Chapter 33 – Green Orchid's Missions

Description: The Green Orchid Settlement has been in a difficult situation since it is founded. Without any area under their rule, the life of the resident is hard.
However, the condition to conquer the Green Orchid Area has finally been found by one of the residents. To conquer this area completes the following missions.

Participant: All Green Orchid Settlement's Residents
Contribution Points: 1000 points [Only those that contribute to the mission will get the points]
Rewards: All activities related to the mission will give all participants experience points]
Adrian read the mission and he was surprised when he read the description. "My study of the Green Orchid activated the mission," Adrian gulped. He did not expect that what he learned about the plant was the trigger for conquering the Green Orchid Area.
That was not the only mission as there were three more missions below it.

Description: The Green Orchid plant has the potential to become a really useful plant. The effect produced by Green Orchid is useful but too weak. An improvement to the plant is needed for it to give a better effect.
Improve the Green Orchid Plant's range of effect to at least 1 meter and the natural healing to 1%.

Rewards: Every action related to the mission will give experience points]
[Mission: Green Orchid Area 2

Description: Improving the Green Orchid plant once is not enough for the plant's whole species. There needs to be a lot more of the improved Green Orchid plant to be found in the wild.
Plant the improved Green Orchid Plant in the wild and increased the improved version of the plant in the wild. The improved plant needs to grow naturally and not the one improved by the resident.

Description: As the wild started to be filled with the improved version of the Green Orchid Plant, there bound to be the best of the best of them. To fully conquer the Green Orchid Area, find the 'boss' of the Green Orchid Plant.

Adrian read the three missions related to the first mission and he understood why Keith was frustrated. It was understandable because improving, planting, and searching them in the wild would take a long time, and not only that but three of the mission's grades were S.
Having three 'S' missions spoke how hard the mission would be. Although Adrian was the one triggering the mission, he did not know how to improve the plant. He might have some idea but implementing it was not easy and might fail too.
Also, the three missions were related to each other and without completing one mission, they could not complete the others. Without improving the plant, they could not let it grow in the wild. Without letting them grow in the wild, they would not be able to find the 'boss' of the Green Orchid plant.
"This looks like a long-term mission," Adrian spoke.
"I have no chance of participating in this mission," Keith felt like crying. The contribution points offered by this mission were a lot and he wanted them. However, he knew his ability and his in-game character was not suitable for any of the missions.
Maybe the 'boss' spoke in the Green Orchid Area 3 mission sounded like a fighting mission. Be that as it may, it was a plant and it was simply a mission to search for the best wild Green Orchid plant. There was no way fighting could occur.
With Keith's specialty being in the fighting department, he stood no chance to complete or even participate in the mission.
"What are you talking about? Is this how an Agriculture student should speak? This mission is especially suitable for us who study a lot about plants. Our in-game character may not be suitable for this mission but our real-life knowledge may work well in this mission," Ceylon did not want to give up.
Similar to Keith, his specialty was not related to the Green Orchid too but as someone who enrolled in the Agriculture Course, something like improving a plant was part of their lesson. They might not be able to do as well as those purely focusing on Biotechnology but they were not that useless either.
"That's right, Keith. Ceylon is right. We should be the ones to spearheading this mission if no one in this settlement majors in Biotechnology. Also, even without the knowledge on that part, this is a fantasy game and any fantasy-like method will work," Adrian smiled.
"We may not need to even apply the real-life method to this game if we found the fantasy method. Also, considering this to be the beginner area, I am sure the mission sounds hard but it is not. The 'S' grade mission is scaled based on everyone's ability in this settlement. Since everyone is weak, the difficulty is increased," Adrian spoke of his observation.
Keith's eyes lit up. He forgot that this was a game and the fantasy solution must be available in the game.
"Anyway, I wonder who triggered this mission? That person must be good to be able to find out about improving the plant. I don't think knowing about it is enough to trigger this mission. So, that person must have done more to activate this mission," Ceylon spoke.
"Urm… I am the one who triggers this mission," Adrian raised his hand. Keith and Ceylon were surprised and they realized that there was a weird bunch of Green Orchid Plant planted nearby. From their memory, that bunch was not there earlier.
Adrian was not sure if he was the one triggering the mission but he got a notification awarding him with contribution points, experience points, and money for triggering the mission. Due to this notification, he decided to tell them.
As for the three things he got, other than contribution points, the experience and money were doubled due to his Authority Level. He got 50 Contribution Points, 2000 Experience Points, and 2 gold coins.
He supposedly got 1000 experience and 1 gold coin but due to his Grade C Authority Level, he got doubled of them.
"For real?!" Keith was surprised. He never thought it was his dear friend that triggered the mission. He felt proud and could feel that he had some chance to participate in this mission.
"I am just interested in the plant but I never thought that this is the mission to conquer the area," Adrian scratched his head. He saw the potential of the plant and never thought the condition to conquer the area would be activated.
"So, do you know the method to improve the plant?" Ceylon asked. Since Adrian triggered the mission, he must have some kind of idea to improve the plant.
"I don't exactly know the method but I do know the problem that we can solve to improve the plant," Adrian replied. Keith and Ceylon listened attentively.
"There are a lot of problems inside the Green Orchid plant. For example, some of them lack the proper nutrition to grow, and thus, it impedes the growth of the plant. For this problem, if we can find what nutrients are needed by the plant, we can experiment on the right method to plant them," Adrian explained.
"With the right method of planting and the right nutrient for their body, this can somehow help improve the plant. Even so, this is probably not enough. Natural improvement may not be enough to complete the mission."
"So, a direct improvement will be on the problem I mentioned just now. We need to look at how the plant releases its effect. From my study a few hours ago, the effect of the increased natural healing is spread by the plant's whole body. Every cell in the plant's body is responsible for releasing the effect."
"However, the range of how far the effect goes is managed by the flowers. You can say the whole plants release the effect but the flower is the barrier that controls how far the effect is released," Adrian spoke. Keith and Ceylon nodded.
"To increase the effectiveness of the natural healing, we need to improve the cell of the plant and I don't know the method to do that but I found out that the veins carrying the plant's energy to the cell are narrow. So, improving the veins may help in improving the cells," Adrian spoke of his findings.
"With sufficient energy supply to the cell, the effect may improve. As for the range, I found a defect in the flower. If we can fix this defect, the range will get bigger. Ah, for this, because the flowers are connected to the veins, improving the veins may improve the flower too," Adrian finished his explanation there.
"So, the main problem is the veins. If we can fix it, we mainly do the big thing that needs to improve the plant," Ceylon nodded.
"…Wow, did you find that out in a mere few hours?" Keith asked while looking at Adrian in awe.
"This is a game, so everything is simplified. I don't think I can do the same if this is real life especially when I don't have the basic knowledge of the flower," Adrian smiled.
"Anyway, we should work on this tomorrow and for now, we need to prepare to guard the settlement from the nocturnal creatures," Ceylon spoke.
"No, you guys need to learn the two skills first before you want to do this mission. You will not be able to do anything without these two skills," Adrian told them how he found out most of the things about the plant.
Ceylon and Keith were fired up to learn Energy Control and Energy Manipulation. Without these two basic skills, they would not be able to do the conquer mission.
As such, the trio prepared for their first night in the settlement. A few days had already passed since they arrived at the settlement but due to them logging out of the game for a few hours, this was their first night.
