Food

Just as Daron was falling into a cycle of self-doubt, Doug finished his food and walked towards Daron, who was just staring at the night sky, unmoving, and poked him with his rather thin fingers.

Being pulled out of his trance, Daron shook his head a few times before nodding to Douglas and bringing his plate with him to the kitchen to wash it.

As they made their way to the lowest deck, he faintly began hearing clashing sounds in the distance. Although the ship itself was not very large, there was something that significantly reduced the noise within any room from leaving the room, and further suppressed noise penetrating through floors.

Now that Daron and Doug had arrived on the lowest floor, they could barely hear the noise within the kitchen.

*BAM*

Daron slammed the door open and took a step in, only to quickly retreat back a few steps, stopping himself from being drenched in water, placing Doug in danger, completely drenching him, with the pot of cold water falling perfectly onto his head. Instantly, all the noise inside the kitchen stopped, as they looked over at the people who just arrived.

Looking at the scene in front of him, Daron was utterly speechless. Even Sirious could only give out a single word…

[Chaos…]

Veins bulged on Daron's face as he sucked in air, stepped out from behind poor Doug, and shouted out loud,

"What the hell are you all doing!! Line up!"

Subconsciously, everyone present, including Patrice lines up obediently. However, even though they had serious expressions on their, the flour, water, vegetables, and other ingredients all over themselves, it was hard for them to seem all that serious.

Daron calmed himself and looked at the state of the kitchen, and then shook his head.

"Clean the kitchen, then I will teach you how to cook food. But no one will get food before cleaning the kitchen, and you need to clean the kitchen after you finish eating as well, or else no food for tomorrow either."

Like a parent reprimanding his children, Daron made a compromise, while also handing out deadly threats, before leaving the kitchen to check on the damage to the food stores.

However, he already had a bad feeling as he was walking to that direction. Why? Because this was very clearly a crime scene. Blood-stains of jam and flour were spread across the floor as though someone had used missiles filed with food instead of explosives in the corridor. He could only hope the storage had enough food to last them 2 months.

However, just like everything the kids had done so far, this was also a disappointment.

Clearly half of the food was missing, most likely washed away in the sink, thrown into the garbage, or left somewhere unknown, in a state that could not be recovered.

[This much should last all of you 14 children for around 1 and a half months. If you can stretch it, you can last for 2 months. Naturally, you should be able to survive a month without any food, but that would also affect your stats, making you temporarily weaker. And if you still persist in not eating, you will die in 2 months of starvation.]

'At least everyone won't have to starve, Daron sighed in relief.'
