Reunion

Annie's POV

Eren stood there looking at me with the same dead eyes.

"W-what are you doing here?" I asked

"To meet you." replied Eren

"Keegan told me what happened. You were alive this entire time. Why didn't you come back to me?" I asked

"You seemed happy with Armin." said Eren, "Just as I predicted."

"Eren I'm sorry but you have to understand that I don't love him." I said

"Really? Then why did you stay quiet when you were at the bar with him?" asked Eren

My eyes widened.

"I was there, listening to your conversation." said Eren, "Why do you think I sent Keegan to kill you?"

I stayed silent, not knowing what to say.

"Eren... I'm sorry." I apologized as a tear rolled down my cheek

The wind blew gently as we stared at each other. But then a chopper began to descend behind Eren.

"Where are you going?" I asked

He ignored me as he turned to leave but I ran up to him and hugged him and started sobbing into his back. Eren stopped walking and stood still as I kept crying and proceeded to hug him tighter.

"Please come back to us. We can still fix everything." I cried, "I want you to be there with me."

"Let go." said Eren, "Please."

"Eren please..." I sobbed

"All of you will be free. Do not worry." said Eren

He pried open my hands and walked off.

"Eren don't leave please!" I cried

He turned and looked at me as I collapsed on my knees.

"Why why?! Please just forget about all of this!" I cried

He approached me and my eyes widened as he hugged me.

"It's okay, don't worry." said Eren

I gently hugged him back.

"You and I... will watch this world burn." said Eren

I gasped and he pulled away and got on the chopper.

"W-wait Eren!" I yelled

But they took off into the sky leaving me there crying.

One hour later

Ghost's POV

I sighed and shook my head.

'He's not after the nuclear silos anymore... what is he after then?'

Even with Eren, those two couldn't do all of this by themselves. I tried to track down Keegan from his previous location but I couldn't track it after covering a mile.

'Eren... maybe I can talk him out of this.'

I continued down the path until I got to a road.

"Hacker, come in." I said into my headset

"Hacker here." replied Hacker's voice

"Where does this road lead to?" I asked

"To an old barn sir. I don't think anything's there." said Hacker, "Let me double check."

I walked on the road but something felt off. I looked at the road and I saw that the environment was disturbed, indicating that someone was here.

"Sir it looks like it used to be a mining area. It was a secret route used by the Russians and it's connected to some kind of secret nuclear silos." said Hacker, "There's an elevator in there that'll lead you down but I don't know if it'll be working."

I walked down the road and saw the barn. I approached the door and saw that it was unlocked. I slid open the door and I noticed an elevator but no platform to stand on. I looked at the generator and it was turned off. I touched it and it was slightly warmer than usual.

"Someone was here." I said

"I wouldn't recommend shooting in there, it'll set off a tremor like blowing it up with dynamite." said Hacker

"Got it." I replied, "I might lose you in there."

"No you won't. I gave you the latest radio, you'll be able to reach me anywhere." said Hacker

"Convenient." I replied

I jumped down the hole and used my sword and stabbed it into the wall slowing me down. I landed on the elevator platform and I began to make my way into the cave. It was dark so I turned on my NVM on my visor and looked around. I kept walking for a long time but I got to a dead end.

"Nothing." I whispered

I looked around and retraced my steps, making sure I didn't miss an opening but there wasn't one. I began to touch the rocks on the wall but then I noticed that the rocks looked out of place. I began to touch the rocks and push it just to see if anything happened. I sighed and kicked the rock and it broke off revealing an opening.

I walked in and it looked like an old underground base. I began to walk around the opened up space until I got to the middle where there was a giant vault on the ground. A missile silo door that looked outdated was sitting there. I checked the hinges on the door and they looked like they were just used. That's when I felt something creep up from behind me but before I could do anything I heard a gun cock.

"Turn around." said a familiar voice behind me

I turned around and saw Keegan standing a few feet away from me with his pistol aimed at me.

"Surprised that I was able to sneak up from behind?" asked Keegan

"Keegan let's talk this out." I said

"Talk it out? You had that chance multiple times." said Keegan

He takes off his mask and drops it on the floor.

"How long huh? How long did it take you to get over my death?" asked Keegan, "You probably went around living your life forgetting about me right?"

"That's not what happened." I said

"Shut up you emotionless bastard." he growled, "You probably didn't even kill Michail Antonov yourself right?"

I stood there in silence.

"Fucking answer me! All I ever wanted from you was a teeny bit of love. Not even love, attention." I said

"And I'm sorry." I said

"No you're not. You're not at all." said Keegan, "How can someone with the most amount of kills on this planet have sympathy towards me."

