Lorenzo stared in shock. He didn't even touch her.
"Babe, what happened?" Connor, Angela's boyfriend, asked as he helped her stand up. He just arrived at the place where he told her to wait and he saw her on the ground crying.
"Con...Connor...wuwu..." Angela kept crying. Connor looked at Lorenzo.
"What did you do to her?" He asked.
"I did nothing to her. She sat on the ground on purpose." Lorenzo defended himself while looking at Angela. He could not believe that she would frame him this way.
"You pushed me." Angela sobbed.
"I didn't. You fell on your own."
"You pushed her. Apologize."
"Enzo, I know you hate me for breaking up with you. But that's the past. I have a boyfriend, I can't get back together with you. You didn't have to push me to vent your anger."
"You heard her. Apologize to her immediately." Connor ordered.
"I will not apologize for what I did not do," Lorenzo said and clenched his fists in anger as he looked at Angela. He could not believe he once loved such a woman. When did he even ask her to come back to his side? "By the way, you don't have evidence that I pushed you."
Connor called a bystander and asked what happened.
"I saw him push the lady. They were speaking with each other at first but I don't know what they said the man pushed her down and tried to walk away. I didn't know he could be so shameless to push a lady." The bystander lied. He wanted to be in CEO Connor's good graces.
Lorenzo's anger intensified. Connor was angry too. He had to deal with matters involving his girlfriend and this cheap man. He felt he was wasting his time but he had to get justice for his girlfriend.
"The evidence proves that you pushed her. I said apolo-"
"What's going on here?" A gentle feminine voice was heard. Lorenzo turned around and he saw a lady wearing a white top with a long black skirt. Her hair was tied up in a bun. Her face had no makeup but it was still very beautiful. The woman looked like she walked out of a painting.
"Ava?" Lorenzo called out.
"What's going on?" Ava hooked her arm around Lorenzo's. Her eyes were cold as she glanced at the two people who were troubling her husband. She recognized them. The man was the young master of the Sanders family, while the lady was Lorenzo's ex-girlfriend.
Connor stared at the woman who just arrived. He watched as she hooked her arms around the man who was troubling his woman. He recognized her immediately. Who in the business world wouldn't? She was the Demoness. She was formerly the young miss of the Martinez family before she was kicked out when she was sixteen.
For four years no one knew where she disappeared to. She appeared one day as the CEO of the largest fashion line in the country. The old men in the industry underestimated her because she was just twenty. But she proved that she wasn't to be trifled with. Her methods were ruthless.
She cut down anyone who stood in her way. Many companies went bankrupt and many powerful families were destroyed. That was how she earned her title. Her company rose to power in a year and no one dared to mess with her anymore. Coupled with the fact that the five Devils were her backup.
Most people in the social circle thought that she would have her revenge on her family, but she didn't touch them. She just ignored their existence.
Not many people would recognize her, except in the business world. Looking at her partner, Connor could deduce that he had no idea about her identity. He decided to shut up in order not to fall into the bad book of the Demoness.
"It's nothing, Ava," Lorenzo answered.
"Oh, you have a new girlfriend," Angela said surprised because they broke up the previous day.
"She's my wife," Enzo said which made Angela stumble. When did he get married?
"Mister?" Ava raised a brow and looked at Connor. "Tell me what was going on."
"It's nothing. Just some trouble between ex-lovers." Connor said with a nervous laugh which surprised Lorenzo. He saw how respectful he was towards his wife even though he tried not to show it.
"Hmm. Keep your woman in check. Enzo is my husband now. I don't know what happened but I don't think I want it to repeat itself, Mister."
"Yes. Yes. I will. Let's go, Angela."
"Enzo, let's go home," Ava said as she pulled him away. Enzo kept silent and stared at his wife. From the way Connor respected her, he knew she wasn't a simple person.
'Who are you, Ava?' Unfortunately, he didn't have a device that could connect to the internet, unless he would have checked her name.

"Connor, why didn't you do anything? And who is that lady that you have to be so respectful to her?" Angela asked in the car.
"Angela, please don't go look for trouble next time. I can't tell you who that lady is but be warned. She is not to be messed with," Connor said.
Angela was surprised. Connor attached himself to someone important. A smile was in her face as an idea came to her mind.
