Akira went into the forest close to their home so he could meditate in peace. Instead of instantly trying to use magic he first wanted to plan how he would do it. He remembers that in one of the books Hana read to him it said that magic could be used by manipulating the mana around you. Since in his previous world there were things like ki meditation he was already pretty familiar with this concept. The difference is that here people seem to store their mana in their heart while in his old world they would store their ki in their abdomen. He decided he would store it in his abdomen as he was used to doing. If his parents asked him about it he could just say he forgot about it and that this felt the most natural.
Akira sat down in lotus position and first made sure he was completely calm. Once was sure of that he started by trying to feel the mana around him. This wasn't to difficult thanks to his knowledge of ki cultivation. One thing he did notice once he sensed mana was how different it was from ki. If ki was a river that was always steady then mana would be a wild uncontrollable sea. Akira decided to persist and managed to guide the mana towards his abdomen. Once he did that he felt happy but he cheered to soon. The second he let his guard down he felt an immense pain in his abdomen and even spat out some blood. Realising that it wouldn't be a walk in the park to control the mana he decided to give up for today. He went back to the mansion and went to sleep.
When he woke up the pain in his abdomen was worse than the night before. It felt as if a little bit of mana wasn't cleared out and ran wild inside of him. Of course when he went down for breakfast his parents instantly noticed something was of so they asked him "Are you okay Akira?" Aiko sounded concerned while Daisuke sounded more puzzled as to how Akira got hurt. Akira realised his parents would find out what he did either way so he decided to be honest with them. The second he said it Daisuke interrupted him and yelled "I told you to wait didn't I!" I know you are talented and I know how much you want to learn magic so why did you think I told you to wait!" Akira was shocked at how mad His father was but seeing that his mother agreed he realised that he was definitely in the wrong. After that Aiko and Daisuke explained to him how his heart could have given in if he lost control. It was then they realised something. "How did you manage to hurt your abdomen if you were trying to control mana?" They said more to themselves than to Akira. Akira replied by explaining how he tried to store his mana in his abdomen instead of his heart. Aiko and Daisuke were very confused by this so they asked him to explain why. He then explained "It just felt more natural when i was doing it that way." While his parents were confused by this they were also intrigued by it. "If we manage to improve on this method you might have brought a massive innovation in magic do you realise that."
Akira thought about one of the lessons he had with Hana. It explained how mages would have to train their hearts to store more mana. This however would make it very risky to push your limit. The trio discussed on what to do with it and finally decided "We will also tell your grandfather about this, but until we know exactly what to do with it do not tell anyone else about this method." Akira knew how much this training method would change people's view on magic so he agreed. "Ok and now go to your room." Daisuke said confusing Akira. Seeing the confused look on his face Daisuke said "What, you snuck out in the middle of the night and practised magic when i told you not to. You're obviously grounded young man" Daisuke said while chuckling a bit. Akira realised he was wrong in what he did so he apologised again and accepted his punishment.
The next few days were pretty boring since all he could do was sleep eat and learn but these days went by pretty fast for him. The fifth day his punishment was finally over and his father would teach him the basics of magic. When they started his father asked him "You told me you were more comfortable with storing the mana in your abdomen. Do you want to store it there or will you use the conventional method?" Akira pretty quickly replied "my abdomen." "Keep in mind that I will be of less use that way." Daisuke said so he knew Akira was sure. Akira confidently replied "I am sure father." This was enough for Daisuke to trust his son's choice.
He started of by explaining the steps needed to control mana. "Now i know you have an idea of how this works already but I am still going to explain it." He said showing he was still ticked of at what Akira did. "First of sit in a comfortable position." He said as he sat down on his knees. When he looked at Akira he didn't understand why he would sit in lotus position since it didn't loon comfortable but he had learned already that his son liked to do things his way. "Secondly try to remember the feeling of the mana the bishop infused during the ceremony." "Once you have done that try to sense the mana around you." "You will notice that mana is very wild and difficult to control." He put an emphasis on the last part while looking sternly at Akira. Then try to gently guide the mana to your Hea- abdomen while trying to calm it down. Once you have done this you get to the most important part. Try to have the mana move around in a circular motion and keep it that way until it stays like that without your aid." "Now then you can try it however do not lose focus for even a split second remember that." Daisuke once again emphasised the last part because while he wasn't going to aid Akira he was still worried.
