Chapter Fifteen: Labor of Love

Aiden must be watching tv while he gets ready for work. The volume was up too loud, which was strange for him. Stranger still was the fact that he was watching a medical drama. His tv was always tuned to stocks and real estate. Never anything so frivolous as Grey’s Anatomy or from the sounds of the actor’s voice, House.

“If the patient hasn’t assigned anyone as her guardian, who is going to be responsible to make decisions for her?”

“I am her husband. We are separated, but I’m still legally her guardian.” The voice actor sounded like Edmund, but actually stressed about his wife's condition...and something else. The thought of Edmund being concerned about her made her chuckle. The vibration of her laughter caused her stomach to spasm.
