understand please tell me the meaning." I looked to Doxin eager to learn this new word. But Doxin just seemed taken aback as he looked at me like a madman.

"You-you're a little weird um it means you have no family."

"Oh, are you an orphan Doxin?"

"I was until I got adopted by a butler that's how I got my job today."

So Im guessing adopted means taken in by a person.

"The foods done." Doxin stood up plating the soup and passing me a bowl. It smelled delicious, my eyes sparkled as I took the spoon but every time I brought it to my mouth, it would be gone. Confused I looked to Doxin who looked to be holding back a laugh.

"What? What am I doing wrong?" I looked at the bowl in deep thought.

"You're not holding the spoon right silly, here like this." Doxin took my hand and adjusted my fingers before helping me scoop it into my mouth as a demonstration.

"It's so good!" I savored the food as I looked at Doxin whose face was still very close. His cheeks turned red as he looked away covering his mouth muttering things I couldn't hear.

Later I asked Doxin if he had any books which he proudly showed me a book room. Captivated I looked at all the books I could read and calculated the time I could finish all of them. About a week will surface.

"Doxin is it okay if I take a week to read these and then look for a job?"

-𝗗𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘃-

Eirwen is really strange.

"Sure but you have to find a job as soon as the week ends."

Yet I can't say no to his face.

He has eyes that shine like stars when learning something new, and half the things he learns are something any commoner should have common sense about. It's like he poofed into the air and was now learning things from the bottom up yet he knows reading, writing, and math.

Also, something I discovered, he learns too fast. Sometimes the speed he learns is scary and not to mention when he was talking about his village it sounded rehearsed. Like he had a whole plan in his head to tell people if ever asked, if I could compare him, I would say he's like a machine.

But if I looked past it, I find it cute. In fact, he so adorable! Like a stuffed animal! His face when he smiles makes my heart beat fast, and when I get close to his face I want to hug him and even kiss- no stop thinking about it!

I covered my mouth as I watched Eirwen take a book from the shelf and begin to read.

"Is something wrong?" Eirwen's confused lovable face scrunched up.

"Nothing, enjoy your book I'll be out for a while don't make a mess," I waved as I left the room in a rush.

When I first saw him at the doorstep I would have never expected a beautiful guy to be under that black cloak. There's something about Eirwen that makes me want to protect and cuddle him, his aura is just too pure!

I walked outside taking a deep breath and going to the market to get some supplies.

His smell. That's right, his smell is what im most attracted to. It's something I've never smelled before and makes me feel hot, I can't describe the smell it just smells so good. If diamonds and gold had a scent, I think Eirwen takes the cake.

I should slowly make him mine though, I don't want to scare him.

-𝗘𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘃-

It's been a week since I've stayed here.

I've learned a lot. History, fantasy, romance, and horror. The ones im most interested in were the books telling facts and ones that showed you how to do magic along with alchemy. I also learned about this world more in detail and the history of it. I know of the current world and have studied the maps. The most boring subject was the romance and horror genre, I don't get it at all.

Lately, when im in bed, Doxin comes in the middle of the night and sleeps beside me. It could be a Neko thing or just trying to get warm, but I don't mind. In fact, I think it feels nice and has gotten our relationship closer.

I can consider us "friends" now.