"You have to understand that everything I did was for your good." I said

"You're a fucking liar!" yelled Keegan

I looked at him, Keegan glaring at me.

"What happened to you?" I asked, "What did Eren do to you?"

"I'll tell you what happened." said Keegan

Keegan's POV

I groaned and slowly opened my eyes. I looked around and I was in a dark room. The only source of light was the one shining above me. I tried to move but I saw that I was handcuffed onto the bed.

"You're awake." said a voice in the darkness

I tried to break away but I felt dizzy. But then I remembered what happened before, Reaper, Kraken, Michail Antonov, the grappling hook going through my chest, falling to my death and being bombed.

"Where am I?" I asked, "How am I still alive?"

No response.

"Hey! Talk to me!" I yelled

That's when the handcuffs on my bed opened, releasing me from the bed. I got up but I had to hold myself up so that I wouldn't fall. I looked at myself and I was perfectly fine, no wounds. That's when I heard footsteps approaching me from behind and I turned around and saw someone in the shadows, all I saw was his mouth and clothes, not his eyes.

"Who are you?" I asked

Without answering he stepped into the light and my eyes widened as I immediately recognized him.

"Uncle Eren..." I whispered

His dull green eyes looked into my soul. I looked around and tried to look for something to attack him with but there was nothing.

"How are you still alive?" I asked

"Follow me." he said

"Where are we going?" I asked

He snapped his finger and the lights began to turn on, showing me the entire place. My eyes widened as I saw that I was in some kind of huge advanced production area.

"Come." said Eren

I hesitantly followed him as I looked around.

"5 years ago, you know what happened." said Eren, "I was killed and the world was safe."

He turned and looked at me.

"Well that's what most people thought." said Eren

He continued walking into this beehive looking thing. We entered and there were a bunch of hexagon pods. I looked into one of them and there was just this kind of liquid inside.

"Is this what I think it is?" I asked

"Titan serum." replied Eren

I continued looking but in one hexagon there was a floating body and my eyes widened.

"That's... that's Zeke." I gasped

Eren nodded and I looked at him.

"Are you the real Eren?" I asked

"The one who was killed 5 years ago was my clone." said Eren

"Clones? What do you mean by clones?" I asked

"During judgment year, the TMO were able to design clones so that they could use them as soldiers." replied Eren

"What about Sentinel? They had to know." I said

"They did, they destroyed everything but I kept some." replied Eren

"Why would you do that?" I asked

"Why would I keep the information?" questioned Eren, "Or why would I make a clone?"

"Why would you make a clone?" I asked

"Because I knew that even after I died this world will continue to threaten Eldia so I had to stay." said Eren

"Well that's all good but I need to go back and-"

"Everyone who you know thinks you're dead. They had your funeral." said Eren, "I found you all wounded, an inch away from death. I saved you, created a clone with your injuries to make it look like that's actually you."

"You son of a bitch... you took everything away from me!" I yelled

I lunged towards him but in one swift kick he kicked me away. His kick hurt so much I coughed out blood and I felt that my ribs were broken. But suddenly my ribs began to heal, steam coming out and my eyes widened in shock.

"I gave you a second chance. I made you into a titan shifter." said Eren

"W-why?" I questioned

"You and I have the same goal. We both want to save the world and destroy the evil presence from this world." said Eren

"You're not wrong there." I replied

Eren looked at me.

"And that's where I knew you were perfect. You would do anything to save people." said Eren, "Let's put this in a scenario. You can save the entire world if you kill just one person."

He approached me and kneeled in front of me.

"Kill your father to save the world." said Eren

"Kill my father?" I gasped

"Why you can't do that?" asked Eren

"What kind of son would kill their father?" I asked

He sighed and got up.

"Your father couldn't kill Tessa and that caused hundreds of soldiers to die." said Eren

"What?" I gasped, "He never told me that."

"Because he thinks that killing her was not an option." said Eren

I stayed on the ground and shook my head.

"He could have saved so many lives but he made everything personal." said Eren

"I would never do that. I would have killed her to save the hundreds she killed." I said

"I know you would." said Eren, "So what will it be?"

He held out his hand.

"Your father or the entire world?" he asked

"I'll kill my father to save the world." I said as I took his hand.

Present day

Ghost's POV

"You killed me." said Keegan

My eyes slightly widened.

"If only you allowed me to join Sentinel earlier or made me stay in the Marines for a bit longer I wouldn't have ended up in this situation." said Keegan, "Maybe I would have been alive who the fuck knows but who cares."

