"Okay, you can stop now!" Howard said but neither of the sides was listening as his lips begin to twitch. Just as he was about to interfere, Diana stood forward throwing James and Victor away as she held on to Artemis.
"Well, that should do it." Howard stood forward between his two brothers, "Stop, it's been a long trip and I am sure you don't want to piss me off right now."
"We were just joking around, brother." Victor wiped away the blood on his face as he came towards him, "But you really upped your game I see. Never took you for a guy to fall for a muscle head and two of them at that."
"C'mon when was he so selective." James chuckled, "He was okay as long as they had a pretty face."
"Do your brothers always act like animals?" Artemis said as sheathed her sword back into her waist as she kept staring at the two. If looks could kill, Howard was sure not even their immortality could save them from her wrath.
"And do you always interfere in someone else's business?" Victor said not backing away.
"They are my guest, so behave." Howard patted both of his brothers with the scariest smile they had seen, "And this is the way my brothers always act. It's like their weird greeting. I know they jumped at me with an aggressive nature but they don't mean any harm so don't mind them."
Artemis looked like she was had more to say but Diana stopped her shaking her head.
"A warning would have been better, that your brothers were like animals." She mumbled none the less.
"Then you've entered the wrong place, little girl."
"Do any of you not respect my wishes anymore." Howard was starting to get a bit annoyed as Victor clicked his tongue walking away toward the bar grabbing himself a drink.
"Sigh! Fine." James rolled his eyes hugging him, "Are they like us?"
"Yes and No, I'll explain later," Howard said as he let go of the hug crashing onto the couch, signaling all of them to sit around him, "Let me introduce you guys, these two here are my brothers. The short friendly-looking one is my younger brother James and the taller brooding man is the eldest one. And this beautiful lady here is Diana and the redhead is my bodyguard."
"I have a name, Artemis." She snorted as Howard nodded grabbing the drink from Victor's hand chugging it down.
"Your name is kind of weird, it's not long but it doesn't roll off the tongue that well, so I should think of a nickname."
"Wait! A bodyguard?" Victor glared at the two of them and back at Howard, "The last time you mentioned one was a decade ago, didn't think you still remembered."
"But it seems it was worth your while." James nodded, "She's strong."
"I am one of the strongest warriors of Themyscira, of course, I am strong." Artemis said, "If it wasn't for the creepy ability of yours, I would have your head by now. Also, don't go around telling people I am your bodyguard, you still haven't completed your part of the deal yet."
"Don't mind her, she's a bit on the frisky side." Howard said, "Now can we all stop fighting and get on the important stuff first."
Howard slowly began explaining his experience of the plane crash and how he ended up in Themyscira, met the two, and how they got back here with the intention of hunting Ares.
"So heading back to the war again?" Victor nodded, "It's not pretty out there, I mean it began getting repetitive even for us, guess we are getting too used to the luxurious life. But this brother, this plan of yours has got me riled up again. Hunting a god down, it's just something I never thought I would have on my bucket list."
"You have been in the war?" Diana asked, "Tell me did you notice anything different."
"Nothing out of the ordinary, I would say." James said, "Just greed getting the best of people like always."
"What do you mean?"
"That's what I want you to understand and learn first Diana." Howard said, "Remember what I said on the boat, humans are very different from what you imagine. We're not all good, hell even we brothers aren't good. But that's just being human. So even if Ares is here or not, it doesn't change the fact that people would still rage war on one another, just not to this big of a scale but you understand what I mean, don't you?"
"But it's the Ares influence that causing all this chaos, he's the only one capable of this."
"Sure, but do you really believe that both sides in this war are controlled by Ares?" Howard said, "Then according to that even Steve or me, are corrupted as well, right?"
Diana sat quietly as she tried to reason with herself.
"Humans aren't just one shade of color Diana, we are all different. Some good, some bad, some a mixture of both, and some who are just plain psychopaths." Howard said shaking his head, "So this ends the first lesson on humanity, next time you'll see what I mean by myself. So don't think too much about it for now."
"You all seem completely fine accepting the fact about a god of war." Artemis noted, "It's almost strange seeing how Steve didn't look so well."
"Our brother has never lied to us." James said, "And as a family, trust is what kept us together. So even if he were to tell us that Satan was going to rise from hell, we'd still believe that without a single doubt. And what's there to be afraid of, Howard always has a plan."
Breaking the awkward silence in the air after James' devoted speech Howard said, "So Diana, I have a very important question for you, Do you trust me?"
"I am not sure but I trust my aunt's judgment and I don't believe you've been corrupted, at least for now."
"That should do for now." Howard nodded, "So this plan is simple, we'll head for General Ludendorff who's planning all these things first, and if we're lucky enough it might lead us to Ares. If it doesn't we'll think of another plan then. With the five of us, we should be enough. I'll talk about the details of the plan later but we'll still need some resources."
"What about Steve?"
"What about him?" Howard said, "He's a mortal Diana, a normal human. I am not sure about bringing him with us. It won't do him much good."
"What resources do you need?" Victor asked ignoring Diana and whoever this Steve guy was.
"A man who can sneak us into their base and territory. I mean, we can't fly into enemy's territory like we own the place and if you haven't noticed, my face is out in the public due to the bloody news. I don't know about the Allies but I am sure I am already the sworn enemy of the Central power."
