Do you love my sister?

A few minutes after Mae left, Ava received a phone call. It was her brother, David.

"Elder brother."

"I hope you received the invitation to the engagement party."

"Yes, why?"

"I want you to be there."

"What? I don't want to," Ava said.

"You have not been here for a long time. Also, I have something to discuss with you," David said.

"We can discuss it somewhere else, can't we?"

"Ava, I gave an order and I expect you to be here." He hung up. Ava opened the envelope and saw that the engagement was two weeks away.

Ava put her head on the desk. She sighed. She never wanted to go back to the Martinez mansion since they framed her and kicked her out.

That night...

Ava and Lorenzo lay down side by side. They were both awake. Ava's back was facing him while he gently ran his hands through her hair.

"Hubby," Ava called.

"Hmm."

"I told my brother about our marriage." She turned to face him.

"What did he say?"

"He wants to meet you." Lorenzo's heart thumped. His brother-in-law wanted to meet him.

"When?"

"Saturday."

"Okay."

Silence descended on the two for a few minutes. It was broken by a sigh from Ava.

"What's wrong?" Lorenzo asked her.

"It's nothing," she said and shut her eyes. She was worried about herself and her husband. Her attackers may use him as bait to get to her. She wanted to tell him about her identity but he had so much on his mind already. "I'm just tired."

Lorenzo pulled her closer and wrapped his arms around her waist. She didn't push away but instead relaxed. Enzo was happy that she didn't reject him.

"Good night." He kissed her forehead.

In a hospital in another part of the country...

Inside a VVIP ward, a man was lying on the bed. His eyes were shut and his face was very pale. On his face was an oxygen mask. Standing beside his bed was another man with black hair. He was 1.9m tall and he was dressed in a black Armani suit.

"How long will it take for you to wake up?" he asked.

"Well, today I came to deliver bad news," he continued. "Ava is married. Yes, your woman got married to another man." He paused.

"I am going to speak to her about it. I think will accept their marriage if she's happy though I don't like him. I have a feeling that I'll meet you soon, though I don't think it's in this body." The man laughed to himself. Just then the door opened and a 1.9m tall, well-built man walked into the ward. He wore a black shirt with black pants. His right ear was pierced and he wore a black stud. On his left eye was a scar. The scar didn't disfigure him but added more masculinity.

"David, let's go." He called to the man beside the bed.

"Aren't you going to speak to him?" David asked and the man shook his head. David stared at the man lying on the bed for a while before he followed his friend.

"Aren't you nervous?" Ava asked as she held Lorenzo's hand and walked into the cafe. They were going to meet Calvin today. She asked him because he seemed very calm.

"I am," Enzo answered truthfully. His heart was thumping hard against his chest. He was scared that her brother won't accept him.

They took a seat beside the window and Ava ordered tea for them both. Suddenly, their attention was captured by a white limited edition Lamborghini which parked outside. A man stepped out of the car.

He was wearing a red t-shirt black jeans with black sneakers to match. As he stepped out, his golden hair shone in the sun. As he walked into the cafe, there were gasps as people recognized him. Some took out their phones to take pictures. Calvin winked at a group of girls and they all squealed.

He looked around for Ava and he saw her waving to him. He smiled and walked towards her. When he reached her table, she hugged him tightly. He noticed the man who was beside her and nodded. She didn't marry someone with average looks. He was extremely handsome.

"I'm Calvin Orlando Ava's third and favorite brother."

Meanwhile, Lorenzo saw that Ava's brother was quite famous. Also looking at the car, he deduced that he was wealthy. He frowned as he didn't know if she'd accept him because of his status.

Also, their surnames were different. He shook Calvin's hand.

"Ava, I want to speak to your husband. Please excuse me, but you should go sit somewhere else."

Ava looked at Lorenzo and he nodded. She skipped to another seat from where she'd see them both.

"Lorenzo Hales," Calvin spoke. "Twenty-five years old. 1.92m tall. November 15. Lost your mother at the age of three, father remarried when you were six. Has a stepsister, Noelle. Father had an accident five years ago and it resulted in health complications. Don't have enough money for hospital bills.

Graduated from college with honors, but couldn't get a job till recently. Had a girlfriend who dumped you. On the same day, you married my sister. Working at Kybers."

Lorenzo was shocked. "You...you investigated me?"

"Of course I did," Calvin replied with a smile. "I had to know the kind of person that my sister married."

Then his eyes became sharper as he looked at Lorenzo. Lorenzo was surprised at the sudden change. He shivered under the pressure.

"So Lorenzo Hales," Calvin said, "Do you love my sister?"
