I'm married

Ava shivered. Damien was giving off a very cold aura. Vincent sipped his wine in silence but one could tell he was angry. Calvin narrowed his eyes.

"I was just busy," she said.

"Who knows what would have happened to you if your guards weren't there? What if you were hurt?" Damien asked.

"Ava," Vincent spoke up. "they are not going to target us directly. They'll get us through you and I want you to protect yourself. Please. We don't want to lose you. I don't want to lose you." Calvin coughed at the last sentence.

Ava lowered her head in guilt. She knew that her brothers cared very much about her. Their identities were so special that they were the target of many forces.

"I'm sorry. I'll be careful next time."

"You'd better be. Because next time, I'll make sure your brother and Jason hear about it," Damien said which scared her. She knew how scary those two were.

"Please don't," she begged, her eyes watery.

Looking at her expression of guilt, Damien sighed. He couldn't let anything happen to her again. He didn't want her to get hurt again.

Ava was exhausted and sleepy.

"It's late you should get going," he said.

"I'll take her," Calvin suggested and carried Ava out, princesses style. He went to the private parking lot and put her in his car.

Little did they know that someone was taking pictures of them.

Meanwhile inside the car...

"Ava, what happened. It's not like you to not know what is going on around you. We're you busy or did something happen?" Calvin asked.

"Nothing happened," Ava said.

"Ava, whatever happened, I'm here for you okay?"

Ava sighed. "Third Brother?"

"Hmm?"

"Promise me that you won't tell Damien and Vincent. I'll tell them when I want to."

"Tell them what?" Calvin asked.

"Just promise me."

"Okay, I promise."

"I'm married." Ava dropped the bomb.

"What?" Calvin wasn't sure he heard clearly.

"I said that I'm married."

"When did this happen? Who is he? Did he force you? Was it blackmail? Tell me. I'll kill him." Calvin was fuming with anger.

"No, it's not like that. I willingly got married to him." Ava said.

"Ava do you love him? Does he love you or is it just for your money?" Calvin asked.

"I love him and he doesn't know about my identity." Calvin sighed in relief.

"Ava, why did you get married in the first place?"

"Love at first sight," she answered.

"You know marriage is not for fun, right?"

"Yes." she nodded.

"I want to meet your husband."

"When?"

"By Saturday."

"Okay."

"I'll drop you off."

"Thanks *yawn* Third Brother."

Lorenzo woke up and saw the woman sleeping soundly beside him. Her hair was covering part of her face. Her breath was steady. He didn't know when she got home. He brushed away the hair to have a full view of her face.

Looking at her, Lorenzo smiled. He thought it wasn't such a bad thing to have a wife. In his mind, he vowed that he'd work harder to get them out of this place. He placed a kiss on her lips before he went to prepare for work.

Ava opened her eyes as he walked out of the room. A smile bloomed on her face.

"Boss, Miss Mae is here and-" Grey's words were interrupted by the click-clack of heels against the tiles. A young lady walked into the office. She wore a white dress with slits and black six-inch heels. Her hair was straight with curls on the edges. On her hair was a white rose.

"Elder sister, how have you been? It's been very long since I last saw you." Mae asked Ava her cousin. Her eyes were filled with jealousy and hate as she looked at this cousin who had always been better than her. Till she was kicked out of the family. But now she's a successful businesswoman.

"I'm not your sister," Ava said with gritted teeth.

"Aw, don't be like this. We are family you know." Mae said.

"We stopped being family seven years ago. If you have nothing important to say, get out."

Mae threw an envelope on the table. "It's my sister's engagement party. I hope you come. She and Felix are getting engaged."

"No need. I'm not coming," Ava said. she wasn't interested in anything about the Martinez family.

"Your ex-fiance is getting engaged to someone else. He never loved you, Ava. So just come and congratulate your cousin on finding a marriage partner," Mae said.

Ava rolled her eyes. She didn't care. She had gotten married anyway. Felix was the fiance her family chose for her. They were friends before he betrayed her. Ava was hurt by his betrayal but she didn't care anymore.

"At least I didn't take what wasn't mine," Ava said.

"At least she kept herself pure. Unlike someone, I know who kept sleeping around even when she was engaged."

"We don't have that kind of relationship, Mae."

"Really? Then explain why the devils hover around you. Why do you have them wrapped around your finger if you didn't seduce them with your body? You have nothing but your pretty face. That's why Felix chose a better and purer person."

"I know I'm very pretty, darling, and sexy too. Not like someone who expects them to fall for her ugly face and unattractive body." She did not deny the claim. Ava stood up and twirled around showing off her well-proportioned body. Grey who was standing by almost drooled, if not the glare Ava gave him.

"I'm not ugly!" Mae screamed before she calmed down.

"Grey." He knew it was time for Ava's cousin to leave.

"Please ma'am, it's time for you to leave."

Mae clicked her tongue before she spun around and left.