"... I know." I replied

"No you don't. You don't fucking know!" yelled Keegan, "You don't understand that you made me like this. You turned me into the thing you didn't want me to turn into. You did!"

Keegan slowly approaches me.

"Remember the lesson you taught me? Choose your mission, don't let it pick you." said Keegan, "And you know what mission I chose? It's to put a bullet in between your fucking eyes."

"That's enough Keegan." said a very familiar voice

My eyes widened as Eren walked up from behind Keegan. I began to hear more footsteps around me and I saw multiple hostiles in military gear circle around me and aim their weapons at me.

"It's been a while Colonel." said Eren with his usual voice, "We didn't get to meet for a while."

"You weren't available." I replied

"Yes that is right." said Eren

"Eren what you did... why did you do it?" I asked

"War after war we keep fighting. I fight for Eldia's safety and so far, the world only sees Eldia as a threat." said Eren

"And that can be changed." said Ghost

"How?" asked Eren, "We tried."

I stayed silent.

"You and I both know cause we both went through a lot of things. Titans will forever be used as weapons." said Eren, "You and I cannot change how people see Eldia."

"What makes you so different? You're using them as a weapon as well." I said

"And in order to prevent any further use of the titan serum I will sacrifice millions in order to save billions." said Eren

I looked at him and remembered something from my past.

"Eren... I've been there." I replied

"I'm not surprised." said Eren, "I may not know what exactly but I know you probably did something in order to save your team. Probably something that you want to forget but can't."

I stayed silent and looked around but someone caught my eyes.

"Commander Salazar..." I whispered

More soldiers began to appear dragging someone and my eyes widened.

"Ares..." I whispered

Ares was thrown onto the ground and I noticed that he was badly injured. He looked up and his eyes widened.

"Ghost..." he groaned in pain

"Why do you have him?" I asked

"Oh... well this one's personal." replied Eren, "That's why he's the only clone that has emotions."

"Eren, that's enough." I said

"Why? I thought you hated him as well." said Eren

"I do." I simply replied

Eren sighed and began to circle me but I stood still.

"Every day I questioned myself... why didn't you kill Tessa and I still can't wrap my head around it." said Eren

He kicks Ares' head making him fall to the floor. Ares groans in pain as blood drools out of his mouth.

"You saw Tessa change." I replied

"No no they don't change." said Eren, "Are you saying that I can change."

"That's exactly what I'm saying." I replied

Eren looks at me then walks up to one of the soldiers and grabs his pistol from his holster. He pointed the gun at me and I got ready to draw mine.

"You shoot that in here, the entire structure can collapse." I said

"Not in here." replied Eren

Then Eren points the gun at Ares and shoots his leg. Ares screams in pain and my eyes slightly widen.

"How about changing him?" asked Eren

Eren shoots his other leg and Ares screams in pain again and tries to crawl away.

"You think he can change?" asked Eren, "Even after what he did to Annie?"

"No..." I whispered

"See... it shows Ajax." said Eren, "You only care about those around you."

Eren shoots Ares again but this time in the arm.

"Fuck you!" yelled Ares in pain

Ares was close to me but I ignored him.

"So... you're going to have to kill me. Cause I'm not going to change." said Eren

I slowly pulled out a small knife from my wrist.

"No... No, I don't plan on doing that." I said

I threw my knife straight at Keegan's pistol. It hits right inside the barrel but Keegan pulls the trigger causing the pistol to explode. I threw a smoke grenade at the floor and it exploded. Everyone started firing at me but I shot my hook up into the air and zipped up. I shot my gun while using thermal vision to see my targets. I looked around for Eren but I couldn't point him out. I landed on a catwalk and ran to cover just in time before the hostiles looked up. I hid behind a rock and sighed as I looked around for Eren.

"Looking for me?"

My eyes widened and I quickly turned around just in time to dodge Eren's kick. I backed up but Keegan came in with a sword and swung down at me but I quickly slipped by him and pushed him to Eren.

"How the hell-"

"You taught me, remember?" replied Eren, "Are you regretting it?"

I stayed silent and in a blink of an eye Eren sprinted towards me. I was barely able to block his attack but he spins around and elbows my head then back kicks me. I flew back a few feet but I caught myself.

"And did you think I wouldn't train?" asked Eren

"Sir there's a team heading for you. Stay put sir eta 2 minutes." said Hacker

"Oh don't even think about the reinforcements you're going to get." said Eren

"Eren, leave them out of this." I said

Eren shook his head and that's when Keegan left.

"Keegan stop." I called out

I was about to run after him but Eren stood in my way.

"That's as far as you can get." said Eren
