The hell?

'What the hell was that?' Daron thought to himself as he slumped to the ground, unable to move due to the over-exhaustion of his Vitality.

Without thinking any further, Daron took out a Vitality pill from the pouch he had tied around his waist, and bit into it.

Instantly, he felt slightly better, but that dd not last too long, and he slumped to sleep once more.

When he woke up, he received the notification that his Vitality had increased by 5. However, that was not enough for him to reach back to his peak, and furthermore, he could apparently not even use Internal energy till his vitality reached 10.

His current Vitality was still at 8, and for that, he would need to eat another Vitality pill, but that would knock him out for another month. Before he did that, he needed to do a few things.

His current body was almost half as healthy as his normal body, which made even menial activities like walking laborious.

However, Daron persevered and slowly trudged his way to the old man's room and walked in before hysterically laughing in satisfaction. All the emotions he had suppressed over the past few months seemed to be completely freed at this moment, in this laughter that seemed to echo through the empty hallways of the old man's house.

The one in question, casually looked up for a moment, before returning to the work he was doing.

Noticing this odd situation, Daron looked at this old teacher of his in annoyance.

"Aren't you going to ask me what happened?"

"I already know everything that happens in this house. At the very least, I know the gist of it."

"Hmph. Alright then. Don't care about me. But let me just tell you, that during this last absorption, my mana did not increase by 0.1"

Hearing this, the Traitorous finally looked back at Daron in slight interest, picking up his quill and putting it into the stand. Daron did not miss this and just smiled.

"This little disciple of yours, now has a total of 2 whole mana! Hehe, that means that once I am able to cast beginner spells, I will automatically be able to cast two of them within a single fight! Haha!"

Although Daron himself was already an old man, who already died, even considering the years he spent in this life, he was still nothing but a small child to this old man.

Traitorous naturally ignored the latter part of what Daron said, and abruptly stood up and vanished from his spot. The next moment, he appeared next to Daron and spoke in a rushed, yet calm tone,

"Allow me to inspect you."

Although Daron himself could not see the old man's movement, with the help of Sirious, he was able to perfectly see that the old man had used wind enhancements to increase his speed to a nearly super-sonic speed. But he used that same wind to prevent anything within the room from being affected by the enhancements or high-speed movement.

'Sigh, when will I be able to do this?' Daron questioned as he allowed the old man's senses to enter his body and check his mana.

[Not until you become an official mage. That is… not anytime soon]

'How can you be so cold-hearted?' Daron spoke in his mind, in a voice as though he was being literally stabbed in the back by a trusted ally, left to die in some forgotten alley; a truly Oscar winning performance.

[I do not have a heart]

'Alright, enough dilly-dallying' Daron corrected himself in his mind. Just as he did that, Traitorous exclaimed.

"Marvellous! Truly, marvellous. Boy, tell me, how did this come to be?"

Daron did not mind, and explained everything, from the moment, he entered his conscious space, till he left it.

"This could have something to do with the fact that you are a Draconian. But it might also have something to do with that past life of yours." Traitorous came to a few conclusions, but could not come a definite answer to this.

"But that can be researched later on. What is more important is your spell learning. This increase in mana can only be good for you. But you must quicky recover your vitality and begin learning your spell. We might even be able to fit in 2 beginner spells if you try rea hard, and are smart enough."

"Alright. I do not mind. I will go for a month's sleep now. And maybe 2 months, to recover all my Vitality. But when until I return, I need you to buy a few Novice knight 'herbs'. I do not need any time to absorb these, and my Internal energy has not dropped since I started training. Alright, I will leave that to you, I'll just owe you some more magic stones."

Daron had already learned the art of shamelessly scamming from the old man himself, and was already becoming quite adept at it, leaving the teacher in a daze, as he quickly left the room.

*Thump*

Only to fall flat on his face just a few steps ahead due to the instability of his body. However, he did not give up, and just ate the Vitality pill, then and there, knowing in full that the old man would take care of him.
