The next day I woke up from my nap to see my mother peeking her head in through the crack of the door. "Hi, honey. How are you feeling?" She asks me as I sit up and look around for Alex but grow confused when I don't see him. "Uhm, I'm fine mom. Do you by chance know where Alex went?" I ask as she timidly creeps in the room a little more but seems hesitant to come any closer. "He went to get something to eat." She says quietly while rocking nervously on her heels. "Mom?" I ask as I glance at her while she stops her fidgeting briefly. "Yes?"
