Lessons?

"You, you are Zack's first disciple right?"

"Yes."

"Good. Then in exchange for sheltering Zack's family and this Rank 6 kid, I will be sending you for war."

"War? But…"

"Yes, yes. There is not war currently. All the three kingdoms are living in peace, and the smaller dutchies can only squabble about here and there for small parts of land from each other."

"…"

"Hehe, I am not talking about the regular wars between humans on Maradona. If I remember correctly, you should have been there with Zack when he went along with the expedition force to eliminate that duchy that offended Pierre. But you should not be knowing that Zack had become an Intermediate knight after participating in a war far more dangerous that the expedition. It was here that he gained enough resources and opportunities to advance to Intermediate Knight, and then to Rank 12 in one fell sweep."

"This…"

Both Daron and Bob were stunned for words, while Roselle, Angela, and Zoey, who had awoken a few moments ago and heard everything were pale.

"Haha, he was but a Novice knight at the time, but still somehow survived that crazy place. Hehe, now, you will have to go there and fight for Maradona. Naturally, you will be paid for your services, and in case you die, you family members will be taken care of. Also, whether you survive or die, I will take care of Zack's family and this kid until they die, so go without worries."

After finishing his words, Traitorous threw a stone token which seemed to be completely ordinary, however, as soon as it touched Bob's hand, it exploded into dust, and a bluish white light similar to the once surrounding the teleportation arrays when they activate, enveloped Bob before he vanished.

Stunned at the sudden turn of events, Daron, Roselle, Angela, and Zoey were simply stuck in their position until Traitorous broke the silence.

"Come along now, we have a lot of work to do and time stops for no mortal! Chop-chop!"

Just like that a few days passed and Daron got used to life in the capital.

The group lived in the house that Traitorous resided in, which was a mansion equal to that of a low-ranking noble mansion in the Inner city where only the nobles were allowed to step foot in. Just from that fact, one could tell that Traitorous' prestige and importance within the capital of Pierre was incredibly high since he was one of the few non-nobles who lived within the inner city.

However, what was strange was that he did not have any servants in the entire mansion that took up as much space as the entire servant's quarters in Bard City.

In fact, Traitorous had already assigned Daron to do all the duties of cleaning and collecting groceries etc.

Naturally, this only happened after a certain conversation.

"Say old man, you house is incredibly dirty."

"Hmph, then you can be in charge of cleaning" Traitorous snickered as he waited for Daron to take back his words and apologize.

"Alright, however, as you said before, there is a price for everything."

The old man stopped walking and turned around to look at Daron for a good while before nodding and asking, "So, what do you want brat."

"First, call be Daron, not brat or kid."

"Rejected"

"Secondly, Give me equal status and power as you"

"Rejected"

"Rejected"

"Teach me magic"

"…"

"Come on now, at least give me one of my proposals…" Daron was about to continue when he noticed that Traitorous had not flat-put rejected him and saw his pondering face. His face lit up, since this was the 6th time he was subtly asking the same thing, and finally a new reaction other than rejection appeared on the old man's face.

"You really want to learn magic really badly huh?" Traitorous finally spoke as he lifted his head and stared at Daron.

"Hehe"

"This is the 6th time you are asking for it. Something like this cannot be hidden from a mage."

"Hehe" Daron just laughed once more while scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

"Fine. But, you will have to manage everything of the house including groceries cleaning and any other needs, along with anything else I tell you to do. For this work, I will give you 1 lesson on magic every week for an hour and not a second more."

"YES!" Daron unconsciously exclaimed loudly, most likely something caused due to the changes to his personality due to the Internal energy.

"Brat, go on and start your work. I will have your first lecture in a week. So go and do everything properly."

The old man waved his hand and Daron left the room with smiles plastered on his face.

And thus began the life of a mage, 3 lady guests living in luxury, and 1 servant Daron.
