The day went by quickly in preparation for the travel.
Eirwen had found out about Doxins secret stash of cash, it was indeed a lot of money, and suspicion on how he had gotten that much money was stashed into the corner of his data.
Eirwen was currently packing the library books while loading them onto the carriage they recently bought, Doxin had left to buy an ox for the carriage and some food supplies. While waiting Eirwen sat in the carriage protecting their stuff, he had seen stealing more than once in this city and knew it wasn't rare. He had gotten his stuff stolen on the first day in the city...Eirwen frowned at the thought.
"Eirwen!" Moving the curtain he saw Doxin waving as he brought two ox's over.
It was silent as they began moving out of the city. The silence didn't bother Eirwen but Doxin was starting to become uneasy a few minutes after leaving.
"Um...master"
Doxin nervously glanced at Eirwen who took bites of an apple. Sensing the fluctuation in emotion and determining it as worrying or nervousness Eirwen silently nodded to continue.
"Where exactly do you want to go first?"
Ah...Eirwen dumbfoundedly sat up in silent contemplation.
"Wheres the map?"
Doxin fished out a map stopping at the side of the dirt road while pointing at different locations they can go to.
"There Takon home to bird people in the next city, the town Muer a bit before Takon..."
As Eirwen listened to the many places to go to and looked to where Doxin pointed before taking in the whole map, he realized, the world is too big. Suddenly Eirwen was lazy.
"Let's start with visiting kingdoms as our goal and then make our way down to cities and towns than villages," Eriwen yawned.
"There are 30 kingdoms that I know of and the map only has one kingdom, we would have to get maps for each kingdom since they're too big. Anyway, the kingdom we'll go to first is called Imporal and the capital's name is Polten. it'll take two weeks to get there by carriage and we will sleep in the closest towns and cities as we travel. Convenient isn't it?" Doxin smiled picking the momentum of the carriage back up.
"Yes, very convenient," Eirwen nodded feeling fulfilled while finishing his apple.
"So what's the kingdom about?" Eirwen asked curiously.
"You don't know? Even villagers know of the kingdom- anyway, it's like most kingdoms. Filled with all kinds of life that walk many paths, it's known for its sects, guilds, and the royal family."
"Royal family?"
Doxin glanced with a gleam in his eye as he explained to the best of his ability.
"They're the family that controls the country and run it, keeping it safe from invaders such as other kingdoms and establishing peace, although sometimes there are bad kingdoms..."
"Oh I see, I remember I read something like that in the books I think I must have mistaken the word 'royal family,' my bad." Eirwen held his chin while shaking his head a bit.
"En"
The travels of the neko and human were very peaceful, only coming across some weak monsters that Doxin dealt with accordingly, Eirwen realized he doesn't have much power besides modifying his human body, which didn't kill predators. But he could mesmerize fighting tactics into his data, copying it in use later. Eirwen had gone to the training grounds in Steam City to just silently observe in his free time, he would only use it if necessary.
Eirwen looked up at Doxin, he had a partner who could do it for him. Nodding silently at the monster killing machine, he realized he came in handy quite well.
Doxin noticed his gaze and narrowed his slitted eyes before grabbing Eirwen's waist and pulling him beside himself protectively. Doxin had no idea he had been perceived as a useful killing machine in Eirwen's mind.
Eirwen took a deep breath before resting his head on Doxins shoulder, now he realized he was also a good heater, pillow, and chief. Suddenly a notion came to mind that slowly formed into a new discovery...
Doxin was a good butler. The qualities were all there, and he enjoyed it.
Ollie was a good mechanic. He did his job well, and he enjoyed it.
The baker was a good baker. They enjoyed making food for a living.
Everyone had something they were good at and a job to go with it depending on how life goes. Eirwen looked to the sky, he didn't have a job and was just...wandering around. He could be an adventurer but he lacked the enthusiasm, he lacked a lot of things. He felt he was missing something and only Doxin fulfilled a portion.
"Doxin I have a question."
Hearing a hum from Doxin, Eirwen continued.
"There are eight immortal weapons right?"
Feeling Doxin stiffen at the question Eirwen waited patiently for him to continue.
"Yes, there is, how do you- no wait where did you get that information?" Doxin sounded serious as he slowed down the carriage. Confused at the sudden change of air Eirwen looked up only to see sharp eyes on him and the grasp on his waist tighten.
"Am I not supposed to know of it?" Eirwen came to understand this information was probably confidential and had a bad feeling.
"No, it's fine it's just only a few know of how many immortal weapons exist and you shouldn't be one of them..."
"I see, so your not a simple person." Understanding Eirwen straightened his back before becoming cold and calculative.
"You have one don't you Doxin? I have a goal I kept from you, it was to look for all eight immortal weapons."
"And what do you want to do with the immortal weapons?" Doxin became relaxed the aura he was emitting retracting until he even seemed lazy.
Once Doxin heard Eirwen mention the immortal weapons he had become tense and unsure of how to go about the situation. He wanted to form good relations with Eirwen and his smell slowly coaxed him to be gentle and slowly go about the situation maturely. When Eirwen had said he wants to find the weapons an odd feeling of relief washed over him and suddenly he felt as light as the clouds. Doxin knew Eirwen wasn't a threat, that was the instinct that drove him to the point of wanting to form a relationship with this human, or whatever he is.
"What do I want to do?" Eirwen repeated although mostly to himself in thought. Eirwen came to the conclusion of not knowing but wanting to find.
"I just want to see them I don't know what I would want to do, observing is fine."
Doxin wanted to laugh at that cute answer, it was like he just never thinks and just goes for whatever came to mind.
"How did you find the information of the immortal weapons?"
"I just know." Eirwen didn't know how to explain that it was already in his data and just settled with something that didn't quite answer Doxin's question.
"How do you know of the immortal weapons Doxin?"
"I'm afraid if I tell you you'll be scared," Doxin laughed his 'cute' neko fangs showing, suddenly Eirwen found him 'cute.'
"Nonsense, you have one right? Can I take a peek?" The curiosity of wanting to know data on his fellow immortal weapon took hold on his reasoning for a short moment making him look up and almost seemed like begging.
Doxin blushed as he held his mouth looking away in a silent fluster.
"I-I um actually have t-two" Doxin coughed out a feeling of not regretting upholding this conversation came about.
"Two?"
Eirwen's puppy dog eyes blinked blinding Doxin as he screamed in his heart and coughed up blood.
"I cant show you them now though, I would have to visit the other owners of the weapons to um- get permission. There's actually an owner in Imporal we can meet him there." In a bout of almost spilling his actual thought, Doxin came up with a reasonable conclusion.
"Okay," Eirwen was patient, and hearing that he could probably take a look at something similar to him made him feel he wasn't lost and that was his job. His role was to look at the weapons, it wasn't a goal, it was a job.
