Deal

All of a sudden, just before she blew up from rage, he anger almost completely vanished, replaced with contemplation as she lowered her head while thinking.

"2 months?" she asked Daron.

"Hehe, let's just say I have some insider information. As long as you, and those fellows over there agree to behave, I can shar it with you guys."

Stunned, Patrice turned her head behind her, seeing all those people who had woken up coming out from the stairs, clearly, they had followed her back up, and been listening into the conversation.

Sighing, Patrice nodded, "Alright."

Her problem had also been solved. Instead of having this strong looking barbarian be her escort and bring her stuff to her room, she could have one of these people, who were clearly instructed by their teachers or parents to take care of her.

Come and sit, let me explain how things are going to go.

"The journey from here to the Land of Mages is actually 2 years on this air-ship. However, they clearly wouldn't want everyone to waste their time on this journey. Therefore, the trip will only be 2 months long, stopping at a super-long distance teleportation array, where we will halt and wait for all the other air-ships for a week, before teleporting one by one directly to our respective organisations."

"The 2-month journey there should not be too dangerous, but the main danger will come from the week long wait at the teleportation array. Therefore, we need to stick together until we successfully teleport and leave danger. Then, anyone can do whatever they want."

Everyone present, fell into silence, while Daron and Doug continued eating their meal in much-desired peace.

After a minute, Patrice nodded and agreed, and left, with her squad of everyone else on this ship, and went to her room on the lowest deck. Since it was closer to the washroom, food storage, kitchen, and the fact that it was safer, the lowest deck was naturally the most desired.

'Normally, there should be a big fight for dominance among us and one or at most two people would become the leaders. But thanks to her being here, it appears that everyone else was sent here to help her out. So, there is no need. We can just come to a compromise!'

This was the brilliant solution Daron came up with, which would prevent any of them from 'losing face' and using that as a non-sensical excuse to try and kill him or something, leading to a domino effect of himself becoming the enemy of many major mage organisations.

"Haha! I am so smart!"

[Master, the scenario you thought about usually only happens in the novels you and some other people wrote. Normally, it should not happen like that.]

'But it was almost going to happen this time right?'

[Yes…] Sirious admitted defeat for the first time.

Doug looked at the gloating Daron with a strange expression, however, he soon nodded as though understanding everything, while in reality, he clearly misunderstood the whole situation.

Doug assumed that Daron was going to peruse Patrice, and therefore his actions also made sense; starting off by getting on her good side, while keeping her interest piqued about him.

Daron just finished his food and stared at the sky while Doug was finishing his food. However, suddenly, something caught his eye.

In the night sky, he saw that the stars had patterns, and after joining the dots, he found quite a few constellations that were similar to those on Earth. In fact, they were more or less exactly the same.

Leo, Scorpius, Ursa Major, and Ursa Minor!

Seeing the easily recognisable Little Dipper, Daron guessed that the Land of Mages was in the far north of the continent, since they were heading straight towards Polaris.

'But that does not make sense, since… if that is true, this world would have to be in exactly the same spot as Earth. However, according to the explanation I have received thus far, this is not a planet, but a Plane, called the World of Mages. And surrounding it is… the void…which sounds awfully similar to a combination of space and flat-earth theory…'

'No! But how could that chaotic energy be explained then? And what about these powers of Mana and Internal Energy?'
