Be ready to face everything

'Love Ava?' Lorenzo thought.

At first, he thought that he loved Angela, but he realized that Angela didn't matter to him as much as Ava did. Maybe it was because of the way she cared for him. Angela never gave him the reason to work harder to get out of his position. But now, he wanted him and Ava to live in a much better place. He wanted her to be a part of his life forever.

"I love her," Lorenzo answered.

"Enough to sacrifice a lot for her?"

"Yes," Lorenzo blurted out before he narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"

"Ava hasn't told you whom she is. I know she'll tell you at the right time. Just know that she isn't simple." Both men looked towards where she was sitting and saw her concentrated on sipping a milkshake. Calvin smiled meanwhile Lorenzo pursed his lips when he saw two other cups on the table. His wife loved sweets very much.

"Just try hard to protect yourself. Ava is my responsibility but as her husband, you have to know about your wife."

"Is she in danger?" Lorenzo asked but Calvin didn't reply.

"I don't want my sister getting hurt by anyone. Even if it's her husband. Because if you do or if she's hurt because of you... no one can guarantee that you'd see another day.

Ava has people who love her and cherish her and they are more powerful than you can imagine. They'd do anything for her. I'm her third brother. the other two don't know about you yet. Well, they wouldn't like you though."

Lorenzo looked at the table. She had three brothers. Two of them won't accept him. And the one before him is warning him about her people.

"Ava has a biological elder brother. I'm sure he knows his sister is married and I guess he'll be coming back soon to meet you. If he accepts you, then God bless your marriage. But if he doesn't, divorce her immediately but if you love her as much as you claim... be ready to face everything," Calvin said. He knew how dangerous David could be. He didn't have that tattoo on his back for nothing.

Now Lorenzo was wondering what kind of connections she had. Another question hanging on his mind was 'Why is she so attracted to me, a nobody?' His will was slowly building up.

Calvin glanced at his watch. He had an appointment with his agency today. "I have another appointment so I'll be leaving." He looked towards Ava and waved signaling he was going.

Before he walked out, Lorenzo asked, "Why did you accept me so easily?"

At that Calvin turned and smiled. "Her brother will accept you for the same reason. You'll know soon enough." He walked out only to see a crowd in front of the cafe. Some fan had given away his location.

Lorenzo had no idea what he was talking about.

"Hubby." Lorenzo looked at the woman who just stood before him. "What did Calvin tell you?" Lorenzo smiled and held her hands.

"Let's go home, wife." Ava looked at their entwined fingers and smiled widely.

"Who is the dress for, Ava?" Grey walked into her workshop.

"It's mine," she replied. "Since I'm going to the engagement party, I have to look my best."

"What of Master. Are you taking him?" Grey asked. He was talking about Lorenzo.

"Do you want David to kill him? What would he do to Enzo if he finds out about our marriage?" She concentrated on her work.

"Like he doesn't know already," Grey murmured.

"Huh? Did you say something?" Ava asked.

"No, I'm leaving." He turned to leave.

"Wait, help me take care of my father-in-law. Just stage something because I know Lorenzo doesn't like being treated a charity case."

Ava recently found out about his father's case and she wanted to do something to help him.

"Okay."

In the hospital ward, the man who was lying on the bed suddenly opened his eyes. His obsidian pupils looked at the ceiling. His jet black hair and pink lips contrasted against his pale skin.

The man removed every piece of equipment attached to his body and stood from the bed as he walked around the room. He walked to the balcony of the VVIP ward. The cool breeze of the night blew on his face.

The man's eyes had a faraway look as a smile played on his lips. His lips called a name, "Ava." His eyes were full of affection like he was seeing the person. Suddenly his eyes darkened. He turned back and went back to the hospital bed and lay down.

He fixed back everything to his body in the appropriate places. He stared at the ceiling and smiled while whispering, "We have always been meant for each other, Ava. Right from the beginning."

Before he shut his eyes, his pupils turned a bright red color. Everything was calm again after the man slept but soon the room's temperature dropped. From the patient's body emanated a white mist which took a human form.

It was the same as the figure on the bed. The mist floated above the ground to the balcony before it flew in a certain direction. it disappeared into the darkness of the night.
