Energy Site once more

After a while, Daron had calmed down considerably.

Daron simply sighed at Sirious' question and stared at the sky with two moons suspended in the middle of the river of milky white stars. This was a scene that he never got to witness back on Earth. Then again, he lived in his own room, without bothering to ever leave unless absolutely necessary.

From his room, although the sky could be seen, whether it be day or night, he could never actually see the sky, only clouds made from the pollution of the city. Neither the sun, moon, nor the blue sky were visible, only greyish white nothingness.

'We go to the energy site. Since there is nothing remaining her for me, and Rachel will still take a month to recover. It would just be a waste to return back to the capital.'

After making up his mind, Daron moved, and within 3 days, he was back at the abandoned city.

He took out Snowy and sent a message through the connection in his subconscious.

'Listen Snowy. I will be going in there. However, if you go in there, you will die. So do not enter. I trust your instincts will prevent you from doing that anyway. But make sure to hide from monsters and the likes, and if you are found, just run near that golden building on the other side of the city' he said as he pointed towards the church.

Naturally, since Snowy had a collar on it with the name 'Snowy' on it, the church was highly likely not to kill it, but instead help it out and save it.

'Alright, make it all numb again, I don't like pain.'

Suddenly, Daron felt like he was incredibly sleepy and his body was nearly completely limp, just barely standing. With much effort, he moved his feet one at a time, and slowly entered the city, instantly his body was breaking down, absorbing the energy, and then using around 80% of the energy to rebuild his body, while the rest was absorbed by the main system.

Carefully moving through the city, Daron arrived at a house and entered, making sure he was out of the view of the church, before closing his eyes.

'Sirious, remind me when 20 days pass.'

He was not sleeping. Instead, he opened the book on the mana training method and began reading.

In the middle of reading, which was incredibly slow compared to before due to the numbness in his mind, Daron asked Sirious.

'How come my clothes don't get obliterated within this energy?'

[Non-living things are no affected negatively. In fact, living beings that are high enough in their level of existence will also only benefit from this energy.]

After that, Daron just nodded in his mind, and continued reading at the speed of a 1st grader reading a book.

Thankfully, due to the system, he had two benefits that helped him greatly. One was its function o instantly and continuously record everything. This made it so that as soon as he flipped through all the pages once, he had the images stored in the system. The Second was that once he actually read something, the system would make it so that he would never forget.

This meant that even with the terrible speed and style of reading, as soon as he read a word, it was ingrained into his mind in the same way that the Pythagorean theory was ingrained into the minds of every middle-schooler.

Just like that, 20 days passed, and Daron was nearly 70% of the book. Once he left this place, it would take him another 3 days of reading to complete it.

'So, how many upgrades were able to occur?'

The second upgrade was a unique upgrade that will only happen once. It improved your subconscious. The size of it, its strength, and overall, everything about your subconscious has been upgraded.]

'Anyway, do you know why this energy exists here?'

'Then… Why don't we investigate?' after hesitating for some time, Daron brought up this point, to which Sirious naturally had not issue.

'Give me back a little more thinking power, and a little more motor functionality, just enough so it is uncomfortable, but not painful for me.'

[Master… do you perhaps like-]

'No! I'm not into that! I hate pain, and you should know that! It is in case I find trouble within this energy; I need to be able to react at least, possibly saving my life.!'

And based on those instructions, Sirious slightly increased the nerve activity to improve everything a little more without causing Daron to feel too much pain.

And so the exploration of the [energy site] began.
